I was having acute cough problem for the last three weeks. The doctor suggested me Advent (BD), Thioasthaline (TID), Ambrolite syrup (TID) and prescribed complete haemogram, FBS and chest X-ray (PA) for further diagnosis. As per the doctor, the blood report was OK, except there were slight increase in eisnofil and ESR sedimentation rate and the X-ray report was also stated to be OK. However, the doctor added Defcort 24 mg to the above medication. I am having open angle glaucoma, I therefore want to know whether defcort should be avoided. ## I am having cough for last 5 weeks, have taken course of antibiotics and rotohaler 400 along with some cough expectorants, now my doctor have given me Defcort 30 and LCF syrup.... after 1st dose of Defcort this morning in less than 1 hrs, i feel extr...

I need the side effects of this high blood pressure drug ## Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, hypotension and dizziness. You can read more about the medication and additional side effects here: Is there anything else I can help with? ## How long does it take for side effects to go away after the drug is discontinued ## Theresa, it can vary, depending on the dosage and how long you were taking it. I am very sensitive to medications and usually found that when I suffered bad side effects and discontinued one, it took 2 weeks at a minimum for them to wear off and the max was usually about 4 weeks. Are there any other questions or comments? ## This is the worst drug I have taken. My fingers are swollon and itch so bad it feels an...

I am on the Diltiazem 240mg time release but have recently been diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver. Should I stop taking this med that was prescribed to me for heart races which only occurred one every couple of weeks or so about 6 years ago. I have ms also and was told that may have been the reason for these episodes. In any case how do you stop taking this medication? ## Hello, Tim! How are you? Stopping this medication abruptly may cause rebound effects, which could include dangerously elevated heart rate and blood pressure. If you want to try stopping it, the safest thing to do is consult your doctor and follow their instructions to gradually taper off of it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased uri...

I know some somas do wanna figure out if this one dose. 350mg ## K.. I TAKE HYDROCODONE.... WAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEM HYDROW AND SOMAS ## I think some misunderstandings need to be cleared up in regards to this post. The medication just called Soma, or its generics Carisoprodol do not contain Codeine, or any other narcotic. Carisoprodol is the only active ingredient in them. Thus, though it is a muscle relaxant that can help with muscle spasms that cause pain, it will not help with other types of pain, such as nerve pain or surgical pain as a narcotic would. It is solely used for muscle pain and spasms. And the tablet originally asked about here, with the 2410 V marking contains only 350mgs of Carisoprodol, so it is a generic for Soma that contains no narcotics whatsoever. You can di...

I have been taking this medication for quite a while and lately my blood pressure has been low. I just took it and it was 126/56/52. Do I have a problem? ## That's not very low. Normal is considered 120/80, with lower being better. The 126 is normal and the 56 on the bottom is slightly low, but not normally a concern if it's not causing you any symptoms, such as dizziness. Was the 52 your heart rate? If so, that is slightly low and you should talk to your doctor about these readings, including the blood pressure. Have you had any tests done recently, such as an EKG? Is there a chance that you're dehydrated? Learn more Diltiazem details here.

round white pill with 2410 V printed on one side ## id like to know what small round white pill had a V with a 10 over the V is ## Vintage Pharmaceuticals lists the tablet with the 2410 V marking as containing 350mgs of Carisoprodol, a generic for Soma. It is a muscle relaxant that is used to alleviate the pain associated with sprains, strains, and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Willowy, is that the complete marking? Can you provide any other details?

We take diltiazem cd in 240mg and 180mg. At this time we are unable to fill our prescriptions. The local pharmacies do not have prescripts in store and say their distributors do not have any stock and have no date when they may have some. Is there some problem with this med or do we need to change to something else? ## According to the FDA's webpage there aren't any current drug shortages of Diltiazem. I also don't think your doctor would write you a script for something that he didn't think could be filled. So I would imagine it's probably just those local pharmacies who haven't had a need to keep it in stock for a while. Have you tried contacting any pharmacies outside of your general area to see if anyone carries it? If it's of any help to your search, lis...

I have some gg249 bars, white, blank on other side BUT these have a coating. Are they real? ## Hi wonderer, Based on my research, GG 249 tablets are supposed to be legitimate 2mg Alprazolam tablets, manufactured by Sandoz. However there have been several reports about fake one's going around from those who choose to obtain their medication by non-licensed overseas distributors; at which point any pill is subject to being counterfeit, no matter what it might look like. I don't know about the "coating" details specifically, but I would recommend running a search on some images to get a better visual perspective so you can compare your tablet that way as well. When all is said and done though, it certainly sounds like it would be best to start getting your medications from ...

I have several physical back, neck, knee, foot issues that cause chronic pain. I have been on pain medications for about 20 years. Yes..I know it sounds like a long time. But I had small kids to raise and a very unsupportive husband. I am at a pain clinic. Recently I asked to be taken off of MS Contin 60mg. twice a day with 3 tablets of 4mg. dilaudid for breakthrough pain. I did take the dilaudid sparingly according to my activity level. Well..they wanted me to try long acting ELAGO in place of the morphine. I feel like the ELAGO does not last 24 hours and I feel like I need to take more 4mg. dilaudid. I also feel like I am getting a rapid heartbeat sometimes. Could you tell me what may be happening to me? I was hoping to not have to take anything other than the ELAGO ER, but it is not the...

Doctor increased dose from 180 and BP still not budging. Have large red bruises on arms, even small hit will cause great blood spots. Can this be the Dilitaz? ## Hi, Keith! Sorry about the problem you're having. And yes, that could be due to an issue with the medication and you need to contact your doctor about it as soon as possible. They'll need to check it out to ensure that it's not a serious health complication starting and you'll most likely need to switch to a different medication. I'm not sure why they just increased the dosage, if it wasn't working to begin with, then just trying a different medication is usually the best approach. How long have you been taking it? ## I was taking TAZTIA 180 for a long time, and it didn't really help much, then Dr. s...

DO SIDE EFFECTS INCLUDE COUGHING? ## Hi John, Yes, coughing is listed as a normal side effect of Diltiazem. Referenced from: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a684027.html#side-effects Did you have any other questions or concerns about this drug? Please post back if you do. ## Thanks David. I Figured coughing was a side affect. I asked my doctor about it because I had the same problem with Micardis. He didn't want to believe that was the cause. Hopefully, I can get a different perscription.

Hello, I am taking the 180 and about to run out, and have some 240 mgs left. Can i take them until my 180s get filled? Would there be any problems? They are the same except the dosage. ## Hello, Donald! How are you? It would be best not to raise your dosage, without your doctor's approval. Taking a higher dose could result in your experienced nausea, dizziness, lowered blood pressure and lowered heart rate, as reported by the FDA, which may put your life in danger. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Use a good pill cutter. Cut them in half. ## That's probably not a good idea since "ER" means "Extended Release" - they are likely coated to be time released and if you cut them in half, the dosage would take effect too much at one time. If the tablets don...

I did not want to switch my pharmacist literally gave me the generic without informing me! It wasn't until I got home later that day that I realized that it was different.
