I am searching for a good pain management doctor in Louisiana. The only pain medication I can tolerate is Methadone. ## You will need a copy of your medical records from your previous dr. There is no guarantee that another dr will prescribe you Methadone. When someone asks for a specific drug, it is a red flag or drug seekers. So it might be best to get an appointment and see a dr and take your medical records. You might have to see them for a few months before you will know if they will prescribe you Methadone. ## I have been in chronic pain for more than 17 yrs. since 2000. I had 3 disc badly ruptured and rendered me disabled, multiple back inj's, mri, cat scans, etc. I had a pain management doctor but he moved. I am looking for a doctor who prescribes suboxone in the New Orleans, slidell Louisiana area. I am a single mom with no insurance, can't afford 350 a visit and prescription cost. My kids have medicaid but I don't. Thanks. ## Suboxone treatment is still pretty new, so I am not aware of any doctors that offer cheaper prices, because they do have to maintain special approval and monitoring to treat patients with it. Learn more Suboxone details here. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, you might want to check into Methadone clinics in your area, as it is usually much cheaper, since it's been used for a very long time. I need a pain management doctor in Lake Charles Louisiana. Is there a list of them that will prescribe pain & aniexty meds ? Help please !! ## Hello, SurvivorAngel! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were set forth by the DEA last year, you'll not likely be able to have pain and anxiety medications prescribed by the same doctor. Which means, for your anxiety, you'd need to see a psychiatrist. And unfortunately no, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe. You have to set up appointment with new doctors, go to the appointments, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records and then discuss your treatment options. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regular that might be able to refer you to the approp...

I had been on Suboxone for almost 8 years. In my opinion it is a wonder drug compared to all the opiates that the pain clinics are all too willing to prescribe .I have been out of my Suboxone for a week & a half. I feel like I am dying. I can not sleep. I have a 5 month old new baby boy. I can hardly pick him up due to the pain that I am in. I hurt all over. i have been so nauseated. My doctor who 's visits were cash bases only, however medicaid would take care of the actual prescription of 60, 8 mg. At one time I WAS PRESCRIBED 4, 8 MG SUBS A DAY. i WOULD KILL JUST TO HAVE A QUARTER RIGHT NOW TO FEEL LIKE NORMAL AGAIN. My doctor decided that he no longer wants to deal with any one with medicaid due to the fact that his office does not "LIKE TO HANDLE PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS ...

I’m in Lake Charles and my Doctor stopped my Percocet 10/325 mainly because I was complaining about it no longer working. Different manufacturers & fillers I believe. Anyway I’m currently on SSI Disability for my chronic pain and since stopping the Oxycodone last August I’ve had no quality of life. I can’t sleep well because of pain and can’t wait even do Daily living activities. New Doctor just kept pushing Gabapentin and different antidepressants, plus I’ve tried Lyrica & Cymbalta with horrible side effects from all. They’re trying to make me crazy. I don't even care if it’s Oxycodone. I’d rather have something that’s extended release. I’m in Lake Charles if anyone knows who may help me close by and not judg...

I need to find a Dr. To write a Rx. For hydrocodin for chronic back pain, where can I find one in Southern Louisiana? ## Well, first of all, there is no listing to refer to that tells you what doctors in any given location will prescribe any given medication. And the next issues is that you really aren't going to be able to see a new doctor and ask for a specific medication, because they are taught to see that as drug seeking behavior. Learn more Vicodin details here. Your best bet, if you need long-term pain management, is to see a pain management specialist and set up an appointment to get in the door, without asking is they will prescribe anything. Then make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records, so the documented medical problems and notes from your prior doctor...

I have been taking 120 mg of methadone for approximately 5 years. My husbands job transferred us from Florida to Louisiana where I found a pretty good pain doc. He is now running scared and wants to take me off of methadone. Methadone has given me a good quality of life; I am able to work and be a productive member of society. My doctor is unwilling or unable to assist me in finding a new doctor who will continue my meds. Oh yeah, I have been the route of blocks and injections and gotten little if any relief. I'm tired of being branded a drug seeker-I have years of medical records that back up my claims and verify the dosages that I've been on-what drug seekers have this kind of back up? I need a new pm doc anywhere in Louisiana or nearby state asap. How have you been looking for a new doctor? And the reason I'm asking is because if you're calling them and telling them you need to have certain medications prescribed, none of them are likely to even let you get in the door, because most doctors will see that as drug seeking behavior. Learn more pain management details here. Thus, what you need to do is set up an appointment with a new doctor and just make sure they get a full copy of your records. When they see w...

My husband and I are looking for a new pain management doctor, because the one we go to in Lake Charles, LA seems intent on bleeding us for every penny we have and threatening to not make us appointments for the following month if we don't pay the amount that they tell us we need to pay. My husband is disabled, but is still waiting for his SSI to be approved. In 2008, he was driving a log truck with an unloaded trailer and he was hit head on by a pickup truck. Point of impact was shown to my husband by the Trooper that was there, and it was on my husband's side of the road on the white line. He was trying to ditch the truck instead of get hit, but the guy whipped over too fast for my husband to get to the ditch. This was on a 2 lane blacktop road. The front tire and the tank wit...

Does anyone know of Dr who prescribes MS Contin for pain in Louisiana? Close to Slidell, I just moved here from Tx, and have tried one dr and called numerous with no results. I've tried many alternatives with no luck either and info would be helpful! ## Unfortunately, you will not likely have any good results if you are calling doctors, and asking if they prescribe any controlled substance. The person answering the phone at their office has no way of knowing if the person that called is a legitimate patient with a need, or just a drug seeker, so they are usually instructed to just tell you that they don't prescribe them, and get you off the phone. The same happens with most pharmacies if you just call to ask them about filling a prescription for a controlled substance. The only ...
