what does a dilaudid 30 mg look like color shape and ## There is no 30mg Dilaudid pill on the U.S. market. Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone and regular release tablets are only available in a maximum of 8mgs, the extended release in 16mgs and and extended release capsule in 32mgs. There are also generics on the market and they will all have different markings to enable their identification. Are there any markings on the tablet you are questioning? If so, please post back with them and I will gladly check it for you to see what it contains. ## The extended release were taken off the market by the FDA.

medium white tablet with a M that has a square around it and a 4 on the back ## Pill Image This is NOT Dilaudid, that would be Hydromorphone. This pill is a generic version of Tylenol with Codeine, it contains Acetaminophen 300mgs and Codeine 60mgs. It is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. ## But an easy mistake to make. Mallinckrodt does make a generic 4 mg hydromorphone tablet. It is round, white, 5/16 diameter. Imprinted with block M on one side, 4 on the other. However, the hydromorphone does NOT have a box around the M like the codeine does.

I am having a hard time finding info on this drug. Are these the same drug? What do the pills look like, for both of them? Can they be taken together with vicodin? ## Diludid is brand name for the drug HydroMorphone. Diludin is a common mis-pronunciation of Diludid. 2.Hydromorphone is a white pill with an M on one side and either 2,4,8 on the other (depending on the milligram) there is also a New hydromorphone out. It has time release on it and will have EX and either 8,12,16 underneath the EX -3.yes you can take it with vicodin if your opiate-tolerant meaning that you use opiates on a regular basis. ## To anyone viewing this post now, there are many more Dilaudid pills on the market now, as well as generic equivalents, so many more markings are out there. You can learn more Dilaudid de...

I was wondering if they make DILAUDID in the ER form also. Meaning time released form? ## Yes, they do. It's available in 8, 12, 16 and 32mg extended release dosages, it's actually called Exalgo. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi. I was cleaning my 16 year-old son's room and found a bottle of little, round yellow pills. About 30 of them. My heart sank. I think they are dilaudid or hydromorphone, at least what I've been able to glean from the research I've done. But I am not sure; I cannot find any reference to the inscripted P on one side (4 is on the other) vs. the K or M commonly found with dilaudid. Can anyone help me identify it? ## I am sorry to hear about your findings ... and sadly, yes, the pills which you have described are Dilaudid 4 mg. The manufacturer's product sheet states "DILAUDID 4 mg TABLETS are yellow, debossed with a P on one side and the number 4 on the opposite side." (PDF format, page 18). I wish you and your son the best with this. Do you have any other question...

Hello everyone, Currently i am prescribed 16mg orally of dilaudid every 3-4 hours. I have just begun my 1st day of weaning myself off by cutting down to 14 mg for this next whole week, with the help of valium. I will continue to cut down like this until the last dose. Now i understand that this is an extremely high dose but im focusing on getting off of it and not worrying about how i got on it. The reason it got so high was because i have this chronic severe chest pain that after 4 1/2 months they have been unable to find a reason for the pain. Last week in the hospital i was in so much pain and and didnt know why until i found out that some idiot dr. cut my dilaudid dose in half, so i was screaming and pain and going through severe withdrawl. I know i have a long tough road ahead of m...

I was on 30 mg Roxie 3x day, plus 15 mg Roxie 1x day, but doctor now changed and gave me 2 8 mg of dilaudid a day to be taken just 1/2 pill every 6 hours. Not working for me and it's almost 3 months and it's worse not better as he said I needed that time to let it all in my system. I'm really upset as pain level is back to what it was twenty years ago when I first began pain melds after bad auto accident. ## Hello, Shar! How are you? Yes, if you're maximum of the Dilaudid is 16mgs a day, then you are on a much lower dosage, rather than an equivalent one. To be equal to the 105mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking each day, you'd actually need 39mgs of the Dilaudid. Thus, it's not you, this is really nowhere near as potent. The FDA classifies this medication as a ...

Hey everyone, im recently cutting down from 16mg of dilaudid every 3-4 hrs to im at 4mg every 4 hrs now. Ive been on dilaudid for 10 months for a tumor that went undiagnosed for 8 months. Most doctors thought i was just drug seeking because they couldnt find out what was causing my pain, so im relieved they finally found something and i had it removed and i feel so much better. Now all my other problems are solved except for the dilaudid dependance. Any tips on getting off this stuff. It gets extremely unbearable after just 5 hours from the last dose. I know i dont need it for pain anymore, i just want to be off everything and back to normal. Any help would be appreciated. ## Hey, that's all normal. I'm in the same boat but w/oxycodone. 16 hours post op. Wondering if I can safely take dilaudid and Tylenol 3's. Not at the same time but every 3 hours or so as both are prescribed every 4-6 hours. For example, a dilaudid at noon a t3 at 3:00 pm another dilaudid at 6pm and so on. ## Hello, Ganeen! How are you? Yes, you can do that, as long as your doctor approaches, you'd just be staggering when you take each one. The FDA classifies Dilaudid as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. For the past year I have been taking Exalgo 16mg 5 pills in the morning with 8mg of Dilaudid for b/t pain. I had a severe back injury 4 yrs. ago. In the past I have taken Oxyicontin w/roxy & Mophine Sulfate w/a low dose morphine for b/t . Each pair for a little over a year. The Oxycontin was the best for my pain, I was able to function better. I transformed from an ambitious friendly person to a fowl mouthed demon. Awful!! Morphine after 1 1/2 years and losing five teeth, I was sure I had Alzheimers. I had no recall, couldn't remember names or how to do things. Now on Exalgo w/Dilaudid for b/t. It does not give me great pain relief but mentally I am close to normal, except for the depression, I cannot shake, for 3 years now. Please I need help with getting a new prescription. I ...

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis nine years ago. I've had a lamectomy, a spinal fusion, and numerous outpatient surgeries since then without success. I've been prescribed methadone HCL (30 mg every 12 hours); Valium (5 mg every 8 hours); Butalbital ((APAP-CAFF 50-300-40 every 8 hours for headaches complicated by these opiate combinations); and dilaudid (16 mg every 8 hours) since then. It is important to know that I have a high level of tolerance to these opiates. In fact, even with these prescriptions my pain score is consistently 7-8/10. As of late, surprisingly, within 15-20 minutes of taking dilaudid I experience strong heart palpitations, which go away within 20-30 minutes of deep breathing and lying down with my legs elevated. However, I'm now really worried and af...

My dr switched my oxycodone 30mg to dilaudid 8 mg. I am wondering how they compare to one another? ## Based on my research, Dilaudid is much stronger then Oxycodone, but it doesn't last very long in it's immediate release formula. Oxycodone has an extended release formula (Oxycontin); which may be better suited for some people when used chronically for long term pain relief. 8mg of Dilaudid is "roughly equivalent" to 20mg of Oxycodone. This information is based on my own findings and is not relative to each individual's body chemistry or cross tolerance, as every drug can effect each person differently. I hope this info helps! ## what mg of dilaudid is equal to 15 mg of oxycodone? ## 16MG of dilaudid(2 8mg tabs) is equal to 30mg oxycodone. Swallowing dilaudid is way ...

My doctor knew nothing about how this medication would work in my system. And am upset because my behavior changed drastically while taking it with the Fetenyl pain patch. Doctor then changed me to hydrocodone quickly one day. He had given me so much I had memory loss and ultimately a stroke. Anyone else have same trouble with this dose of diladid.? Doctor insisted I take it until memory loss set in. ## I am very sorry about what happened to you. However, no one can know how any given medication will affect anyone, if they've never taken it before. Opiates have been known to cause personality changes in some people that take them, as well as memory issues, as listed by the FDA. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such...

I've been prescribed to these meds for almost 3 years now. I have been taking Ms Contin for almost 7 years. In the past 4 months or so I have noticed my pain becoming significantly worse and also my Ms Contin tablets weighing less than they used to as well as tasting like salt. I take the brand name Ms Contin 100mg and 60mg from Purdue Pharma L.P. and I always have. I take brand of practically every medication I'm prescribed to, including Duragesic 100mcg and Dilaudid 8mg. I am not very happy I am back on Dilaudid again, as I was on it prior to moving around here and was taking over 2x the dose I currently am along with Actiq 1200 and 1600mcg and never found the Dilaudid to work well on my pain. The Actiq did, but only for up to an hour max. I actually asked to be taken off Acti...

I was just changed from the best pain meds I have found in 12 years of chronic pain (Exalgo ER 16mg + 4mg x 4 for breakthrough) because of a Medicare deal. Now I'm dealing with Opana ER 30mg twice daily and 10mg hydromorphone. So far the itching hasn't killed me, but I am reminded of why we switched in the first place. On the other hand, the strength seems more... I haven't been able to fill Opana ER (from Thurs to Tues is a long haul especially if I didn't have a spouse who hide meds when I need them to...) My math sucks. Not as much as withdrawal or OD though. What's the conversion? Happy Florist's Day! My first day here, glad I found you. ## Yes, you are on a slightly higher dosage, now. Thats why it feels like the strength is more. This is a narcotic analgesi...

I have been taking two to three 8mg Dilaudid ,iv, for the past 3 years. I am desperately wanting to take suboxone and get off the D. I had done a quarter of a D right before bed then 6 hours later I did a half of a sub strip. I was able to go to work and I was fine. I am wanting to do the same thing now and get off of this junk but after I see people that wait I see people that waited 16 hours to take a sub and I still went in to precipitated withdrawals. Did I just have a stroke of luck the first time around or is it possible to have the same results again? I pray to God its possible! Any useful insight is welcome. ## Before starting Suboxone, you actually need to be in full withdrawals.
