I'm trying to see if I can pay a cheaper price for two different meds, depakote and clozapine? It would help me out a lot to pay less money. Thank you for taking the time to help me out and answer my questions. ## Hi Matheau, You may wish to consider trying a free pharmacy coupon such as the one MedsChat offers here: Rx Savings Card. It can reportedly save anywhere from 15-75% off the cost of your prescriptions and is recognized at over 60,000 pharmacies across the US. Another option is to ask your doctor or pharmacist about patient assistance programs, where they would cover the cost of your medication if you're financially struggling. However, I believe approval is based upon your annual income and not all drug manufacturers offer such support. Nevertheless, it may be worth lo...

To make a long story short, I may not be having seizures. Dr. took one EEG and said I had two seizures in 20 minutes! What are seizures? What do they feel like? I have no idea what this doctor is talking about. I have never passed out. I'm a 61 year old female; active and maybe have 1 cold/year. I started taking the depakote this past saturday; 1 in am, the other at pm. It made me so sick, double vision, mean, angry. I do not have biopolar. So the total number of pills since saturday I have taken 2 full days of depakote and only one pill yesterday that made me so sick (5 pills total). I know I have to taper; should I take one more tablet today and stop? Thank you. ## It can vary from person to person, depending on the type of seizure and the severity. For example, my husband experie...

My sister mixed up her 250 mg am dose of Depakote and her 500 mg pm dose of Depakote this morning. She's waiting for her script to be refilled for her am dosage. Can she cut the 500 mg pill in half so she's not overdosing herself?? ## Hello, Brandy! How is your sister doing? What are the markings on the tablets? I need this information to check and see if they are time released, or are safe to cut. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, hair loss and blurry vision. ## My acid is low and my Dr. told me to take one tablet and cut the other in half. My grandson has been taking divalproex 500 MG ER for bipolar disorder. We moved recently so I had to change drugstores. When his Rx (for Depakote 500 mg ER) was filled yesterday they gave us divalproex SOD ER 500 MG. The tablets are different. The original tablet was white oval shaped with A511 on it. The new tablets are grey with W725 imprinted on them. Are these the same thing or should I contact the doctor before he takes the pills from the new pharmacy? ## HI, Beverly! Sorry about the confusion. They are the same medication, in the same dosage, just manufactured by different companies. Since this is a generic medication, it's made by several different manufacturers and depending on who was offering the cheapest price, when they needed to restock their supply, pharmacies may carr...

I want to know what DR means after the prescription name. The pill is Divaloprex DR 500 mgs. ## It stands for delayed release, designating it as a time released formulation, rather than one that released all of the medication, at once. Other commonly used abbreviations for this can include SR, XR and several others. Divalproex, also known as Valproate Semisodium and is most commonly used to treat the manic episodes associated with Bipolar disorder. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, weight changes and decreased coordination. ## Bipolar youth is significantly more agitated, upset, looking sad, when given depakote med 500 mg. without the DR on label. Normally my daughter takes 1500 milligrams (three 500 mg tabs) of Depakote 2 x per day, however today the pharmacy gave me an eye dropper and "LIQUID" form. The label reads in milliliters so I do not know how many drops to give her? ## Did they not put an amount on the prescription? The should have provided you with an appropriate amount to give her, so you don't have to convert it yourself. If they didn't, you should contact them and ask why they did not do so. No one online can give you answer without knowing the dosage of the liquid, and other specifics. This medication is most commonly used to help prevent seizures. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. However, if you can post back...

There are two pills, and I think they are antibiotics? but could be mood pills. 1) Oblong, powder pink colour--it is NOT a capsule; 3/4 long, about 1/4fat (deep), and just over 1/4 wide.
