I have pseudo tumor cerebri & was given this drug to reduce some of the pressure in my head. Every week I face several severe side effects, what drug could I recommend to replace this one? ## If you're just using Diamox Sequels (Acetazolamide XR) for glaucoma (intraocular pressure) as it's indications state, then I would consider trying medical marijuana as an alternative replacement with less side effects. I can't say for sure that it will work as well or better, but if you are wanting to avoid such severe side effects, it could be a viable option. Personally, I feel that it works very well for me if I ever have pressure in my head and want a "lighter" feeling, per say. I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and put on Diamox. I live up north and want to relax in the sun while we still have it, but the bottle says to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Why does it say that? ## Because many medications, such as Diamox, make you more sensitive to the effects of the sun, which means you could burn much sooner than you expect, or develop heat stroke much faster than your normally would. Learn more Diamox details here. Thus, sun exposure should be avoided. However, if you really want to spend time out in it and your doctor approves, then you should make sure to cover as much of your body as possible and use a high SPF sun protectant on any exposed skin. What are the main side effects of Diamox (Acetazolamide) Slow Release Tablets? ## Hello, D. Thomas! How are you? And at this point, I have must agree with you and my opinion shall remain this way, unless someone provides information on this substance and proves otherwise. There have been many people that have asked about it, to be honest, if it cures cancer, I'd like to know about it myself, since my dad is stage 4… However, in spite of my repeated searching of both paid and free resources, I have been unable to find a single piece of information on it, no studies, no identification of the active substance, no mention of it in any resources that I've tried, whatsoever. Does anyone have more specific details on it?

However, the best thing to do would be to obtain a new supply, before going off on your trip to be sure that it's effective and safe. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, fatigue, drowsiness, depression and bitter taste. How often do you take it?

I have pseudo tumor cerebri and just got a lumbar puncture AKA a spinal tap for it. After that I was prescribed diamox to keep the pressure down and the doctor told me I shouldn't take recreational drugs such as cannabis or alcohol. Being a college student this is a bit of an issue because I'm going to be on this medication for the next 8 months or so. I have been taking Xyzal (levocetirizine dihydrochloride) along with ornidazole 500mg + ofloxacin 200mg for four days now to treat a UTI. I have also been on diamox and slow-k., along with drulatan and brimopress eye drops for my open-angle glaucoma. However, my eye pressure just keeps increasing since I started the treatment for the urinary tract infection. Could any of the antibiotics or the levocetirizine be causing it? Thanks.

Does anyone know does this medication works for swollen feet and ankles? ## It helps me very much. ## I have been taking Furosemide for a couple of years now and it definately helps with swollen feet and ankles. I take 40mg twice a day. I have never had any problems taking this medicine. ## My daughter has been prescribed Furosdmide 20mg and Diamox 500 mg for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. She has been on them 7 days and so far has not had increased urination. Has anybody who has been on these drugs know how long it usually takes for this to kick in?
