I know a urine test will show the norcos I'm taking I have a prescription, does it show how many I'm taking in a day or does it just show positive? I am prescribed 10 mg Norco's 4x per day, 10 mg Valium 3 x daily, topical lidocaine and benzocaine, 50 mg of duloxetine per day, 50 mg of amitriptyline per day, 2 mg estradiol per day, I use a pro air inhaler which has albuterol, Ibuprofen as needed, melatonin as needed, and an iron pill. The problem is I just took a drug screen for work and they did a dip test which showed up positive for morphine, Oxy, and benzodiazepines. I have never taken OxyContin or oxycodone before. I have never taken morphine before with the exception of a post surgical drip three years ago. I know the Valium shows up as a benzo but why would my hydrocodone or whatever show up as morphine and Oxy? When taking a urine drug test, will vicodin show up the same as morphine? ## No it will not. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid medication. It's currently synthesized from thiabine and as such is no cross reactive with reagents used to detect opiates such as codeine and morphine. I was wondering how long it would take for Norco to be out of the system? My brother has been on pain medication since 2007. He is prescribed Oxycontin (2 per day) and Oxycodone (3-4 per day). Recently, he was not obtaining relief from those meds. He decided to take an older prescription of Hydrocodone (Norco 10-325) that a doctor had written him a couple years earlier. He stopped taking his usual meds on Monday night, and began taking the Hydrocodone on Tuesday (4-5 pills per day) and he took them for 4 days (which ended friday). Why would my urine test show negative for Norco when I take 3-4 daily? I take 80mg daily of Lasix and I have stage 4 kidney failure. I accidentally took a Hydrocodone because I didn't read the label of the bottle, and thought it was an over the counter pain reliever. i fractured my ankle and was norco 7.5 when i returned to work i was tested and i tested positive for oxycodone. is it the same. ## I am on oxycodone 30 mg daily. I have bulging disks and sciatica. My pain Dr gave me 7.5 hydrocodone and gabapentin. I went today for my appt but was discharged because my test came back positive for oxymorphone and dilaudid. I have NEVER taken those meds. My Dr wouldn't even see me. Last month they were supposed to do injections but never called for approval until the morning I showed up for the procedure. ## I relapsed recently on herion, but I have a Dr appt tomorrow and they might drug test me. Why would hydrocodone show up in my urine test if I have not taken any opiates? ## Can you post back with information on anything else you have taken? Even over the counter products? There are some substances that can cause false positives for opiates on urine tests and it does occur most often with these synthetic opiates, which is what Hydrocodone is. ## This just happened to my husband. In February of 2014 i went from oxycontin to fentanyl patch.
