Can I take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10/325 tab and Gabapentin 300 mg for body aches froom cold flu? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Gabapentin likely won't help much, it is not an actual analgesic. It's classified by the FDA as an anticonvulsant that can help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders, but it takes 4 to 5 weeks to teach its full level of efficacy in the body. The Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen is an analgesic that may help, if your doctor approves of your taking it. It is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I’m wondering if anyone else has suffered stomach pain as side effect of gabapentin? I've been on it for more than a month and a half. I have terrible constipation as well. ## Those are listed as possible side effects of this Gabapentin, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood changes. I've experienced it myself, but to any degree of severity, and usually an acid reducer helps. Are you on any other medications? Have you ever had stomach issues prior to taking it? What does your normal diet consist of? ## Sorry, that should have read 'not to any degree of severity'.

I had seen six doctors that all misdiagnosed my condition and finally one got it right but the insurance company wouldn't pay for any type of treatment other than pain management, so I have been taking different types of medication for a few years now for two bulging discs, degenerate disc disease, and sciatica. Early on I dealt with constipation from the dosage of morphine that I was prescribed, so for the past year I have been taking three 30 Mg of morphine sulfate ER, eight 10/325 Mg Norco, and eight 100 Mg of Gabapentin per day. Unfortunately my body tolerance to the current dosage isn't working like it once did. My approach has been to decrease the amount of medication for two months then go back to my regular dosage, but the last few attempts hasn't helped make the med...

I've been prescribed 10mg targin with 600mg of Gabapentin , can I take a Vicodin a couple of hrs later to help relieve nerve pain ... I don't want to overdose .. ## Hello, Nina! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. You should stick with one or the other, since both Targin and Vicodin contain Acetaminophen, taking too much of it daily, or in any 8 hour period could result in overdose toxicity, which may be fatal. I could also be dangerous to double up on the narcotics, as well. I wanted to get verication if these pills r stronger then tylonol 3 or 4 ## Hello, Kevin! How are you doing? No, Gabapentin is actually an anticonvulsant that has been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. Thus, it does not work like a regular analgesic, because it takes several weeks for it to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body to alleviate pain. The Tylenol contains Codeine, which will start to alleviate pain shortly after you take it and which is an actual narcotic analgesic. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other questions or concerns?

What is stronger medication a gabybentin or a tylonol 3 or 4 ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? I think you are misunderstanding what Gabapentin actually is, because it is not a regular analgesic. It is actually anticonvulsant that can help with some types of nerve pain, but it will take 4 to6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in the body. Thus, it does not work like an actual analgesic that can alleviate pain within minutes of taking it. Thus, the Tylenol 3 or 4 is stronger, because it is an actual analgesic that contains Codeine coupled with Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
