My friend was prescribed Haldol for depression. My friend suffers from being addicted to Perocets, and because he was going through withdraw stated that he wanted to kill himself. I know that he did not mean it, I believe it was the withdrawal. Could you help me. Is this drug the answer. ## The best thing your friend could do would be to inform his doctor of everything you've just said, that way a proper treatment plan can be undertaken. Haldol is most commonly used to treat psychotic episodes, and the FDA warns that it is very potent, and may cause side effects, such as sedation, nausea, headache, blurred vision, and mood changes. Ref: Haldol Information Are these the only medications he is currently taking?

I just got out of Dover Behavior health for a nervous meltdown I was prescribed Paxil & xanax what scares me is the other medications I'm on which are percocet 10mg no Tylenol & oxycontin 40mg. I went today to pain management and they had received my record's for Dover. I told my Dr my fears and she said that my fears were just my anxiety and I had no need for worrying. I just think that's a lot of medications. am I just over reacting or are my fears valid? I need somebody to tell me what they think. {edited for privacy} ## Hello, Susan! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the hospitalization. However, your doctor is correct, as long as they aren't causing you any bad symptoms, then there is no reason to worry. Many people take far more medications in a d...

So I have been on bunavail for the past 3 years. I’ve been seriously depressed and so withdrawn. Anyone else feel like this? I just started thinking today after I have been crying all day from depression if in fact maybe the bunavail is causing this? It actually started when I started bunavail now that I think about it. ## Any medication that contains an opiate can cause depression as a side effect, according to FDA side effects, as well as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? Do you have a history of depression?

I have been on Contrave for 2 weeks and have lost 11 pounds. I don't want to get out of bed. I feel like blah. I don't even want to do the things I used to enjoy. It takes all I have to do what I have to so I can take care of my kids. I don't want to stop taking it because I'm losing so much weight. Will this feeling go away?? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? Yes, it can cause depression in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, nervousness and insomnia. You should inform your doctor, there are other medications that you can take for weight loss and you may need to stop this one. Are you on any other medications? ## Same reaction here. Can may want to try Qysmia but that can make up jittery especially at the high doses. #...

Do you have a list of medications that will make you itch? I'm on six different types of medication. They are for depression, asthma, anxiety, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Any advice to help stop the itching? Can't sleep. ## Hello, Rachel! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Unfortunately, I can't state which one might be causing it, just based on the classes of the medications, nor can I possibly list all the medications that could cause itching, the FDA has far too large of a list. Can you please post back with the names of the actual medications you are taking? If so, I will be very happy to check the side effect information for you. Thanks!

I am struggling real bad with panic attacks...lots of doctors don't understand some people need benzos to live a productive life and i am 1 of them, so please help??? ## Hello, Robert! How are you? I'm sorry, but this website does not prescribe nor sell any medications or products, it is an information only website. You might be creating the problem yourself, if you're seeing doctors and asking for benzos. They have the tendency to be habit forming and are often abused, so most doctors will view that as being drug seeking behavior and just won't see you or will refuse to prescribe them. Normally, the doctor expects to make the diagnosis and suggest what you should try as a treatment, if one is appropriate. Additionally, benzodiazepines do not help with depression, since ...

I was on Belviq fir approx 3 weeks. I felt as though I was having bipolar episodes. Manic phases. On Thanksgiving day I decided enough! I stopped the belviq. I had been on Zoloft for 2-3 years & weaned off to take belviq. My doctor was very against me starting belviq but I badgered him until he agreed to let me try it. I regret it. Since coming off belviq & recently starting the Zoloft again, I now have constant anxiety with depression. I'm hoping Zoloft will start helping soon, it's only been 1 week back on. I've lost 5lbs exercising with beach body products & eating healthier. I will never try a weight loss pill again. My life is a mess right now. ## Hello, Abby! How are you feeling? Have your symptoms improved, yet? Most weight loss medications work as stimula...

In today's modernized world, there are numerous ways to combat and cope with symptoms of depression. Unfortunately, western medicine seems to focus its attention too heavily on treating it once it's already there as opposed to preventing it to begin with. The problem I see with this approach is that many of the medications available don't actually work or are too riddled with side effects for patients to see lasting results. While this may not apply to everyone, it's interesting to note that a few articles from the Journal of the American Medical Association have paved the way to exploring various preventive methods including, problem-solving education [1], resistance exercise training [2] and psychological preventive intervention. Problem-solving education is intriguing...

Does any one else with treatment resistant major depression have the same problem? It's making my anxiety through the roof. I didn't have anxiety before I was put on 25mg of Zoloft. It's horrible I feel like I'm having a heart attack and my jaw is clenched so tight I'm taking 800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours with not much relief. When are doctors gonna realize, SSRI meds do NOT work for everyone and when I say I've already tried 25 meds for this & they didn't work, things aren't gonna suddenly change the second time around?? Geeze! ## If your doctor isn't listening to you, then you might need to try a different doctor. But are you making sure that they get copies of your medical records, so they can see what other medications you've already tr...

I have been taking .5 milligrams or Rexulti once a day for 2 weeks. My depression seems to be getting worse. Any thoughts? ## Rexulti is an antipsychotic, and it has been known to cause worsening depression, and other mood changes, as side effects, in some people that take it. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and weight changes. Please inform your doctor of what you're experiencing, since this might not be the right medication for you. Are you on any other medications?

I'm trying Tribedoce because I get a lot of anxiety & depression. A friend recommended it to me & told me that these are vitamins that help with depression & anxiety as well. I only take one. I've noticed the difference & I feel much better. My anxiety went away as well. So I'm trying to see if it works. ## Hello, Magda! How are you? This is just a nutritional supplement that contains a complex of B vitamins, so there's no harm in trying it, as long as you don't exceed the dosing instructions and your doctors approves. The U.S. FDA warns that due to its potency, it may cause nausea in some people. Are you on any other medications?

Someone I know was diagnosed with biopolar and depression. Have a background of substance abuse. He was put only on epitec 50mg twice a day. His saddenly stopped the epitec and have suicidal idees and even tried too. Is it possible that the background of substance abuse can cause biopolar and should the epitec be incresed? ## Are Epitec the generic of Epilim ## Hello, Tracie! How are you? Yes, it is definitely possible for substance abuse to cause such problems. But as to increasing the medication, that is up to his doctor, he may also need stronger medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Epitec (Lamotrigine) as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and mood swings. Thus, the mood swings may also contribute to some of his problems. My doctor just prescribed Navane for me, but I do not have Schizophrenia. I have major depression disorder. I am worried about taking it. ## Most psychotropic medications have multiple uses and doctors may prescribe them according to what they've learned they help with from experience with other patients. If you're really worried about taking it, then by all means, contact your doctor to talk about it. They can help you understand its risks and benefits, so you can make the most informed decision possible. Does anyone have experience with this medication that they can share?

Hi Everyone... Has anyone experienced depression while on 75mg of Clopidogrel daily? Does anyone know, if there are any cardiac meds that do not cause or exacerbate depression? ## Yes, the FDA does list depression as being a possible side effect of Clopidogrel, along with nausea, headache, easy bruising, and increased risk of bleeding. Ref: Clopidogrel Information Is this the only medication you are currently taking? What condition is being treated with it? I'm sorry, but it is impossible to research alternative medications for you, without some additional information.

I'm looking into possible medications to treat my depression, complex trauma disorder, unipolar behavioral disorder?, and PTSD without the typical sedative effects. My neurodivergence and the effects it has on my body leave me lying in bed most of the time. In the past, doctors have only prescribled various sedatives and antidepressants with similar effects. I want to get out of bed. Any suggestions? ## What type of doctors have you consulted?
