i am taking 75mg of diclofenac twice a day. How safe is this drug. the internet says it is the most dangerous of all nsaids. Is this true at this dosage? ## Hi Roger, From what I could gather, the usual adult dose of Diclofenac ranges from 25-50 mg orally 3 to 4 times a day or 75 mg orally twice a day. Diclofenac Extended-release dosages are usually administered at 100 mg orally once a day. A number of webpages also make a point of mentioning that the maximum daily dose of Diclofenac is: 225 mg; or 200 mg if you're taking the extended release version. In my opinion, 75mg twice daily (150 mg total daily dose) should be fine for most individuals. However, dangerous side effects can happen with any drug depending the person. Can you take Tylenol with Diclofenac sod 100mg to relieve lower back pain? ## From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions or contraindications listed between Tylenol and Diclofenac. So based on that information, you should be fine taking the two together without experiencing any such complications. The main concern with Tylenol (acetaminophen) in my honest opinion, is just staying within safe dosing limits, due to it's notorious reputation for causing liver damage at higher doses and/or when taken for a prolonged period of time. My husband is taking prescribed ibuprofen 800mg but is still in much knee pain and a friend gave him this medicine before going to the doctor and took it but forgot to ask doctor if he can continue it and doctor never mentioned if he should stop it ## No, he should not take them both. Both Diclofenac and Ibuprofen are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so it would be essentially doubling up on the same medication and could increase the risk of him experiencing dangerous bleeding episodes, stomach ulceration and liver damage, as reported by the FDA. He should check with his doctor to see which one is safest for him to take. Is there anything else I can help with?

My pill bottle has 2 different tablets in it. The label says Diclofenac 100 mg. One tablet is round and peach-colored with GG 904 printed on one side. The other one is a same-size round pink with 93 on one side and 1401 on the other. ## GG 904 is Diclofenac XR 100 mg and I also located the other pill but it says 93 1041 instead of 93 1401. 93 1041 is also round and pink, this pill is Diclofenac 100 mg. I have been taking diclofenac sod 75 mg ec tab twice a day for about a month, for arthritis in my ankle. It helps early in the day, but does not last until the next pill is due. Same with the one I take in the evening, and when I get up in the morning I can barely walk. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and a higher dose won't necessarily give you a longer time of efficacy, but from what I am reading some people with Arthritis do take it up to 3 times a day, as long as they don't go over 200mgs daily.
