I started back on .5 estradiol. I have not been on it for a year and 1/2 and I have gained a lot of weight. I started on supplements that helped me to feel better so I thought I could go off estradiol. It’s so weird cause I thought I would lose weight going off of it and I keep gaining. I eat clean, exercise daily and drink only water. I started back up yesterday so I’m hoping it will help me take some of this weight off. Has anyone heard of weight loss when on estradiol? ## Are you perimenopausal, or post menopausal? If so, these conditions can cause some weight gain, regardless of what medication you take, your diet, or exercise, this is well documented in NIH studies. It is a well known fact that most middle aged women tend to gain weight and develop a paunch in the midse...

My Dr. would like me to switch from Paxil Cr, which I have been taking for 2 years now to Cymbalta because of the the weight gain side effect I'm having with Paxil. He said Cymbalta can have a weight loss effect for some people. I would like to hear comments from anyone that has made this particular switch and/or about weight gain/loss from using Cymbalta. Thanks so much ## I was on Zoloft for several years and developed significant weight gain, I was switched to Cybalta, in hopes that it would help with my chronic pain, as well as my depression and etc. I did start to lose the weight about a week after I started using it. Unfortunately, it did not work for me at all, for either my pain or depression, so I had to go back on the Zoloft, however, I have maintained the weight loss, eve...

how long does it take to work ## Hello, Oscar! How are you? Linzess is not actually intended to be used for weight loss, so there is no time frame I can give you for this. It is used to treat symptoms of IBS that are associated with constipation. And while that may cause weight loss, in some instances, it can be dangerous to try to lose weight via giving yourself diarrhea, since it creates the risk of malnourishment and dehydration. Common side effects to this drug may include nausea, dizziness and stomach pain. Was it prescribed for weight loss? ## I just received a sample from the dr to help with my weight loss, however, I am shocked at ALL the side affects from people of.horrible weight gain! I am confused, can you please help explain? ## I have IBS. Been taking linzesss for a month....

I'm not losing much weight. No side effects. Been on for 3. Weeks approx ## I'm talking about Belviq... I've been on 3 weeks. Not working. Anyone have good results after a month?? ## Hello, Barb! How are you? How much have you lost? Are you also getting exercise and eating healthy? Not every medication works for everyone that tries, but you should give it about 4 to 6 weeks to each its full level of effectiveness in your body. If you're not seeing any improvement after that, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Belviq as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, sweating and anorexia.

Hi! My Dr. Gave me linzess to help with weight loss. HOWEVER, I am reading all the posts about horrible weight gain, I am confused!!!!!!! ## Hello, Twinckle! How are you? This medication isn't intended to be used for weight loss, it's actually used to treat chronic constipation. It can cause diarrhea, which could result in weight loss for some, as reported by the FDA, but it can also cause abdominal bloating and distention, which has caused many to think they were gaining weight on it. Can anyone that's been on it chime in with their experiences? ## Hello, Linzess can certainly be prescribed for the purpose of weight loss! I began taking Wellbutrin about a year and a half ago. I started at 200 mg. And am still at that dosage. It caused me to lose about 30 pounds, which is great. It gave me energy and suppressed my appetite. But within the past few months I've noticed the medicine doesn't work as well as it used to and I'm gaining the weight back dramatically and my diet is the same. My question is, if my doctor ups the dosage, would it help me lose weight again? Or is my body already used to the medication to where it wouldn't be as beneficial as when I began? ## Hello, Hans! How are you? Upping your dose may help, it usually does cause the side effects to recur, which is basally what you want. Alternatively, you could ask your doctor about trying Contrave, it contains the same active ingr...

Dieting is the practice of eating food in a regulated fashion to decrease, maintain, or increase body weight. I would like to try benadrol how can I purchase it? Thank you ## I am confused by your post. In the topic area you said the name was Benetol. In the comment box you said it was Benatol, then later in the paragraph you said it was Benadrol. Which one are you referring to and why did you spell it three different ways? Are they different brand names? And you are saying the call CAN be made from your area; but I am assuming you meant to say CANNOT. 2 months ago my doctor prescribed Pradaxa because I have Dvt. I have other health issues therefore I take quite a few meds. After 1 month on Pradaxa, I said to the doc, there are 2 things a woman doesn't want to happen, 1-gain weight and 2- lose your hair. My genius doc said, hair loss is not a side effect. Told him I don't know where ha gets his info. I took it upon myself to stop Pradaxa. I have been off for 1 week & my hair keeps falling out. Anybody know when the hair loss stops and will your hair come back. To add insult to injury I began to gain weight. I am quite crippled due to severe arthritis in my hips so I don't want to carry any extra weight on my hips. Any ideas when that hunger eases up. Thanks. ## Hello, Dee Dee! How are you? Thyroids checked out, no explanation for weight loss; over 15 lbs in less than 5 months. Muscles seem to be deteriorating, very weak. Any ideas, anyone? ## Hi Lillianna, There could be many factors that might be attributing to this unexplained weight loss. In the past 5 months, you had to have done something/anything differently to experience such a drastic change in weight without you noticing/trying. - What's your diet like? Are you eating regular meals throughout the day and "suddenly" changed your eating habits or overall caloric intake? - Have you been exercising regularly? - Have you been taking any new medications or supplements? - Are you experiencing more stress on a daily basis than what your body is comfortable with? Those are just some of the things I can think o...
