What is the narcotic in dilaudid .. is it the same as oxy or hydrocodon ? Just more poteant ## Yes they are the same thing which is opiate based pain pills. some stronger than others, flyboy ## Hello, Flyboy! How are you? As listed by the FDA, Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, so yes, it is another opioid analgesic. To give a comparison on the strength from RPH, you only need .75 of Dilaudid to equal each 10mgs of Oxycodone, thus, it is much stronger. 2 on one side, M on other, approximately 1/8 (slightly larger) in diameter; found in nephew's old suboxone bottle. He does not recognize the pills (there are 3 of them). Says suboxone pills are different from these. He is in treatment from the VA but started with a private doc. Has NO reason to lie about this because if they are suboxone, he can use them as spares if he can't get to his dosing appt. But doesn't want to if the he dosage is not what he's on. Could this be a pain med? He's been on some in ## This tablet contains 2mgs of Hydromorphone, a generic for Dilaudid. Yes, this is a narcotic pain medication.

I came across this pill in my medicine cabinet and I have no idea what it is or how it got there. It's a small white round pill with the number 8 imprinted on one side and blank on the other. I'm Canadian, btw, so i think it may be some generic version of another drug. Any help? ## Someone who was looking for this same pill had suggested that it may have been Dilaudid (8mg); however I can't seem to find any specific details online that might help verify this. Dilaudid is used to relieve moderate to severe pain and severe, painful dry coughing. Does the name of this drug sound vaguely familiar at all, based on past prescriptions?

However, nausea can be one of its side effects and since pills are not intended to be dissolved and injected, that probably explains why you were so ill. When you do that, you are injecting all of the medication, at once and it doesn't get a chance to dissolve slower, like it would if you swallowed the tablet.
