What is the difference between diclofen pot 50mg tab mylan and diclofenac pot 50mg? I've been taking the latter of these for years however this time the script showed up as the diclofen pot 50mg mylan. Should I be concerned? Should I return it to the pharmacy? ## Hi Ron, Diclofen is actually reported to be a common misspelling or abbreviation of Diclofenac. So there shouldn't be any differences in the "active ingredients". However it is important to note that different brands/manufacturers often use a different set of "inactive" ingredients (known as binders/fillers). These are known to have an impact on the drug's overall bioavailability. Other than that, they appear to be the exact same medication and dosage. I hope this helps!

I have inflammation in my back and was taking a pill called Cataflam 50mg but it does not work and still hurts. Can I take a cti 103 (Diclofenac Sodium 75mg) pill instead? Is Cataflam 50mg weaker than Diclofenac Sodium 75mg? ## Hi Evenlyn, Sorry to hear about your back condition. I hope you feel better soon! To answer your question, in short, yes, 50mg is weaker than 75mg. Cataflam is simply another brand name of Diclofenac; so it's pretty much the exact same thing at a different dosage, albeit the suffix is potassium with Cataflam instead of sodium as with the common/standard Diclofenac (& I'm not certain as to whether either mineral makes any notable difference in bioavailability/potency). As to whether or not you can take 75mg instead of 50mg, that's entirely up to yo...

I would like to know if there are any possible side effects from taking diclofenac 50mg and zetia and topamax. I would also like to know what smoking has to do with diclofenac, and also methotrexate. This is not a habit forming medication, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so she should be able to just stop taking it, as long as her doctor approves. However, as warned by the FDA, it may cause some rebound pain and diarrhea, if she stops it. As to her sciatica, whether or not anything can cure or help it depends on the root cause. Needing to know if i could take both my meds bupropion xl 300mg and diclofen pot 300mg ## I take Bupropion 300XL, (generic Wellbutrin), and my doctor gave me a Rx for Diclofen Pot 50MG. Our pharmacist knows all my prescriptions and didn't mention any problem taking them both. I haven't noticed any side effects. Anti-inflammatory class drugs can mess with my stomach, but that's all. Speaking of Bupropion, I wish more doctors prescribed it rather than the SSRI drugs. Those are terrible. Made me so sleepy, gain weight and lose my libido. What a difference getting on Bupropion. None of those side effects. Actually "increased" my libido. Lost 30 pounds, that I'd put on taking the SSRI's. ## Thanks for the feedback LarryV (post #1), I just wanted to confirm through...

I have had headaches for about 30 years. I have been to many doctors and tried a dozen or so medications while spending well over $10,000 and having good insurance. Three years ago a neurologist proscribed Diclofinic pot 50. It worked like a charm! I was amazed. Now I get a letter saying effective 1/1/19 Humanna is not going to cover it, at all. Not put it another more expensive class but just not cover it at all. Does anyone know why? It’s not an opioid drug. They recommend Diclofinic sot? Never heard of it. Can someone please weigh in on this. I’m scared. ## Hello Kurtiss, According to the NIH Diclofenec pot 50 is simply a 50mg dose of diclofenac potassium, also known as cataflam. Looking on the NIH's list of medication there seem to be a large number of generics avail...
