Hi I want to start using oralcon but i'm on my 3rd day of my period. Which colour pill should i start using? Everyone says the red pill? ## Hello, Mia! How are you? No, you should start with the white tablets and since you are not starting the first day of your period, you should use backup protection for the first full 7 days of taking the active white tablets. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi I have been taking oralcon for 2 months now but I have taken the red pills only. 1 remains but still I'm not menstruating. Is that a problem? ## Hello, Betty! How are you? In order for these tablets to induce menstruation, you have to take the other tablets, too. There are no active ingredients in the red pills, so they won't do anything to cause you to have a period if they are the only ones you take. It is the break they give you from the hormones in the other tablets that causes you to have a period. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had an emergency pill about 3 weeks before i started using the Oralcon pills, and took my 1st pill on the 2nd day of my menstruation, although my periods were not normal because of the emergency pill, but i still had my periods at that time, with less bleeding than usual. I'm on my 3rd pack of the Oralcon pills now, and i never had any periods since my 2nd pack, even when I'm on the red pills. I'm worried now, i want my periods back. Is there any possibility that I'm pregnant? I never skipped any pills and i always took them at the same time everyday. Or its it because i started using the Oralcon pills with abnormal periods? Please help.. ## Hello, Judith! How are you? Some women just don't have periods while taking hormonal contraceptives like this, there's no...

I recently started using oralcon, when I got to the red tablets I thought that's when your period starts but my friend told me otherwise when I asked her. So I continued it and eventually got my period. I now started my 2nd pack. Was I supposed to take the pill during my period? I've been doing research and I read about a 7 day tablet-free week. I'm a bit confused ## Yes, the red tablets are the week you should get your period. And yes, you should take them even while on your period. The regular OralCon has 3 weeks of active tablets, then the one week of red that are placebo tablets that allow a withdrawal bleed to occur. They are used to help keep you in the habit of taking a pill each day, to try to keep from forgetting to take the active ones and raising your risk of preg...

I am drinking my last white pill today and starting with the red pill tomorrow, my period started this morning, is this okay? ## Yes, irregular bleeding can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, according to the NIH. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms. How long have you been taking it? Side effects usually last for about the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to this medication.

Hi i been using oralcon a few months back had no problems until now. I stared a new pack the first week of this month but decided on stopping because I was away for a week so I didn't see the reason to take it since I wasn't active. I had my period which was surprising, however I decided on taking the same pills at the start of my period. I stop taking the pills after my period was finished, only to find out this morning I was bleeding again. Is this because I continued from the same pack?, why? I don't understand hence: what do u suggest I use because am scared I won't be able to have kids when am ready and I don't think I wanna use oralcon anymore ## Hello, Neika! How are you? I am 47 years old and on the 28th August i started spotting on and off for about 2 weeks before my period started. My period has now been going for about 3 weeks non stop. I visited the clinic and they gave me Oralcon and said that I must take 2 white tablets immediately and thereafter 1 a day until my period stops. After the 2nd day of taking Oralcon my period had stopped but I was experiencing terrible stomach pain so I stopped taking the Oralcon and my period has started again. I dont have medical aid and I am unemployed so this is really stressing me terribly. What can I do? Is this normal for someone my age? Before this my last 2 periods only lasted 2 or 3 days then stopped. ## Hello Lee, Oralcon is a medicine that contains hormones that work to help regulate your period and preven...

This is my first time using the Oralcon. 1. I'm currently breastfeeding my 5 month old baby and I realized when I started the pill my milk production is less. Could the pill be the cause. Also 2. I've taken all 21 of the white pills and I'm on my third red pill and my period is here. Do I stop taking the red pills and start taking another set of white ones or do I continue taking the red pills until its finished before I start another pack? ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? Yes, you should continue taking them and then start a new pack once you finish this one, according to the NIH. As to milk production, the NIH does not that anything that may affect your hormones could also change your milk production. Is your baby still being adequately fed? Hi, I was on the 2 month injection, immediatley after I started on oralcon. I stopped taking it because of personal reasons. Now I want to start again but not sure when to take the first tablet? When do I take the first oralcon tablet? ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? For immediate protection from pregnancy, you should take the first tablet on the first day of your period. However, if you want to start it at any other time, you can do so, but it will take 7 days to reach its full efficacy level in your body, so you'll have to use some other form of protection for that first week. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hey I have been using oralcon for five days now nd I'm new to it I didn't start with da pill on my period my boyfriend nd I slept together last night but the condom burst ....could I get pregnant because I woke up sick ... ## Hello, Nunkils! How are you doing? You wouldn't be showing pregnancy symptoms that fast. Yes, there is a risk, if you had only taken them for 5 days, but I think you most likely just woke up sick, because you were worried about it. When are you due for your period? You need to wait until then and have yourself tested, if you go a week or more late.

Hi, I just got my first Oralcon tablet and I'm on my second period so I don't know which tablet to take. I just want to know if you only take the red pill if you're on your period then when white if you're not? ## If you are new to taking them, you should take them in order, as prescribed, whether you are bleeding, or not. Irregular bleeding can be a side effect of the tablets, when you first start them, and should go away with time, once your body gets used to the change in your hormone levels. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
