KDur or Klor Con has been around for many many years but still is very expensive. It is more costly than some newer meds that do not have generics. How is this possible? Is this a question of greed on the part of pharmacies. This is a frequently ordered drug. ## Hello, Jean! How are you? Actually, it's not as frequently ordered as most. It is only ordered when someone's potassium is dangerously low, otherwise, it's not safe for someone to take it. Thus, the demand for it is actually low, so very few companies manufacture it, since it isn't very profitable to do so. In order to make any money back on their investment, the companies that do can't afford to give it a cheap price. I'm sorry, I do understand what a burden it is, when something is expensive, but these ...

My Dr. prescribed this medication when I told him I was a bit tired because I have a physically demanding job. ## This is a multivitamin supplement. "This combination of vitamins and selected minerals is used to prevent or treat vitamin deficiency due to poor eating habits, problems that affect the body's ability to absorb nutrition from food, or increased need for vitamins and minerals due to stress or illness. Vitamins are needed for the body to function well. This vitamin/mineral combination contains high levels of B vitamins (e.g., folic acid, niacin, B-1, B-2, B-6, and B-12) and vitamin C. It also contains other vitamins (A, D, and E) and minerals such as zinc. This medication does not contain iron and has only a small amount of calcium. Therefore, it should not be used to ...

Ive been using opiates for a few years now and im just gettin sick and tired of the bull thats involved with it. I cop my pills illegally and its only a matter of time before something happens. My tolerance levels are threw the roof and im looking to use subutex to get threw the day. I dont even get high anymore unless i do an excessive amount. Im looking into subutex so i can have energy to work. I work a very physically demanding job and unless i am on opiates i have no drive to get things done when i am working. My question is does subutex give you that push to get threw the day? ## Subutex contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which is an opiate, so it does prevent the normal withdrawals that one would experience when stopping the other drugs of choice. However, it has to be...

I just need to wonder if celebrex is ok to take if I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, heart murmur, allergic to sulfa medications will be ok for me to take without further hurting my existing problems. I also have a Hiatel Hernia and Reflux syndrome. Do you reccomend me to take this? My Dr. says it is up to him and to take it, even if it is not helping my pain. I am on 100mg's a day. Thank you. ## No, reading your list of health problems I almost thought I must have originally posted it. If your doctor prescribe it for you then he/she already knows all your health issues. You don't state how long you've been on this med but if longer than 3 days and it's not helping then I would demand a change or go to another doctor. ## I am taking celebrex 200mg for 2 days but I feel chest...

There is some crazy mfgr shortage. Doc wont raise me up to 40s. Been on these things for a few years. Im really starting to get ticked off now. All pharmacys were out last month. And now still out. WTF? ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem getting your medication. Yes, there is a shortage and it is normal for this time of year, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a manufacturer reaches their allotted limit for the year, they cannot manufacture any new product, until after the new year. Every year, demand inevitably exceeds supply and we end up with shortages for the last few months of the year. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mo...

ive tried practically all the pharmacies in my area in akron ohio trying to get corepharma dextrostat 5mg ir and 10mg ir and nobody can get it. its the name brand dexedrine molecular structure offered at a generic price ## Hello Justin! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. They may have difficulty getting it, at this time, due to shortages that typically occur this time of year. When it comes to controlled substances, all manufacturers have a limit on how much they can manufacture and produce, each year, under direction of the DEA. Once they reach that limit, they cannot manufacture any new product, until after the new year. Inevitably, demand exceeds supply and shortages occur the last few months of the year. According to the FDA, this medication carries...

I have been dismissed from my practice in Reidsville BC who prescribe me Suboxone for pain relief because I was "excessively demanding" and because I "cussed" at an employee, which isn't true. I had been suffering from left hip pain which is my good hip (shattered pelvis in 2003) starting the second week in May. I had told my office about it multiple times but I had been pushed off to their PA which was unable to do anything all I was asking for was a MRI and a injection. Finally the end of June I got to see the doctor after demanding that I would not see the PA that my appt was with the doctor & that's who I needed to see because of my new hip problems on my good side. He walked in the room & crossed his arm and said he was NOT going to up my medicine I ...

What exactly is going on with the D.E.A. doing, by not letting ANY shipments of Oxicodone go through to ANY pharmacys untill after the 1st of the new year? Can anyone please explain why each individual pharmacy is alotted only so many bottles, irreguardless of how much demand and supply is needed at certain pharmacys, moreso than others, yet, they are now only allowed to have shipped to them a "CAP" if you will, and they willl also not be available untill after the first of the year, as was advanced to me by my pharmacist. ANY INSITE? Im not going to ask weather they are going to do the same thing to these, as they did the Oxicontin, as THAT is complete & udder nonsense! ## It's actually a regulation that applies to all controlled substances, not just Oxycodone. After 10 years of attempting to gain weight its failed every time. I see all these people who have shared the same problem. Us skinny people need to stick together and demand justice for being ignored of our unhappiness. Some people cannot gain weight simply with diet and exercise the same way obese people cannot lose weight with diet and exercise as well. Its our bodies our choice of what we want. Im 28 5'3 and always could never get passed 105 ended up dislocating my knee cap and having back problems due to my lack of weight and body mass. I've taken this drug for sometime now, or at least one with a very similar look. Originally I had to be represcribed Levoxyl because of a DYE used in mfg.that made me itch profusely. Is it reasonable to demand name brand from the insurance. Any advice would be extremely appreciated. ## Hello, Shamsrumi! How are you? Are you having a problem with the generics? The only way most insurance plans will cover the name brand is if it's medically necessary. This medication is used to treat thyroid disorders and the FDA states that its most common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood swings and hair loss. ## Hello. I've probably tried every available treatment and Axiron has been more effective with absorption and boosted my levels more than any other treatment, including injections. I know the 30mg instant release is cheap. can get 240 for a cost of $23.00 with my insurance plan where as the 60mg extended release the cost went up to 351.00 for 180 pills thru my insurance plan. i saw where the new price next year will be almost $1000.00. ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? The price could go either way next year, there's no way anyone can definitively say that it will or will not go up that much next year. IT all depends on supply and demand, the same forces that drive the prices on all other markets. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been taking Tizanidine 12mg at night and 4 mg in the morning for over 3 months and have been experiencing some alarming abnormal dreams that caused Hallicinations. It seems the Hallicinations occur when I am already tired and then take my normal medication dose at night. Until last night the Hallicinations never caused me to jump out of bed in extreme fright. I typically remember when I have the hallucinations and they always frighten me. The Hallicinations are always thinking someone is in my room and I always demand "who are you?". Last night when the same thing occurred I actually jumped physically out of bed and tried to escape my room past the hallucinated "person" and remember having difficulty getting out the door of my room. I'm taking 15mg of slow release morphine 2x a day and feel no relief what so ever. It's been 5 days now. Should I request higher doses? ## Hello, Sarge! How are you? I am sorry that you're in pain. And yes, it may be best to speak to your doctor about exploring other options, such as raising your dosage, or trying a different medication. Just be careful not to demand any particular option, since that could cause them to assume you're drug seeking. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## To verwon, thanks for the reply!

Why is the price of methylphenidate so expensive now? My doctor informed me that it is dirt cheap, and is generic. I was diagnosed with ADD, and was informed it was a cheap drug since I could not afford health insurance. My memory and attention is poor. I am willing to try the drug in generic form. ## I take 10 mg methylphenidate three times daily for narcolepsy. I have no health insurance, but I have been paying $6 for ninety pills at the local Wal-Mart. Today I went to have it renewed and got hit with a $55 bill. I am a senior on fixed income. I would imagine that it is either caused by the increased demand due to upturn in ADHD diagnoses, or some effect of the wonderful new Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. Has federal funding for methadone decreased since the "opiodemic"? I started taking opiates in 1992 because of extreme pain in my hip which I had suffered with since 1979. The medical profession gave me NSAID's and a small script for Tylenol-3. I have since had 2 hip replacements. I am 59 yrs old. I was on and off methadone for years and have been on it steady for 10 years and stayed clean. During this time I have gone from paying $0 to what will start next month at $360.00/mo. ## Manufacturers are free to set their own prices in the U.S. according to supply and demand. Thus, it really has nothing to do with federal regulations, but more to do with market competition and capitalism. The FDA warns that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effec...

I'm trying to find a pharmacy that carries Qualitest Norco 10/325. I'll go to Fort Myers as well. Anyone know of a place? ## Hello, Kat! How are you? Due to the recent changes that required all of these combination medications to be lowered to now more than 325mgs per dose, many of them are hard to find right now, because the demand for these doses has exceeded the current supply and trying to find one from a specific manufacturer further complicates matters. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have a problem with the ones manufactured by other companies?
