I had morphine in my system and took a regular (I believe to be a 4 panel drug test) for my Po. I tested negative for opiates but she mentioned the word morphine. I thought it was a non-narcotic pill but it gives me the same feeling as would Lortab or Codiene. ## tramadol would not show up in a hair drug test. I'm prescribed oxy 30s but was out and took maybe the amount of a oxy30 but it was heroin. If it is a GC/MS lab test it is doubtful morphine would show up as Opana which is oxymorphone. IF it is a urine dip test like you buy at the store Opana might show up on a morphine test if the levels of opana are very very high. ## I don't think it has anything to do with the test. Oxy can show up as Morphine, but I would like to know if it ever goes the other way?.... Will Morphine ever show up as Oxy? Or is anyone aware of any false positives? I have to go to the pain clinic next week and not sure if they are going to drug test me or not. They have been messing around with my meds and of course instead of starting at the ceiling they start at the floor. I was on morphine 30 twice a day, my insurance stopped paying for that. They tried all kinds of other things that bothered my stomach but now we are on oxycontin 10mg which is not strong enough so i have had to substitute until i go back and i do not want to lose my doctor. Man the amount of people who have no clue what they are talking about yet spitting advice on it like they are an expert is bewildering. NO FENTANYL does not show up as an opiate on any test anywhere. In fact the only things that will show up as an opiate are morphine, codeine, and heroin and that is because heroin and morphine metabolize into morphine. Not even oxycodone or hydrocodone can be detected as an opiate they have to be specifically tested for as they metabolize differently, same with methadone, methadone has to be specifically tested for, it will not show up as anything but methadone. I take oxycodone/acetamino. 7.5/325 for pain. I also take LOMOTIL prn for diarrhea. On my routine drug test(saliva), I tested positive for MORPHINE as well as the oxycodone. I have not been on MORPHINE since Oct. of 2013 (6 months ago). Why am I testing positive for Morphine now? Is it the Lomotil? ## Hello, if the saliva test was a rapid screen test and you came up positive for anything whoever gave you the test should have sent a sample to a lab for a confirmation test using the GC/MS method of testing. If it was a rapid screening test like you can buy for home use, it is possible you got a false positive for some reason. FYI, the detection period for opiates in saliva is only 24-48 hours. Thanks ## The Oxymorphone in the Opana and Oxycodone in the Roxicodone are both synthetic opiates and these have been known to occasionally cause false positives for other synthetic opiates. Morphine, however, is not synthetic, so that's not one they've been reported to cause a false positive for. The Oxymorphone is distantly related to Morphine, but it is not the same substance and, therefore, the metabolites that it creates in the body, which would be detectable on a drug test, are different.
