Does Citalopram Get You High

I started citalopram a year ago and it takes time but it does work. I take 40 mg a day, and life has gotten better. OK, I do admit, you will be a little forgetful and slow, but that is what it does. If you are high anxiety, like me, it will slow you down. It calms you down and if you embrace it just right you CAN make the drug work in your own way and fitting in your own lifestyle. But remember, IT DOES TAKE TIME. You'll see. ## Medications in this class generally take a month or more to reach their full effectiveness, for most people. AS to being forgetful and slow, this DOES NOT happen to everyone, medications can affect everyone in different ways. So, while some may experience this as a side effect, not everyone does. Thank you, however, for providing your experience and informat...

I have been on 20mg of citalopram for 3months for axiety helped a bit but av got terible jaw clensing an still feel anxious will this get better xx ## No, it isn't likely to change if it's been 3 months, it usually only takes 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full effectiveness in the body and for the side effects to taper off. Learn more Citalopram details here. You may need a higher dosage, or with the jaw clenching, it may not be the right medication for you and you may need to try something else. Have you had any dental pain from it?

8 weeks ago my mom was given 10mg citalopram for anxiety. she did not feel any side effect in the first week but afterwards starting having insomnia, upset stomach, tremor, agitation, etc. The psychiatrist increased teh dose to 20 mg daily but this did not solve anything. Today, in the 8th week she could not sleep at all in the night (she felt fresh when going sleeping even she was working the whole day) and in the morning she is feeling needles in the whole body, she is shaking + many other bad feelings. Can be that the dose is too high for her age (74 years old)?. I am afraid not to be the symptoms of a high level of serotonin. ## Those can all be side effects of Celexa. Insomnia is a classic side effect, though some people get sleepy from SSRI's. Seems to depend on the person. Th...

Can you use low doses of Tramadol and Celexa (citalopram) on the same day? 20 mg of Celexa a day and 50mg of tramadol as needed, so not everyday usage on the tramadol. ## Using them together is generally not recommended. Both Tramadol and Celexa can raise levels of Serotonin in the brain, if the levels go too high, it may result in Serotonin Syndrome, which can be fatal. Learn more Tramadol details here. Learn more Celexa details here. Has your doctor prescribed them both for you? They are sometimes used together, but it requires caution and very close, regular monitoring. ## Thanks! The tramadol is an old prescription and I didn't think to ask my doctor since I dont take it very often. Thats scary, I think I wont mess with the combination and maybe when I get a flare up I'll ta...

How does 20mg of lexipro compare with 40 mg of citalopram? Is drowsiness a side effect of citalopram? ## The Escitalopram in the Lexapro is more potent than the Citalopram, so it is normal that a higher dose of the Citalopram be needed, if someone is switching from one to the other. And drowsiness can be a normal side effect of both of them, as well as nausea, dry mouth and weight changes. Are there any other questions or comments?

I was on Citalopram and I was feeling very sick whilst taking these, my doc changed me over to cymgen last week Thursday and I am feeling a whole lot better but he did prescribe 20 Azor 0.5 tabs to take in the morning at the same time he prescribed the Cymgen, is it the Cymgen that is making me feel better or the Azor as it was a living hell taking the Citalopram ## Are you sure you're taking Azor? Because it's listed as containing Amlodipine and Olmesartan, both of which are used to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions. Learn more Azor details here. That said, it's difficult to say which is making you feel better, it may be a combination of everything. Learn more Cymgen details here.

How many of these pills {Pink Oval pill IP 52 on it} does it take to get a euphoria? Also can these pills be insufflated? ## This tablet will not get you high and it isn't safe to snort any tablet, since they are not made to be used in such a manner. The tablet you mentioned with the marking IP 52 contains 10mgs of Citalopram, which is nothing more than an SSRi antidepressant. Learn more Citalopram details here. Cam celexa (citalopram 40mg) cause slurred speech? ## Hello, Dianne! How are you? It shouldn't, unless its far too high of a dose for the person, or they are having a bad reaction to it. I'd suggest the person experiencing such see their doctor immediately to get too the root of the problem. Slurred speech could be the sign of a serious medication condition, such as a stroke. The typical side effects for Celexa, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I Have Recently Been Put On Cilift And Was Wondering If A Side Effect Is Very Itchy Hands. I have been on them For a Week and started with the itchiness 2 days ago. I take one capsule a day. I was suffering with pre anxiety attacks with stress and my blood pressure was not high but was increasing slightly. Sometimes when I take a deep breath I feel an anxious feeling in my chest but it does not get worse. Can this be a side affect or will this feeling go after taking cilift for a while? I have been on citalopram 20mg since april 2014 For about a week now my anxiety has returned , very similar to the initial side effects i experienced over the first couple of weeks of taking it. Could it be a sign my dose is too high or need to increase it - something i dont really want to do. Also does anyone else experience skin sensations - very difficult to describe but its like slight tingling and a feeling of cold? ## Hello, Carolem! How are you feeling? The skin sensations can be normal and many medications can cause them as side effects. The one I'm on for my blood pressure causes it on my head, anytime I'm in the sun, which is a very strange experience. LOL If you're anxiety has returned, it most likely means that you need a dosage increase. The FDA lists the other ...

My bottle says Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg and Mfg: West Ward, but the pills are peach color with 4 0 on one side and 1011 on the other side. Is this a correct fill? ## NO! I first took Vicodin about 20 years ago and I noticed that it made me fell like I thought I should feel if I was "normal". It wasn't a high or a buzz. It just brought my mood and focus up to a level where I thought it should be. I have brought it up to my doctors in the past and they just kind of shrug their shoulder. I'm 50 years old, taking 60mg Adderall & Citalopram each, day but it doesn't work as well as Vicodin. My inability to focus and lack of energy has affected my life drastically and it's become very serious in terms of finding & keeping a job and my health. Also, I'm aware of the addiction dangers but that is not an issue. I take a Vicodin maybe 2 or 3 times a month for back pain. What I'm trying to find out is if anybody else is aware...

I have been on mirtazapine at 15mg for two weeks, I feel like a walking zombie and my moods are vile! I am agitated and hot tapered with my husband and children making me a nightmare to live with. Today the doctor has prescribed me 30mg as I have always been on such a high dose of Citalopram before we tapered off, that she thinks my side effects may be because I need more antidepressant in the system but agreed it might be because they don't suit me but we won't know until we've tried them for 5-6weeks. My question is will I always be tired and zombie like?...and also will I always be hot tempered and agitated? Or will these symptoms wear off as at the moment I just feel like stopping the damn things! Would really appreciate the opinions of those who have experienced this dr...
