Different Doses Of Alprazolam

I have been taking Lonazep + Alprazolam since 2011 for the treatment of mental stress, anxiety and also sleeplessness. Both, I am taking daily at night before sleep in the doses of 0.5mg each. Now it seems that 0.5mg of Alprazolam is not effective for the purpose of sleep disorder. Can I increase its dose without consultation with my doctor? ## No I wouldn't do that without speaking to your Doctor first ## Xanax is not really an effective sleep aid anyway due to it's rather short half-life. Just want to know how strong it is? I only weight 110 pounds. ## Hi andrea, G 372 2 is identified as Xanax (Alprazolam) 2 mg. I can only imagine that the 2mg tablets are going to be pretty potent if you've never taken Xanax before; as 2mg is a high dose of this particular drug. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure would be to try it; simply because these medications can affect each individual differently. If you find that 2mgs is too strong, you can always divide the pill into smaller doses to help assess your tolerance. Will xanax come up with lorazapam in a urine test as basically a benzo? ## Xanax is a benzodiazepine so will show as that in a urine test but it is different from lorazepam as are other benzodiazepines such as, diazepam, clonazepam, temazepam etc. The real name for Xanax is Alprazolam and are more addictive and harder to come off. I live in UK and we don't get Xanax here legally. They give you a nice feeling though. You can get 2 mg bars or 1 mg football shaped ones known as Upjohn. You can also get them in smaller doses. 0.5 mg is the lowest I've ever seen.. Hope this helps you somewhat...
