I keep seeing there is a new limit on how many can be written each month but so far I haven't seen the limit just that their Doctors have changed their prescription. At the 120mg limit, that would be 80mgs of Oxycodone daily, or 66.67mgs at the 100mgs a day limit. My fiance has permanent spinal cord and nerve damage from a spinal fusion surgery in 2001. He was a very active, happy, outgoing person, now he lays in bed 24/7 and suffers. He has been on meds for a very long time and they have had to increase them due to his tolerance level. he has gone to the same Dr. and we have always used the same pharmacy. Today we went to his monthly visit and his Dr. said she had to cut his 360 methadone to 180, and his 240 30 mg oxycodone to 180. because the DEA has decided this is what he should take. She did not want to do it, but said the pharmacy would not fill it. We tried but she was right. they would not fill it. So we went back and got the 180 scripts but then she would not even fill those. His Dr.appt was on a Tuesday last month because of the holiday...

My Dr prescribes 20mg oxycodone on a monthly basis for my chronic pain. I've been having to take a UA every month when I go to see him. Is this normal practice? I don't abuse the pills. He will only prescribe 75 20 b mgs per month. This is not enough to control my pain but it at least lessens it. Should I find a different dr? I've been a patient there for 5 years. They also want to make sure that you aren't taking anything that hasn't been prescribed. Additionally, there are limits on how much they can prescribe, these were put in place by the DEA last year and that also applies to all doct...
