Same as many: pain doc retired. Must find a new one. I've been on high doses of pain meds (so I hear) 30mg mscontin 3x day, 20mg oxycodone up to 80mg per day. Doc retired. General MD retired same month! I'm now starting completely over. Insurance: medicaide, HIP, MDWise. Southern Indiana. Can someone please suggest a doctor, or point me in a very helpful "same" direction? Have to wait a month for ins. About to lose my house. Can't work, can't sleep, can't concentrate. I have about 1 month to make something work fast. I cannot go through some long, long, referral here, referral there, back again thing again! Need results! Need doc, now! ## What this government has done is beyond ridiculous! "War on drugs"? The only things I've heard of, as a direct...

I suffer from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis and I need a family dr in Indianapolis (I live on the west side but I will travel to a different side of town) to prescribe my norco 7.5 and high dose neurotin ## I live in the Indpls area. I am in desperate need of a new doctor. My doctor stopped all my meds after 5 years and the office got a new office manager and she thought it was not good for me or my doc therapeutically to prescribe my meds any longer, so I was discharged cold turkey. I have since had seizures and terrible withdraw symptoms. I had to go to emergency room and got very little help so if anyone could find a place in you're heart to lead me in the direction of a really good doctor it would be greatly appreciated. I have a grievance filed upon my behalf by my insu...

DUE TO ILLNESS AND HOSPITALIZATION my Dr has taken a leave of absence from practice cancelled all appointments and refused any refills. I am only on hydrocodone 10mg 5x daily. This left me with nothing no refill to find a new dr or anything someone please help!!!! ## If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of pain, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Finding a new general practice doctor to prescribe this just isn't very likely, at all, now. Are there any in your area? ## I'm looking for a doctor who is open to prescribing suboxone, or subutex for back pain in southern Indiana. ## I would SUE! He got you admitted to them by prescribing u the medications, So he sho...

I'm only 25 years old, but have the spine of someone twice my age with degenerating discs and one herniated disc, due to years of excessive exercise and heavy lifting. Most of the time my pain is under control, but when it gets bad, even on 50mg of hydrocodone a day I can barely move. But of course no doctor wants to prescribe a 25 y/o anything stronger. I've been researching local doctors and pain management centers and one that came up was Dr. Daniel Cha of Valparaiso, IN. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with him and if so, is he any good? and does he not treat you like a total junkie (like many pain management doctors do)? ## yes, ha i WAS his patient. he has no bedside manner, he cut his whole practice down on meds, mg wise. if you got insurance and want to ge...

I have been on 80 mgs of Percocet for a number of ailments for 9years and now because of some kind of law I only get 22,5 mgs a day. I am 62 years old, got hurt 24 years ago and I continued to work even thought I was in pain untio 2007, now I am on disability. have been able to control pain with Percocet. what I don't understand is the fact that I never asked for pain meds but they were prescribed almost 10 years ago and then they r reduced to 1/4 of the strength. ## They will provide you with FREE treatment options. You will not EVER get meds like that again in INDIANA. We are the second strictest state now. They began tapering my hubby off 1/4, then another 1/4, and again 1/4 until he is on 25% of beginning doses after four months. ALL BEFORE the law took affect in December. ## I ...

I moved to Grand Haven, Michigan almost a year ago. I have been on pain medicine for over 4 years due to rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and lupus. I have been traveling back to southern Indiana to see my doctor so I could continue my pain management treatment. I am trying to find a doctor around Grand Haven, Grand Rapids Michigan who is willing to treat chronic pain using pain medication. I am currently on 2 10 mg Vicodin 3 times a day. I have never failed a pill count nor a drug panel. I have detailed medical records to back up all the conditions I mentioned. I appreciate any information you can provide Thanks. ## i am in the same area and also trying to find a good and consistant pain doc. I was just wondering what, if anything you came up with? ## Any luck in Grand rapids? ## I ...

Hello, I was doing wonderfully with my myriad chronic neck and back pain on 16mg Exalgo (generic is hydromorphone extended release) for 3 years with the same doctor, no other pain medication, simply ONE pill/day and never built up a tolerance! I'm certain I don't have to say how very rare THAT was, because it was for ME, as well. After being treated with many potent pain medications that would just quit working after a few weeks, going through endless rounds of useless inj's., one doctor started forcing me to get them done 3 times a week, thereafter I discovered most of the inj's. aren't supposed to be performed more than every three months at the MOST! Due to all the new laws, and also because he is extremely greedy; the doctor who formerly prescribed the Exalgo for...

I need to find a doctor that will prescribe Methadone for pain use. They wont even let me go to clinic because i was on it for pain for many years ## I live in south bend Indiana and was going to a methadone clinic for 8 yrs, I then found a dr. who wrote me 10-10mg pills a day which is 100mg a day. That was what I was on at the clinic. Then I started getting dirty drug panels and after the 4th one he stopped writing for me so I went back to the clinic and they toke me back on with no problems. I have never heard of the methadone clinic turn anyone down due to getting it for pain from a doctor originally. I know too many in Indiana and in Tennessee and Florida who started clinics because of doctors not writing anymore for pain management. ## I know, right. It's unheard of. I even had...

I need to find a doctor in Clay City, In. that will prescribe percocet. ## Why do people need Percocet/oxycodone? I have been reading a lot of posts and I see people Dr. shopping. In order to get pain meds/narcotics/controlled substances, you must go to a licensed Pain Clinic. You have to sign a pain contract, take a U/A every two months and can only get your pain meds from your Pain Clinic. Family doctors, family medical practices and even Sports medicine Centers as well only prescribed Percocet for a very short period of time. An example is when I get a tooth pulled I get 17 Percocet which is enough to last for five days and then your tooth should be healed. I don’t suggest that you keep Dr. shopping because it will catch up with you. What I’m suggesting for these people t...

I live in Portland Indiana. I just can't get a break with these doctors here. My old doctor was in Michigan but I could no longer make the trip up. Doctors here give things my doctor has tried for years only to have them fail for my pain. Norco was only thing that actually worked. I have been pain free till I moved to Indiana. Now I can't get pain management to fill norco, but they offer morphine which I refused, so they refused to see me. Can anyone help here? It's bad enough I have hard time getting out of bed. I just want to live life and function. ## I hope a doctor from Portland see's this. I'm sick of the bureaucrat. To get relief from pain. I'm no way an abuser of norco but all these other meds don't work at all. So any doctor reading this comment, I l...

Is there a pain management doc in Indy that will see you without a referral? I have no family doc but have been seeing a pain management doc since '90's. Is taking away all pain meds except patches. Was taking 10/325 Hydrocodone per day with 25 fentanyl. Every doc I call to see if I can find someone to just leave me where I was requires a referral and records faxed from doctors office. I have my records but they won't take from me. Any help on this would be much appreciated. ## Indygirl, unfortunately there are some patients that try and alter their medical records. That is the reason they want your medical records to be sent directly from your previous drs office. If you can't find a dr that will take you without a referral, you may have to find a pcp. It also isn't...

somewhere close to columbus indiana husband has been taking for 8 years and family doc wont presribe cuz of new dea rules ## There are no new DEA rules governing Methadone. Go to their website and look it up. ## BL is correct, the rules are the same. If he was taking it for addiction/maintenance treatment, then regular doctors have never been able to prescribe it for that. That can only be done in a clinical setting by those specially trained in its use for such. And for pain, the new regulations concern all narcotics, not just Methadone. There have been severe restrictions placed on general practitioners and surgeons regarding what they can and cannot prescribe, so if someone needs such a medication for the long-term treatment of chronic pain, they will have to see a pain management sp...

My husband has lumbago (lower back pain) and I gets pretty bad where it keeps him up at night. He had Medicaid however he's switched to a few doctors and none are willing to give him anything that works for him for pain these days 2 years ago he was on a combination of Valium and norco but since that doctor was no longer available the next doctor would t prescribe them. And since then it has been really hard to get pain meds with all the crack downs on it. He takes naproxen and flex aril and the naproxen doesn't touch the pain Tylenol works sometimes when he's not feeling too bad and ibprophin is a joke. He has asked to stop flexaril when he takes it it upsets his stomach something terrible so today the doctor took him off of it and didn't replace it. He is interested in...

I live in northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne area. My father, 59, has been on varying dosages of morphine since 2005, due to a back injury he got in 1989. As a chronic pain patient, morphine is the one drug that has been able to help him obtain at least some standard of living. The doctor (Dr. William Hedrick) and pain clinic that provided his morphine are now out of business, due to his medical license being suspended for, among other things, dangerous prescribing practices. While my father still has a small quantity of Oxycodone (10 mg three times a day, if I'm not mistaken), but that's not nearly enough to improve his quality of life. Does anyone have any suggestions what to do at this point? He's disheartened, as it took him five years to find a doctor to prescribe the medica...

Doctor who perscribes methadone in indianapolis, indiana for pain ## Drs that treat chronic pain ## Hello, Laura! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no directory of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. What you need to do is set up an appointment with a pain management specialist and go from there. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that location? Melissa, what is your general location? That would make it easier for someone to suggest doctors, if they know of any.

I AM TRYING TO FIND A DOCTOR THAT WILL PRESCRIBE METHADONE FOR CHRONIC PAIN. ITS COMMONLY KNOWN AS DOLOPHINE AND COMES IN 10MG TABLETS. I USUALLY TAKE 40MG PER DAY. IT IS SO MUCH CHEAPER AND MORE CONVENIENT THAN CLINICS. I AM TOO FAR AWAY FROM CLINIC ANYWAY. THANK YOU ## I'm sorry, but there's no central listing of doctors that will prescribe any particular medication and there's never a guarantee when seeing one that they will prescribe anything. The main problem with Methadone is that is so highly habit forming and addictive. This makes most doctors very reluctant to prescribe it for pain, unless everything else has completely failed to work and all other options have been exhausted. Learn more Methadone details here. I have endometriosis And moved to Indiana from Florida last year. And they aren't giving me the meds I was previously on, even though my old pain management dr sent my records. I am in so much pain and not sure what else to do. Please help. This has been such a hard year with this pain. ## No dr has to prescribe you the same meds your previous dr did.
