This medicine was used during my tear duct surgery. Is this normal. My insurance company will not pay for it. ## I'm sorry, but do not have any surgeons on site, so we have no information on what medications may, or may not be necessary during surgery, of any type. My father has been diagnosed with lung cancer that metastasized to the brain. First symptoms were loss of control over righ hand and claw like posture of fingers. HE was prescribed dexamethasone to reduce swelling in the brain resulting from metastasis. Stereotactic radio surgery (radiation focused on the metastasis only) was performed to treat brain metastasis. I am taking this for ITP to try to raise up my platelets. an average persons platelets are about 1500 mine are about 50. I started taking 5 4mg pills a day for two weeks. got to the 3rdday of the second week and my body felt like I was going to explode, I gained 10 pounds.
