3 Topics FoundI have been told by my Neurologist that this drug Diltiazem cd can cause Parkinson like symptoms in a small group of people. Where can i find more info about this? ## Can somebody explain to me what the differences are between Diltiazem CD 180mg Cap(sule?) vs. Diltiazem HCL ER 180mg Cap(sule?). If I remember correctly, a pharmacist told me that the ER stood for extended release and that the CD type of the medication was quite different, but I'm not sure about that. From what you've listed in your post, they are the same and have just been manufactured by different companies. With generics, it's common for your pharmacy to switch, depending on which company was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, lowered heart rate and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

My new Dr has me on "diltiaz er xr". My previous Dr had me on "diltiaz er cd". Is there a difference? ## They are both the same, just different ways of designating them as being time released. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am losing my hair which I read may be a side effect of Diltiazem. Is this true.
