i have a back injury i have been on norco for almost a year my doctor says a new ca. law says she has to bring me off norco and replace it with tramadol that soon no will be able to get norco unless you just had surgery is this true ## Yes, from what I've learned that is basically correct. General practitioners won't be able to prescribe such medications, except in emergency cases after recent injury or surgery. Learn more pain management details here. If someone suffers from a condition that causes long-term chronic pain, they have to see a pain management specialist for treatment to continue having such medications prescribed. A lot of it has to do with the abuse of the medications by many people, the fact that many doctors aren't specially trained to treat people that in ... ...

The reason I am asking is because if you're calling various doctor's offices and asking if they'll treat you and prescribe specific medications, then you will pretty much always get told no. When someone does that, doctor's and their staff are taught to see it as drug seeking behavi... ...

My doctor suddenly stopped prescribing my Norco 10/325 after two plus years. Sent me to a pain med doctor who didn't even look at my records and gave me nothing and told me to come back in two weeks, after charging me $250.00. What options do I have now? I am in Florida. Thanks for any feedback. ## Hi Kittkatt, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I don't know of any doctors to refer you to, but I just thought I'd ask if you've considered trying any other methods of pain management besides medication? The medication may help take the away the pain temporarily, but won't necessarily heal the underlying issues that could be causing your pain to continue. Do you have insurance to cover it? Learn more Norco details here. Can anyone else suggest someone that may be a bit cheaper? The only other suggestion I can make, if you don't have insurance, is to contact your local hospitals and see if they have a social work department. The people there often have a list of resources to help people that don't have insurance, so they can get the medical care they need. They may even know of a clinic that can help that has a sliding fee scale. ## Who is the doctor in Joplin? I live in Joplin, MO and have been to countless pain management specialists tha... ...

mI want to know how long it works not how long it 6 doctorsan who Decide it effects you ## There is really no way to give a definitive answer, because it is going to depend on the dosage, your tolerance to opiates and your own metabolism. They are usually prescribed to be taken about every 6 hours, as needed. If your current dosage isn't handling your pain for a long enough period of time, then you should consult your doctor for a possible dosage adjustment. Please Help if you can refer me to a good doctor who listens and understands the patients! Thank You! M ## Hi, Eme! Sorry about the problem you're having and that you're in pain. No one should have to suffer. However, doctors have no choice but to be skeptical and scrutinize. If they don't and their prescribing practices are found to be questionable, they risk losing their license to practice medicine. where should i start to get off of hydrocodone

I've been taking Norco 7.5 for over 2 years. I have severe degenerative disc disease and arthritis in my neck. In the beginning I took as prescribed by as most people it eventually took more to do the job. I am now highly addicted. I can and will take up to 10-15 per day if I have it. I want to stop. I have to. This has taken over my life. I've tried several tines on my own and I just can't. I'm wondering should I talk to my pain management doctor about this or where should I turn? I fear she will cut me off all together and I can't go through the withdrawals by myself. I'm thinking suboxone but don't know where to start with that.
