I am on Medicaid and having trouble finding a physician who takes it much less one that will treat for ADD. I've been treated by another doctor before and diagnosed with ADD along with other issues but that was with BCBS. Please reply if you know of a Medicaid provider in the Birmingham or St Clair County area who will treat ADD/ADHD & precribe necessary medicine. thank you! ## Hello, Angel! How are you? Most PCPs will not treat such a condition and prescribe the appropriate medications, due to the new directives that were set forth by the DEA last year. Most will just refer you to a specialist, which in this case would be a psychiatrist. Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you...

I moved to the Yulee/Fernandina Beach area from Mobile, AL. I need to find a new PC & who's "willing" to prescribe Adderall. I went to one PCP, based on a recommendation, and was treated as though I'm a junkie - I'm a 46 y/o professional. She had my full medical records, and still requested "evidence." She prescribed focalin, which is costing me $257! Insurance only pays on reimbursement level. Took one pill & felt dizzy and nauseous the whole day. Insurance also won't cover "medication checks." I can get a referral to a psychiatrist, but, again, expensive. ## Did you ever find a doctor that worked out for you? I also recently moved to Nassau county and paying to see a psychiatrist. It's costing me a boat load of money every month.

I am a 43 year old female who has fibromyalgia, an autoimmune disease, and from that I have chronic fatigue syndrome, I was giving 30 mg Adderall 4 tabs a day. I no longer see the doctor that was prescribing for me. Now I cannot find anyone to give me this medication. It is the only way I can function, whatsoever. I am now to the point that I am probably going to get a hold of Center for Independent Living and go after these doctors for discrimination because I am beyond had it. It seems like it is the same issue with opiates. These doctors are giving it to the wrong people and not the ones who really need it. Can someone please help me? ## Hello, Gina! How are you? I am very sorry about the issues you are experiencing. What is going on that makes you feel they are discriminating agains...

I have had adult onset narcolepsy/EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness) for 2 years and have tried almost all anti-depressants to try to alleviate the problem. I recently completed a sleep study and they found no sleeping disorders, so everything points to narcolepsy. My psychiatrist has been extremely unhelpful so it's time to find a new doctor. I live in northern Wisconsin but am willing to travel anywhere in the midwest to get real help. Please help if you can, need an effective neurologist or psychiatrist. ## Hello, Charley! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. If you need such a medication, then you'll need to see a doctor that is near you and you'll have to use a pharmacy that is also nearby. Since Adderall is a controlled substance that ...

I've had adhd since childhood and it has gotten increasingly worse. I've tried EVERYTHING and found that only these two medications really work. My doctor dropped me due to something regarding Obamacare and I NEED to have my prescriptions refilled! These drugs have literally brought my life back to normal! Please tell me of a doctor who understands the severity of the condition and will prescribe the right medications somewhere in Southwest Florida. ## Obamacare has to do with getting medical coverage, not whether or not your doctor treats you. And as to getting the medications that work for you, you'll need to see a new doctor and make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records. Once they can see what has and hasn't worked for you, as documented by fellow ph...

near mayfair pa, need dr who prescribes Adderall and controlled substances klonopin. frankfor ave known to prescribe adderall ## Hello, Monica! How are you? If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, due to the new restrictions set forth last year by the DEA, you'll need to see a specialist. A general practice physician won't be able to prescribe them for you. Thus, you'll need to see a psychiatrist. According to the FDA, all of the listed medications carry the risk of being habit forming and nay cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia and weight loss. Additionally, since Adderall and Klonopin tend to counteract each other in action, many doctors will be reluctant to prescribe both. Do you currently have a PCP that might be able ...

Hi, I have recently moved back to the new orleans area and need a doctor who liberally prescribes adderall. Any suggestions in the new orleans/metarie/ westbank area would be great. Thanks in advance ## Adderall is typically prescribed by psychiatrists and pediatricians, while general practitioners typically prescribe the medication for certain off-label uses. That said, I would consider finding psychiatrists and/or pediatricians in your area as opposed to a regular medical doctor. Reason being is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and many general physicians are reluctant to prescribe controlled substances due to abuse and the heavy regulations that they have to abide by from the government. I know this isn't a direct answer to your ...

New to the area and looking for a doctor who won't be a pain about prescribing Ritalin or Adderall for adult ADHD. ## Well, the best thing you can do is to make an appointment with a new doctor and not ask for any particular medication up front. You need to get in for an appointment first and then discuss your treatment options. However, since these are controlled substance medications, doctors do have to be careful about prescribing them, so you aren't going to find a doctor that will just be carefree and throw prescriptions at you. Learn more Ritalin details here. Learn more Adderall details here. Does anyone know of a doctor in this area that they can recommend? ## Looking for dr. in NE Indiana that prescribes Ritalin/adderall without doing pharmacy checks, and doesnt give yo...

Will methadone clinic prescribe methadone while taking Adderall ## I'm wondering the same thing, I'm considering going to a methadone clinic and I have been prescribed adderal for years for my ADHD. ## It seems that it would depend on the sole discretion of the doctor who prescribes the methadone, as to my understanding, every physician sets different standards based on their own developed moral instincts, ethics and legal boundaries. However, to assume that it is illegal to prescribe these two meds together would be total nonsense in my opinion, which leads me to believe that they do have the ability to prescribe whatever it is they want to prescribe within reason. Whether or not they act on their ability to do so is another story.

I live in ga. Me and my husband have been going to pain management for several year but every few months dea shuts them down. If anyone knows of a pain management clinic anywhere in ga that prescribes 120-180 oxycodone (30mg), 60-90 xanax (2mg) and 60-90 adderall (30mg) please let me know the name and number of it. My husband has been out of his meds for a week and we both really need to find a dr asap. ## Try a pain management location in acworth. Where are you located in Georgia? Its always good to know a few people who take the same medication you do so if you run out or some other emergency situation happens they can possibly help you with a few till you can get your meds. I know of a few other Drs. Unfortunately you can't leave your email on here to talk privately because alot ...

Does taking 15mg adderall twice a day equal out to 30 IR the whole day or is it 15 mg due to spreading out during the day? ## It equals 30mg total for that 24 hour period. Kind of confused by your question. Whatever you have taken (total) over a 24 hour period is how much you've taken "a day". If your doctor prescribes 15mg twice a day then those doses should be separated by 4-6 hours. ## Hello A, So this might get a little confusing but I'll do my best to keep it as simple as possible. Drugs have something called a half life cycle which is the duration that it takes your body to metabolize half of the active ingredients in your blood stream. It is generally accepted that it takes 4-6 half cycles to completely remove all of the active ingredients. With this in mind we ca...

I'm looking for a doctor in the Kansas City Missouri area who prescribes Adderall without going through a psychiatrist. ## Hello, Amie! How are you? Technically, any doctor with their license to practice medication could prescribe it, however, due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, most will not and will require you to go to a psychiatrist. To avoid improper prescribing and over prescribing, it's been decided that it's best for specialists to handle the prescribing of such medications. Doctors can, in some cases, prescribe them for existing patients, without any issues, but most have just gone hands-offs. The FDA lists Adderall as a stimulant that is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause s...

Hi I need to find a psychiatrist in san diego who prescribes klonpin and adderal. My old doctor switched professions, and nobody else is comfortable giving me these two. Though, they work well for me and I have no history of addiction at all. Please let me know. ## Hi Chloe, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you....
