What's the color of liquid demerol ## I was unable to look up the exact color of the liquid, but I did locate a list of the inactive ingredients in the solution, which does suggest that there are no added colorings, just a flavoring agent... "ORAL SOLUTION: Benzoic Acid, Flavor, Liquid Glucose, Purified Water, Saccharin Sodium. The oral solution is a pleasant-tasting, nonalcoholic, banana-flavored solution containing 50 mg of DEMEROL, brand of meperidine hydrochloride, per 5 mL teaspoon (25 drops contain 13 mg of DEMEROL)." How many mg. of aspirin are in Talwin compound? ## Talwin DOES NOT contain Aspirin! It contains the active ingredient Pentazocine, it is a narcotic, so it is in the same drug class as Demerol, but is a different medication. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain. I found a pill in my cabinet when I was cleaning it out (my husband was very ill for 2 years and I guess it got stowed away for some reason) and looked it up by imprint and I only found one answer and NO photos. I would like to confirm the answer was accurate; I don't know what this thing is! I was given 50 mg. of Demerol and 4 mg. of Dilaudid for a headache. I have had many meds before for migraines but I was disoriented for three days and my skin was crawling and I was so weak, is that a high dosages at once? ## That would be my guess, the Dilaudid was too strong for you to jump right to it. It is a very strong narcotic, hydromorphone, that is why it is only 4mgs, it is very potent. If you aren't already tolerant to narcotics, then jumping to that dose will cause the problems you were having, as well as some withdrawals if you took a few and then quit taking it altogether. There are other alternatives that you can try, so rather than live with the adverse effects, talk to your doctor about maybe just trying to Demerol for awhile, or Percocet, Vicodin, something like th...

I have been taking Meperidine 50 mg 381-b for years. Recently my pharmist switched to Meperidine 50 mg 4171-v and I do ot think it is as effective . He says it is exactly the same. Also, lately I found one of the "old" pills (381-b) and it was far more effective then the new ones. Please tell me the difference. ## They are both generics for Demerol and listed as the same dosage, however, there can be differences in generic drugs and that may be what is causing your problem. I am curious as to how often this medication can be taken. Currently I take it every 8 hours, but it doesn't last that long. ## I take 6mg diludid suppossitory (2 3mg )with 50 mg Phenegan shots every 3-4 hours for my Gastroparesis Episodes. I have build up a tolerance to the drugs and have to take high doses now. The body does seem to build up immunities to the two drugs and I have to up the doseage about every year. My daughter was given a hair test and it came back positive for methamphetamines. Could the 3 mg melatonin supplement before bed be what's showing up? ## Due to severe crohns have been on methadone 240mls a day, demerol 12 50mg a day and 8 30mg a day codeine, weed 10 joints a day and gravol 50 mg 8 a day all prescribed and have always passed a drug test for 15 yrs.
