I have inflammation in my back and was taking a pill called Cataflam 50mg but it does not work and still hurts. Can I take a cti 103 (Diclofenac Sodium 75mg) pill instead? Can it cause a problem with your kidneys? ## The sodium in the name just refers to the type of chemical salt it is derived from, so no, it will not raise your sodium levels. However, Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and, as such, it is generally not advised to be used by people with high blood pressure, because it can cause fluid retention, which may lead to congestive heart failure. I was given diclofenac sod 75mg for joint pain. I also have a severe fluid retention problem which I take meds. for also, could this contribute to this problem? I have severe pain from a fracture in my vertebrae. I am currently taking diclofex 75mg SR(prolonged release diclofenac sodium tablets) twice a day but it's just not doing the job and my pain is still bad most of the time. Can I take paracetamol or another pain relief med once a day as well?
