this site helps me in my drug study ## Does taking aspilet once a day, deplete the co Q10 in our bodies? If it does, should we take additional Co Q10? ## This would be something you should discuss with your doctor or pharmacist. ## I had a light stroke in June last year. According to my doctor it's cause was that my blood was too thick. It had blocked the flow to a certain division in my left brain. So my right side has been paralized. But the recovery was fast and i'm now normal again. The doctor prescribed using aspilet once a day. If you take Brilinta twice a day like 90 or 60 mg tablets, keep out of the higher elevations like 6500' and up. Had an episode where I was at 10,000' in a hotel in Colorado and it about killed me. No sleep was possible when every 30-45 secs you would start gasping for air. I had to go to the local medical center and was put on oxygen and was able to sleep. When they checked me out I headed straight toward Denver and the heavier air. The lack of oxygen put me into near panic modes, my brain was signaling distress and confusion was rampant. The previous year I was at the same hotel without any issue and was not on Brilinta. When the hospital checked me in my BP was in the 150s and heart rate was in the upper 80s. It's pretty scary when you deplete the body of oxygen, I felt ha...

My urine is depleted of potassium citrate and vit. B 6. The Dr.has given me rx to take these two. But I'm not sure about his judgement. He has told me I would have to take this the rest of my life. The reason I was sent to him was because I was keeping a low grade infec. Because I had stones. I still had a flake of a stone in my left kidney. That's all he told me. ## Hi Vern, My guess is that your doctor just became concerned with the issue regarding your urine and became focused on trying to fix that issue instead of putting his focus on the reason why you were sent to him. If you are looking for more information than what you were given, I suppose you will have to let him know that there are some "missing links" and that you need to know more. In regards to your urine ...

I was recently told that simvastatin depletes CoQ10, leading to the "weakness" side effect. Anyone heard this? ## I have to agree with that statement, as there are a number of discussions relating to Statin drugs (atorvastatin, cerivastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin) depleting the body of coenzyme Q10. Other types of drugs like beta-blockers also deplete the body of this too, but one way to help counteract this is to supplement with CoQ 10. Personally, If I were short on this vital nutrient, I would supplement a minimum of 400-600mg a day while taking one of those drugs that inherently depletes it. That's just me, as I would prefer to be well stocked if I became aware that this was happening to me. I hope this helps! ## Thank you

I take hctz and lisinapril will this deplete your K+ level if you dont take a supplement. ## Hello, Bill! How are you? Yes, it can cause lowered potassium as a side effect in some people that take it. It doesn't happen to everyone, but the possibility is there, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dicumarol Drug Index

Dicoumarol (INN) or dicumarol (USAN) is a naturally occurring anticoagulant drug that depletes stores of vitamin K (similar to warfarin, a drug that dicoumarol inspired). It is also used in biochemical experiments as an inhibitor of reductases. Dicoumarol is a natural chemical substance of combined plant and fungal origin. It is a derivative of coumarin, a bitter-tasting but sweet-smelling substance made by plants that does not itself affect coagulation, but which is (classically) transformed...

Has anyone had hair loss after taking Levaquin? I've read it can deplete magnesium and iron and cause hair loss. Mine started one month after my last 10 day dose. I feel like it has to be connected. Anyone who has had this, please let me know! Docs never want to admit this can be cause, but I feel like it's too much of a cooincidence! Help! ## Yes, as listed by the FDA, alopecia (hair loss) is a known side effect of this medication, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and photosensitivity. However, such side effects are usually transient and will reverse, once you finish your course of treatment, but it could take awhile for your body to balance things back out. Has there been any change, yet?

i am on Levothyroxin 175 mcg. i had seen somewhere on the internet that this pill will deplete calcium from my bones but i can't seem to find the info any more. i want to print this out and take this to my Doctor. ## I'm not finding anything about this, either. Although what I have found states that calcium can affect the absorption of Levothyroxine, so it should not be taken within several hours of taking the medication. What has your doctor said about it?

I am taking 25mg of chlorthalidone daily to prevent calcium loss. One of the side effects is that it depletes potassium. For that reason, I take prescription potassium. The mcg's keep increasing because blood tests every 3 months or so show low levels of potassium. My potassium intake has now been increased to 50mcg per day (it started at 20). Has anyone experienced this? I am now going for a cardia stress test due to abnormal EKG. ## pot chlor er tabs ! have been getting a lot of muscle pain, legs mostly, any one else ? any sujestions / ## This medication is a diuretic, as such, it can sometimes result in a loss of Potassium in the body. Please advise. ## Hello, Stephen! How are you? Why have you been using it for so long? This is normally used to treat fungal infections, such as yeast infections and isn't normally intended for long-term use. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation and dryness. ## Thank You Verwon for your concern. It seems that due to family background I have Syrosis. And it was found that itching comes and goes. If I sweat a lot, then it becomes worse. I was advised to dilute this cream with some other cream. Since then I am using a mixture of Polycutan+Vaseline. I have been taking Lisinopril with Chlorthalidone, as I my potassium was depleted when I was taking Triamterene and had a stroke. The hospital physician put me on Lisinopril with Chlorthalidone and told me I would not lose potassium with this combination. Lisinopril has caused cough and is annoying so my GP switched me to Losartan. Is it safe to take Losartan and Chortahlidone, and will this combination still allow me to retain potassium? ## Hello, Glo! How are you? I am sorry about the stroke you suffered. Yes, there should not be any problem, the Losartan has the same type of action as the Lisinopril on adding potassium. I had a similar problem with my potassium constantly dropping dangerously low and we found that Losartan's relative Candesartan works very well for me to prevent ...

## Slo mag is simply a magnesium supplement. It is often used to treat magnesium deficiency or is used to prevent magnesium deficiency is people who take drugs that deplete magnesium- the most common being diuretic medications or water pills. Some people with heart problems are given Slo Mag to make sure that their magnesium level stays in the normal range. Really the only Magnesium Side Effect that you have to be concerned about is loose stools. I have been on carisoprodol&nucynta for 2yrs for muscle spams & knots all over my body.I also take gabapentin&thyroid mess for hypothyroidism.Could these meds deplete potassium levels? ## Has blood work shown yours to be low? It can happen for many reasons and may not necessarily be related to any medications that you're taking. It could just simply be due to not taking in enough of it in your diet, because it can be hard to eat enough of the proper foods to meet the RDA. However, before taking a supplement, you do need to make sure that it's needed, since too much of it can also be dangerous.

Where can I get my oxycodone 15mg filled in tampa area. Last month I had the dr switch me from 30mg to 15mg because the 30s were hard to get. So last month I go to Walgreens got the 15mg no problem But now this month I can't get any went to 5 pharmacies nothing. Is this happening to the 15mg too. Please. Help ## It's just an overall shortage, due to the fact that the manufacturing limits for the year have been met. Last month the pharmacy probably still had some of the 15mg tablets in stock, because there weren't as many prescriptions for them, but no doubt there were many other doctors who had the same idea yours did, so the supply was depleted. The best advice we can give is to talk to your doctor about using an alternative medication, in the meantime. Production will retu...

I called Schering, the maufacturer. They are in the process of manufacturing Drixoral again in a different facility. The spokeswomen told me the supply on the shelves has been depleted, but it will be back the first of the year 2010. So hang on...I've been taking it for 40, yes 40 years. I sorely miss it. ## Do you really believe this?! Have you EVER seen a medication disappear like this with no warning? Something's up. I love Drixoral and I really miss it. ## Drixoral was discontinued by the manufacturer due to loss of sales, it contained Pseudoephedrine and had to be moved behind the pharmacy counter. A rerelease of the medication will not contain Pseudoephedrine and will likely not work as well. ## Is Drixoral a Steroid drug and do I have to be careful when taking it? ## No i...
