Woke up this am feeling great, been off suboxone for almost 2 days. Slept great too! Been reading my bible and praying. Going to look to get some B12 . ## Awesome, DeeDee! I'm very glad that you're doing so well. It's only been 2 days, so you may still experience some withdrawal symptoms, so please be on the watch for them. According to the NIH, they may include nausea, drowsiness, fever/chills and diarrhea. What dosage were you taking and how long were you on it?

I am a 3 time loser who needs free detox today in joplin mo or I'm going back to prison. somebody please give me a hand. I never had one growing up. I need help or I'm going to have to find other ways to get money for medicine to stop my pain ## Hello, Slams! How are you? I'm very sorry about the predicament that you're in. Have you tried contacting any social workers, such as those are your nearest large hospital? They may have a list of free or low-cost places that could help you. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I had a work injury that crushed several discs in my neck and I have recently undergone fusion surgery which went well. However, I was not prepared for the pain I experienced. I have been on 10/325 norco for 7 weeks. I only took the Appropriate Rx amount or less; never more than 5 pills in a day. When I got to the point where I felt like I could manage the pain, I quit taking norco cold turkey. I wigged out. I experienced gnarly anxiety, mood swings, burning in my legs and feet, nausea, and elevated bp. I am trying to wean off the drug on my own but am super discouraged. Can anyone give me pointers on exactly how to do this? ## Have you consulted your doctor for advice? Your body will get used to any medication you take regularly, for awhile, even if you don't abuse it and take more...

I have a large and long opiate habit and no matter how long i wait to switch to subutex i go into heavy wd's. At times i should have been in the hospital. Any suggestions? ## Hello, Andrew! How are you? You do have to be in full withdrawal, already, before you can take it, even though it doesn't contain the Naloxone like Suboxone. The Buprenorphine itself tends to cling to the opiate receptors much stronger than other opiates do, so taking it to early can also cause you to go into full withdrawal. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How long have you usually waited to take it? What instructions did your doctor provide?

Be extremely careful with this matter. You're literally playing with death if done improper. You are at a high risk of seizures and withdrawl may take a week or so. I was in jail on 120 mg. of methadone and taking only 2 2mg of xanax daily. Within three days I was admitted to the icu unit of a local hospital for nearly a week. I absolutely knew nothing- not even how to eat. I had had a severe seizure. Loading someone up with phenabarbs every couple of hours for approximately 12 hours at first, then prn for two or three days, is perhaps the best way to go. Remember, xanax is Life threatening. Most other drug withdrawal is not with the exception of alcohol. ## I freaked an E.R doctor out when I finally decided to present myself, about one week into a withdrawal. He couldn't believ...

I'm a chronic pain patient due to Fibromyalgi/Chronic Fatigue and Degenerative back & hip disease, for 21 years I've tried all kinds of meds and only narcotics have ever helped.. I'm on Percocet 15 mg, 1 every 4-6 hours, for 6-7 yrs now. . (Long acting meds behave as short acting in my body, so can't take anything long acting...which prevents me from being able to use a breakthrough med). I want desperately to get off the Percocet and detox, hoping I can start over. I've gone up the ranks from APC with Codeine, Lortab, Norco, Vicodin, etc, till I'm now on this high dose of Percocet. I'm not ever zonked out on it, though I think I've hit the max on it, cause I have lots of breakthrough pain. 15 mg is no longer 'enough' for the kind of pain I ha...

If someone was taking 8mg suboxene 1x a day for 8 years, could they take about 30 milligrams of liquid methadone for 30 days to detox from suboxene and have no withdrawals/side effects. Please advise asap. ## Hi Gene! Before you start the methadone you must be in withdrawals. Are you going through a clinic or on your own? Since you've been on suboxone for awhile, it may take longer than 30 days to get clean. Methadone in it self is addictive too. If you are going to do this in a month you will probably still go through withdrawals for awhile. Again, being you were on suboxone for some time. Let us know how you are doing.

Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. Aloha ## Thank you for your post. ...

iam takin 100mg ms contin for a year now and am sick of it what would help in detoxing. I dont want to take more drugs and i know the pains in the legs are coming because i detoxed of panadiene forte years ago i would just like some tips ## What type of leg pain did you have? What is just aching, or was it muscle cramping? I have done this exact detox, cold turkey, so I can try to warn you of what to expect and give a few tips. If it was leg cramping, it might be due to the fact that narcotics tend to sap the potassium in your body and a low-dose supplement can help with that. You should check with your doctor first, though, because high potassium levels can also be dangerous, so you shouldn't add a supplement, without their approval. If you can get your doctor to help, by prescribi...

I AM ON 60 MG OF METHADONE A DAY I HAVE BEEN FOR 9 YEARS I CANT EVEN GET PASS THE DETOX DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVICE ## Unfortunately, Methadone is very well known for being extremely addictive, even when used properly, under a doctor's supervision. That's why, when used to treat drug addiction, many patients end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it and never truly being able to get drug free. In addition, the withdrawals that it can cause are severe and can put someone in life threatening danger. Have you consulted a doctor for assistance? I am not sure how well it works with people that are on Methadone, but Suboxone might help you. ## yeah go down to 20 mg. of methadone. skip one day (that would be 24 hours) then start soboxion. I'm telling you this is what worked for me. y...

I have been hooked on roxis and methadone for the past 10 years. Before I got on suboxone I quit taking the methadone for two weeks but was taking 400 mg of roxis per day. I got put on subs exactly 1 week ago at 8 mgs per day but am currently down t to taking 3 mgs a day and plan on tapering to 2 mg tomorrow and tapering to .5 mg by the end of the second week and then quitting. My question is once I quit the subs at .5 how bad will my withdraws be?? I only wanted to stay on subs for two weeks so I didn't get addicted. All of these horror stories of coming off of subs made me decide to only stay on them for two weeks. Will someone please reply and let me know how bad these withdraws will be once I quit??? All responses are greatly appreciated. Thanks ## Hello, Based on my research, s...

The very best way to detox your system of any drug is lemon water at room temperature. Prob for 2-3 days. This makes an acidic body turn alkaline and changes the chemicals and the way they effect the body. Also organic virgin coconut oil at 1\4 cup a day will speed metabolism to increase this process. Coconut oil has about 30 different benefits for overall organs and total body function. Universal, antiviral, antifungal. Start slow or it may make you jittery or upset your stomach. ## Thanks for sharing this info on coconut oil and lemon water. I too am an advocate of using natural alternatives to combat and prevent various ailments. Maintaining an alkaline environment has been proven to offer a multitude of benefits in and of itself, but the added attributes from things like coconut oil...

How to detox from home, I'm trying to get off these 30mg OPs I been prescribed for more than ten years, and I'm tired of the addiction,, please help me find a way to detox...... ## The only thing I can ever say helped me were a couple valium and LOTS of fluids, stay hydrated!!! Good luck!! ## A slow taper is usually best. However, the problem is that these are time released, so you can't cut or break them. How many do take each day? Have you consulted a medical professional for assistance? The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain, depression and diarrhea.

Hi my name is RADAMES and I'm detoxing soboxon ..I was trying to change my life and counted on the med to stop using drugs but now that my life has changed I decided to stop using soboxon ..went into a five day detox witch I was detoxed with methadone but now that I'm going on my fourth day home,,I still feel bad withdraws..I want to know what over the counter meds I could take that will help with the withdraws?? ## Hello, Radames! How are you? There isn't really anything over the counter that will help much. The issue here is that Methadone is actually much harder to stop and causes more severe withdrawal effects than Suboxone. Thus, doing a taper from the Suboxone would likely have been a lot easier. The FDA classifies these medications as opiates that are most commonly us...

I have been on 16 mg of subutex for ten years, last Tuesday I had surgery and decided that I was going to try to come off the subutex, use the pain mess I was prescribed for the surgery and then be done with it all. I was prescribed perk 5 mg every four hours, and at the time of the surgery I had been off the subutex for 24 hours (I know that's not long enough) To my surprise taking the perk as prescribed held me over at least in the beginning. By Monday night I was in terrible withdraws (despite still taking the pain medication as I have been). By about 4am I took half of a 8mg sub (which was around 10 hours after the last perc I've taken) The 4 mg not only took me out of WD but it down right got me high. I was quite upset with my lapse but was determined to not let it be my down

will there be hard withdrawals for someone who injects 1 8mg dilaudad daily for 4 months? ## It really depends on the person, there are likely some people that won't, but most people probably will experience some withdrawal effects. kkh, What about the coomment can you give your personal inlighment, am her boyfriend an i want her clean ## I'm sorry, but I'm not totally clear on what you're asking. Are you trying to find out how she can stop Morphine? If so, getting medical assistance would be best. A doctor can help set up a slow tapering schedule that should help minimize the withdrawal effects. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

How do I stop taking opana er40 mg. I also take 10/325 Percocet. Should I try cutting down month to month or go to a rehab and have that instant detox done while I'm under? ## How much are you taking? Are you actually addicted and abusing them, or are you just taking them via a doctor's prescription and not taking more than prescribed? That's really what will determine your best option and you didn't provide such details in your post. Can you please post back with more information? Thanks!

Have been taking .5 to 1 mg of Klonopin for about 6 months nightly after waking up in the middle of the night and not be able to get back to sleep. Wake up anxious and nervous. Past week have been nervous and anxious all day. Plus am only able to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Am concerned that u am addicted to the Klonopin. How do I detox from it ?????? ## Hello, Matthew! How are you? I think you're confusing addiction and dependence. Addiction occurs when someone likes how a medication makes them feel, but since that's just due to side effects that wear off, they have to keep taking more and more to get those effects back, again. Dependence, however, is what occurs when you take a medication regularly for a long period of time, your body gets used to having it and you...
