I'm a cronic pain patient going on 10 Years. I have had multiple surgeries on my lower back. I was prescribed 270 30 mg oxycodone take one every 2-3 hours as needed for pain. Is this a common dose? It seems extreme to me but my prior dose is not effectve anymore. ## It is not common, but if you are tolerant to Oxycodone and have been using it for a long time, then it is no necessarily dangerous, either. Many doctors will try this when their patient has build up a tolerance to their current dose and dosing schedule. Especially if alternative medications don't work.
