I'm taking hydrocodon-APAP 5/300MG How much Tylenol does this contain? I was told by nurse at hospital to take Tylenol between doses. While doing so just once isn't likely to cause severe issues, it is always best to consult your doctor to be sure. The Hydrocodone tablet you took contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so it is never a good idea to add more Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to the mix. Taking too much in any 8 hour period risks causing liver damage or liver failure. Is Hydrocodone the same or contain the same ingredients/drugs as Tylenol 3 with codiene? ## From what I could gather, Tylenol 3 is composed of two analgesic or pain-relieving drugs: acetaminophen + codeine. Inactive ingredients complete the composition of this medication. So to better answer your question, hydrocodone is not the same, nor is it even contained in this medication. You might be thinking of norco or lortab, which contain a similar combination of acetaminophen + hydrocodone. Both medications are used for pain relief, but I'd consider hydrocodone to be much more potent than codeine from my own experience. Was given RX Hydrocod/acetaminophen 7.5-325/15ML every 4-6hrs. Can you also use liquid tylenol 500 mg over the counter together, alternating? ## You should not combine OTC tylenol with any prescription meds that also contain tylenol. I know a person that took a higher than recommended dose of Tylenol and they said that it equals up to 1 Hydrocodone. ## Hi Ann - There is no real equivalent dose between Tylenol (ingredient name Acetaminophen) versus Hydrocodone. They are two completely different drugs, plus the Acetaminophen is not even an opiate medication like Hydrocodone is. In fact, taking too much Acetaminophen puts the body at great risk of liver damage! So I hope that your friend is okay! There are some drugs which contain a combination of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone (such as Vicodin and Norco), but in those drugs they act together. So as I mentioned, it is never a good idea to try and take a therapeutic equivalent of Hydrocodone by using Acetaminophen. I hope this helps and best wishes!

My mother gets norco 5 mg for her ms. For some reason when she got them this month they say 44 334. I'm concerned my brother stole the actual medication and replaced it with these pills. I've been taking Tylenol 4 for a little while and I've noticed if I don't take my anxiety medication with it my body doesn't feel right I feel like it's on fire plus I'm very nervous. I received my usual prescription of Hydrocodone (10mg. compound form, no additives/Tylenol, etc...) from a new/different pharmacy. The capsules are 3x larger than the previous capsules I had been receiving and of course, appear to contain 3x as much hydrocodone. New pharmacy says all is well, only Hydrocodone... just as prescribed. Anyone ever experience this? ## Well, since they are compounded, it's very difficult to say, but it really just depends on how they put them together. At a different pharmacy, they may use more fillers than your prior pharmacy did, but that doesn't mean it actually contains more of the Hydrocodone. Are there any other questions or comments?
