I am wondering about the subs. So that being said, here is my story and i want any advice or facts you can give on my situation, with a very big PLEASE at the end. Please try to follow this, its confusing in parts but in the end, i am addicted to opiates....plain truth with a little explination. My oldests sons father and i used to take 5 mg percs and do crazy cute stuff like feed ducks and go play at toys r us cause we would feel all lovey dovey and cute and all that towards each other. That was back in like 2005-2007. That was not a problem. It was only if we got some from an actual injury or something, every once in a while over that span, never anything else. But that introduced me to taking them without needing to. Then in 2008 i had acl replacement, i was given percs before surger...

Does anyone else suffer from Nuvigil addiction? I suffer from depression and my Dr put me on this in 2012. I was fine and didn't abuse it for several years, but for the past 2 years I have. It is a schedule IV drug and most people have never heard of addiction to it. It gives me dopamine. ## Hello MB20628, According to the FDA it is known that Nuvigil is addictive and is fairly commonly seen in people who use the drug for longer than 3 months. What kind of information are you looking to get on the withdrawal symptoms of this drug? Are there any in particular that you are experiencing strongly? ## I need to get help with this problem. I just don't have confindence in rehab facilities because I think it is just me. Everybody else seems to handle it fine.

Can any one help? I've been on and off taking diazepam for sleep 20-30 mg twice a week at most for mainly this year, but have taken it in the past. I am wondering whether I will become dependent on it. I am really concerned, and this week had a really bad anxiety, so I took some to chill out through day. Now I am wondering if the anxiety was brought on through the diazepam or just because I had a bad day?? Thanks in advance ## Yes you can become dependant on this. You need to speak with your doctor or psychiatrist about your anxiety. If you think it's getting worse. 20-30 mg is a high dose of xanax. The normal dose is 0.75-1.5 mg. Wondering if what you wrote is a typo. ## Dependence really requires you to be taking it regularly, it isn't common for it to happen, if you are o...

Generally how long does it take to be physically dependent on Tramadol? tks. CItyboy. ## There is no set time frame to give in response to this. It can vary from person to person and doesn't even happen to everyone that takes it. Some people can be more prone to dependence and/or addiction than others. Their tolerance level to such medications can also play a role. Learn more Tramadol details here. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Back surgery 2 yrs ago and I have been taking percocet for that amount of time to help with back and leg pain 1 or 2 tabs a day ...... how do I stop am sure if I stop suddenly there will be some effect to my system ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In addition to that, I'd also suggest making yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar to track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame (even if it takes a few months). Without a way to track your progre...

I take two oxycod-325 a day for pain following surgery last. My dr wants me to take neuotin, but it makes me drowsy and spacey. Is oxycod ok to take forever? It just works for me. ## oblong percocetwith e700 on one side and 15/325 ## The tablets you've listed contain Oxycodone, and Acetaminophen, so they do carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Cheryl, that tablet contains 7.5mgs of Oxycodone, with 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Makoasgram, there are always risks to taking any medication for a long period of time. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

Hi, I've been on Gabapentin about two years, but recently the Dr. increased the dose to 300 mg three times a day...for anxiety. I have been only trying to take it every other day instead. On the off days, I feel crummy. But if i took it daily, then the eventual withdrawal would be horrendous from what I've read. Besides that, I'd build up a tolerance to it pretty quickly and wouldn't be as effective in a short amount of time. Does anyone else take it every other day instead of daily? ## Gabapentin has a short half life of 5 to 7 hours; that’s why it’s typically prescribed 3 times a day and sometimes 4 times a day. Skipping dosages and taking it every other day can cause interdosage withdrawals when you're late on your dosage or skip a day. Gabapentin is a...

This is the question. Most pain patients become dependent on thier pain meds which is not addiction. we need them to live and fuction every day and we do build up a tolerance to them and need to increase them because our body has built up a tolerance. Addiction is when someone who is not taking them as the dr.s orders and become addicted because of thier personallity and behavior, if it wasn't pain meds then it would be some thing else. Good luck to all ## Addiction actually occurs most often due to the fact that people like the way something makes them feel, but since that is just a side effect, it eventually wears off as their body gets used to the drug of choice, so have to continually take more and more to get that feeling back… and what also explains why so many people ov...

I went to new pain magement doctor because my old one no long took my insurance. I was on 7.5 325 hydrocoden and in between I went to my orthro she gave oxycodone 10 that work better for my lower back pain. At the first visited to we pm was told he did not agree with my ortho about my back and he did not believe in using pain meds I should have never been placed on them. Had no problem at old pm she had agreed with ortho that my back was bad. Come to find out he coded me with a diagnosis code 304 that's is drug dependant. My question is what is this going to do to me with insurance and other doctors. I was never kick out of other pm just needed to find one that would take my insurance. ## Being drug dependent is not the same as being diagnosed as being addicted. Dependence happens t...

I know others have put down the bottle; why can't I? Have had rehab, probation (that kind of worked as I was tested for alcohol), counseling, antabuse (I have an allergy to it but it worked for me), AA, etc. Prayer and hope. Still struggling. I do not want to die like this. I am 48 years old. ## Hi there, Sorry to hear of your struggles. I am in the same boat. I have lost my job and hit rock bottom. I now take Antabuse and get counselling and I attend regular workshops. I believe the support workshops are helping. My counselor suggested writing - maybe it will help for you too. ## I am very sorry about what you are going through. Some people have a genetic predisposition, to substance abuse, be it drugs, or alcohol, and struggle harder than others to give up their substance of choic...

I am a healthy woman in my 60's and I am struggling with anxiety. I have found great relief taking small amounts (1 mg / day) of Lorezepam but am concerned about possibilities of addiction. Please advise, all input is good input. Thank you , Shelly ## Unless you are abusing such a medication and taking more than prescribed, you may become dependent upon it, but not usually addicted. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and irritability. How long have you been taking it? Are you on any other medications? ## It is the withdrawal factor that is so frightening. Your doctor will warn you addiction and overlook withdrawal. People over the age of 60 should always be careful with any of the benzodiazepines as they're not me...

Hello I'm currently seeking a pain clinic/dr in michigan that can help my get methadone for pain/opiate dependency! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ## Hello, Peeker! How are you? If you've been treated at an addiction clinic, then a regular doctor will be unable to prescribe it for you, it is illegal for them to do so. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you've only been taking it for pain management, then a doctor could prescribe it for you, but most are reluctant to do so, due to its severely habit forming potential. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area that night be able to help?

I have been using Tramadol for around 3-4 months, so a puppy in comparision to others. My problem is that I have gone from 500-600mg/day down to 50mg in a week and I have never felt so bad in all my life. When I was younger I messed around with recreational drugs and never had a downer like this. I feel unable to stop my emotions falling out of my face at any given moment, if I sweat any more I am going to be tiny (42lbs lost so far). My week has been M,12 - T,10 - W,8 - T,4 - F,2 - S,1 - S,0. I have not been at work for a week or so due to feeling so bad and really need to get back before I get the bullet. I am 36hrs clear and using zoplicone for the sleep problems, how much longer do I have to do to be completelty clear and restart building my life again after this evil drug? ## Well,...

How do I get off dependency from this drug.? I take 2 tablets a day. ## can oxycodone apap trigger CHF is I have codine allergy? ## Paolo, have you tried asking your doctor for help with stopping this medication? They should be able to help you taper off, which can be effective as long as you haven't been abusing it and/or taking extremely high doses. They do have a new effective addiction treatment using Suboxone, an opiate containing the active ingredient Buprenoprhine, which has enabled many people to be completely drug free, but it is only used for those suffering from severe addiction, not for those who have only been taking a medication as prescribed. You can read more about it here: ## Oxycodone/APAP (Acetaminophen) is a generic for Percocet, this is a narcotic pain reliever....

My body is dependent to Zolfresh 10mg (4 tablets at night and 2 during the day), combined with 2 tabs of SP. I had a seizure a few days back and was hospitalized... where they tried to taper the drug... I did not sleep well at night there. I lied and said I was fine and got discharged. Now they put me on antidepressants. So I take them along with my normal dosage. How can I come off these medications? I have 2 little boys who I love to death.
