I've been taking morphine sulfate instant release and morphine sulfate extended-release for at least 5 to 6 years. It works for me. What do I tell the doctor? ## To the original poster, what is your exact question? Are you saying you can no longer afford to get this medication? Have you informed your doctor? There might be assistance programs available to help you. Can I get hooked on these if i take 20 mgs per day for two months? ## To answer your question, yes, it is possible to get hooked that quickly, as Morphine is recognized as having a high potential for addiction. Tolerance and psychological dependence can develop rapidly, although physiological dependence may take several months to develop. Whether you have addictive behavior or not, I truly believe that your mind can overcome any addiction if you stay on top of how you feel and how it's affecting you while you're taking it on such a consistent basis. One way to do this is to keep a log or journal every week reporting any undesirable side effects, feelings, emotions (if you become more emotional) and what-have-you. Taking note of any changes in yourself really help put things into...

Im taking 30 mgs of morphine 3 times a day. It doesnt make me feel high r anything. It just takes away my chronic back pain, due to a couple of back surgies. Im also taking tramdol 50 mgs of tramdol also works good. However, in order for any of these meds to work. I have tlo take 3 pills of each, meaning im taking 90mgs of morphine and a 150 of tramdol. The pain clinic and the Doctor that prescribes my morphine. I dont feel like he has my best interest at heart. He seems to be me like a legalize drug dealer. Im planning on discontinue his service in October 17, 2014 ## Hi mattie, Sorry to hear about your experience with that doctor. If you think about it though, most MD's who work in such a setting ARE pretty much legal drug dealers. Outside of running diagnostics for a specific con...

I was px morphine 30 mg sulfa but no pharmacy carries it in los angeles ca does any one or does someone now a pharmacy that carries it ## Hello, Joseph! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem finding your medication. How have you been checking for it? If you're just calling the pharmacies, you won't get an accurate answer, because they have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is a potential thief or a legitimate customer with a need. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone have any ideas? ## Take the prescription to a hospital , and usually they can make sure that your doctor is legit and can also help in getti...

I have chronic back pain and nerve damage to my right side due to a car accident, The neuroligist said the damage is equal to being dropped 7 stories on my left side. Now he is prescribing Morphine Sulfate 15mg and I am worried about the addiction versuses pain relief ## I have been on Morphind sulfate for approx. 3 months now twice daily for back, hip and hand pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. It has helped my back and hip pain but not the hand. My biggest problem is that this drug is like swallowing cement, it is terribly constipating. I stopped it for several days just to see if I was, indeed, becoming addicted and the awnser is no. My physical therapist and other nurses have told me not to worry as long as I was in pain I would not become addicted. But of course we are all different...

For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...

What would happen if I took 70. 60mg of morphine pills ## Hi brandon, In all honesty, do you really need an answer for a question like this? I mean come on. Seventy 60mg Morphine pills will surely land someone in either the hospital or the afterlife. If life is truly that horrendous for you, I ask that you at least seek some sort of help before taking matters into your own hands. Just a thought, but if you're really set on ending your life, why wouldn't take a more definitive approach that is sure to get the job done, as opposed to toying around with pills that may just cause more grief in the end. It's obvious that you aren't ready to give up, otherwise you wouldn't have posted such a question and waited for a response. There are plenty of ways in this world to kill...

oval and green says 3 on one side and 15 on the other ## After doing some searching, I believe you are looking at one side of the pill upside down, the marking should be E 15, the E is stylized as it is the logo for Ethex Pharmaceuticals. Yes, this is Morphine CR 15mgs, a generic for MS Contin, a very strong and highly addictive opiate.

54252 ## In one place you have the number as 54262, and in another it says 54252. If your pill is a pale yellow, round pill about the size of an aspirint, (maybe a little bigger) and the number is 54262 then yes, you do have 30mg morphine sulfate. It is used for moderate to severe pain. It is a schedule 2, controlled substance, that can be very addictive. Side effects include marked drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, euphoria, headache, among other side effects. I could not find a pill labeled 54252 so I am hoping the real number is 54262.

On my formulary list, it shows Morphine Sulfate bead, as a category of morphine available. I am currently taking morphine sulfate ER 30 mg., but the cost is $90 for a quantity of 90 pills (1 month supply). The Morphine Sulfate bead is shown with a cost of only $15 per month. What is the bead type of morphine and would this be an option for me to use instead of the ER type? ## It is just another time released formulation in a capsule, from what I can find. Are you currently taking tablets, or a name brand? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

I have just received two scripts, one is Morphine Sulfate IR 30 MG and the is Morphine Sulfate SR 30 MG tablets. It doesn't say which one is the slow releasing and which one isn't. Can you please help me with this? ## I'm happy to help you! IR stands for immediate release and the SR stands for sustained release, so the IR is the fast one and the SR is your time released formulation. You can learn more Morphine details here. Since Morphine is a narcotic, it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon - Is correct. IR is Immediate Release and SR or ER is Sustained Release or Extended Release. As I am sure you are aware, MORPHINE; in any form, can become very addicti...

I have taken off-green color *generic morphine 30mg e.R for a number of years with good results / 4 chronic pain. Now pharmacy is giving me morphine tab - 30mg e.R made by a lab called *mallinkrt. Taking it does bother my stomach, and does not last as e.R should. Seems alot of this stuff being substituted at pharmacies. Twice I've been given this made by mallinkrt lab and it doesnt work. Anyone else having this trouble? ## I have problems with MSContin but that is quick release. They decided to put me on 15 mg KADIAN which is lon lasting as in time release all day- hour. I take it 3x'x a day. No problems but its not generic and costs me 50.00 each script. The morphine is supposed to also extend the life of percocet which I take 4 times a day with 3 of them being taken with the k...

I have a purple little round pill with a M in a square on one side and on the other side it has the # 30. When I looked it up it showed morphine sulfate Sr. My questions are #1. Are these considered extended release? And #2. If so, how often should I be taking them? 1 every 12 hours or 1 every 24 hours. ## Hello, Star! How are you? Yes, the SR stands for sustained release, so it is a time release formulation. They are usually dosed every 12 hours, but you should follow your doctor's prescribing instructions, if they are different. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very...

Is this really good for my back? What else is it good for? What is the average price for a prescription to be filled? ## I can't really tell you if this will help you or not. Pain medications can affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it just doesn't work for. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. To answer your other question, Morphine is a narcotic pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain. I wouldn't suggest trying to use it for any other purpose outside of that. Did your doctor just give you a prescription for it without saying a word? ## I have stage 4 cancer I've been taking Vicodin 500 mg 6 times a day now I switch to 15 mg of morphine and I feel horrible don...

I have been taking ms 60mg for six months. first i received a light tanish round waxy pill with a coating. then 3 months ago i received the same but burnt orange in color. same markings abg and 60. the pharmacy told me that the manufacturer had switched to a different color. idk why, but half of my script was tan and the other orange. 2 months ago i received only orange ones. and then last month i received oblong orange ones marked e655 and 60. these are more chalky and do not have wax. they ARE the same thing only different binders. If you prefer the ones with e655 ask your pharmacist for the ones made by ENDO Labs. ## It is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch what generic medication they provide, at any given time, depending on which manufacturer was offering the cheapest pr...

I have been taking morphine sulfate er blue tablets coated in ny. I moved to wisconsin and got my first script here for the same meds. Pharmacy gave me morphine sulfate 15mg sr. It's not coated. It appears to be a regular morphine tablet. I took one and feel nausea and sick. What's the difference or is there any? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? What are the markings on the new ones? That is the only way I'd be able to check the details for you. Can you please post back? But please keep in mind that not all time released tablets use a coating, there are several other methods they can use to control the release of the medication. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, diz...
