Diclofenac For Back Pain

I'm going in for a root canal in three days. It hurts bad and the only pain killer I have is a couple of diclofenac that my doc gave me for gout. Will diclofenac help alleviate tooth pain? ## It's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that can be used to treat pain, fever, and swelling, so it may help, but checking with a doctor or dentist would be best. My eldery lady has back pain all the time, she is confined to her recliner and she doesn't walk. Will this combination of diclofenac, gabapentin & lidocaine help alleviate her back pain? I have been prescribed diclofenac gel and was wondering if there are any side effects. I was given this as oral nsaids are very hard on my stomach. Also, is this beneficial for a condition called Trigger finger? ## It can cause the same side effects as other NSAIDs, however, since it is topical, your body doesn't tend to absorb as much of it, so this prevents these problems for most people. Can my 13 year old (140 lbs. 5'5") take diclofenac Dr 75 mg for back pain due to a pulled muscle? ## Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's only available by prescription, due to the risks of side effects it can cause, such as stomach ulceration and increased risk of bleeding, thus it shouldn't be given to your child, unless a doctor has said that it is safe for them to take it. My insurance won't cover any treatment for trigger finger (it's actually my thumb) but my doctor put me on 75mg Diclofenac 2x/daily. How long does it typically take to get rid of this condition? I've had trigger thumb for a month now and the doctor just put me on Diclofenac last week because it didn't just go away on it's own. I'm basically wondering how much longer I have to have a useless left hand!
