Hi I am on this tablet for more than a month. Within the first week I came out in hives and dr put me on 30mg for 4 days then back to 60mg. Hives stayed away. For 2 weeks now I have had NO energy and muscle stiffness in my arms and now it is going to my legs. All I want to do is sleep and have not been to work this whole week because I do not have energy to get up in morning. I take my pill in the morning as prescribed by my dr. My back is starting to stiffen up and my neck feels as if it could snap off at any time. I have never felt so overwhelmed in my whole life and as sick as this. Please tell me this is side effects to this tablet and not the end of my life, as it feels like it today. I can not lift a pot of food of the stove without having severe pain in my elbows and musles. I fa...

I have been put on CymGen 30 but reading what some experts say Zoloft might be better. I also take Xanor 0.5mg and Atavan SL 1mg when I get panicky. Do you think I am on the right meds. ## What you really have to discuss with your doctor is what is the right medication for you. What the experts say is better for certain people and for certain conditions, may not be what's right and best for everyone. How is the CymGen working for you so far?

The dr prescribed me cymgen and I am very afraid of gaining weight as I already struggle with my weight. Is there anything I can do to ensure that I dont gain weight? ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and while this class of medications is known to cause some weight gain, it is usually not significant. That's why they are chosen, by many doctors, over the SSRI class, for patients with weight issues. As to making certain you don't gain any, there are a few things you can try that may help. One is to keep track of your eating habits, since this effects brain chemicals, it is highly possible that it could cause your appetite to become increased, which could result in your eating more food than you actually need. Thus, you should tr...

To clarify, did you mean to say "bi polar" and "fibromyalgia?" If so, I know from personal experience and from doing research that exercise can help both of those issues. In fact, a 2007 study in the Archives of Internal Medicine found that women with fibromyalgia in a four-month exercise program reported significant improvements in physical function, fatigue, and...

Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant and it usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full effect in your body and the side effects should start to taper off and lessen in severity in approximately that same...

allergic reactions since im taking cymgen. itchy skin. rashes, pimples etc...but when i stopped taking the tablets for 2 months, i was fine. kindly reply. ## Have you consulted your doctor? If you only experience these symptoms, when taking this medication, it is likely that it just isn't the right medication for you to use and you should talk to your doctor about trying something else.

I have been on Cymgen 60mg for three weeks and it is a miracle, from being super stressed, anxious, unable to sleep and very short tempered, I now feel great, sleep well awake rested and am calm without being docile. Maybe it just suits me. Started reading other comments, the only side effect I have noticed is that I am eating more, which isn't a problem as I normally don't take the time to eat...being too busy, stressed etc. It agrees with my body. ## It's so great to hear of someone where the medication is working!! With meds there are usually more negative effects in the majority than positive, so it's a relief to hear it does work for someone. I'm on Cymgen 60mg once a day (was on for about 6 mths and was doing well, so took myself off = NOT a good idea), so back...

iv been taking cymgen 60 for about 4 months tryed to get off the tablet but experienced bad withdrawals,so im on cymgen 30 now for 2 months but i want to get off this tablet but need to know if there is something non addictive to help get off this tab and help with the withrawals ## What has your doctor advised? Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and since it does work on brain chemicals, it can cause withdrawal and rebound effects, if stopped suddenly. Your doctor, however, should be able to help you taper off of it and may be able to suggest something, or prescribe something that will minimize the withdrawal and rebound effects. For instance, some people have good luck with Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl, because it is...

Hi there. I have just started with Cymgen and found that I cant sleep at night. The doctor advised me to take a sleeping pill for a week just so the body can get use to the Cymgen. Will this help? Will I be able to after a week, leave the sleeping pills and then still have insomnia? ## Hi, Rika! Sorry about the problem that you're having with the insomnia. However, there's really no way to say if this is going to work for you and if that side effect will wear off. And if it does wear off, it may take more or less than a week. Learn more Cymgen details here. The only thing you can really do is to try what your doctor has suggested and, if it doesn't help, talk to them again, as it may not be the right medication for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am on Cymgen and Nexium, and experience extreme tiredness and sleepiness ........... any comments? ## Are you aware of the side effects associated with each medication? Esomeprazole (Nexium) lists "excessive tiredness" as a serious side effect that should be addressed by your doctor as soon as possible. Cymgen (Generic Cymbalta) also listed "tired feeling" and "drowsiness" as common side effects. It's difficult to say which medication is doing it more than the other (if not equally), but none the less, I'd recommend contacting your doctor to get a better evaluation of what's going on and how you should effectively handle it. It may be that you need to change medications to something less harsh on your system. I hope this helps! ## Thank you David, i...

Morning, I have been on Cymgen for over three years and have now gone off it, I am feeling fine and much better than when I was on it but seemed to have gained a lot of weight is this normal and will it come right also how long does it take for the medication to work out your system ## Yes, the weight should start to come off, since you've stopped taking the medication, according to the NIH, but it may take a few months to see a real change. The same applies to any other side effects, it will take a few weeks for your body to return things to normal. Is there anything else I can help with?

Weaning may not be necessary, if you haven't been taking it for a long time. I live in South Africa and started using Cymgen about 3 years ago. I was on 30mg once a day. After deciding that the medication didn't help me, I decided to quit cold turkey. The only withdrawal symptoms I experienced was the dizziness and vertigo. But it was really bad. I started taking it again after a week. I decided to research this and found that antioxidants is supposed to reduce the withdrawal. So I started taking PROCYDIN* (don't know if this is available worldwide) with the Cymgen for about 2 weeks. Then when my Cymgen was finished I continued to take the Procydin only. I must say that I am not experiencing any withdrawal symptoms at this stage. I also don't get depressed (never had suicidal thoughts - even before) Procydin contains: Grape seed extract Proanthocyani...

I have been on 1 x Cymgen 60mg and 1 x Noxidm 10mg per day since May 2011. Approx a month ago I started experiencing major memory loss and lack of concentration. I stopped taking the Cymgen altogether and only take a half Noxidem at night otherwise I can not sleep. However, I am experiencing light headedness, chest pains, headaches and serve irritability. Is this perhaps because of leaving the Cymgen "cold turkey" ## I stopped taking CymGen 60 a week ago and for the last few days have been feeling like crap - no energy, my eyes don't feel like part of the head, clumsy, sore body, wanting to sleep whenever possible, and pain in my kidneys. I have now started taking it again and wil go and see my Dr. rather than try and do it myself. Oh the joys of medications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Hello all. I weaned off and stopped Cymgen (60mg to 30mg) for about a year. I started on Cymgen again (new medication did not help at all with anxiety and panic) but it doesn't help nearly as much as it initially did. Am I resistant to it now? Should I try a generic? Or do I have to look for another drug altogether? ## What dose are you currently taking? Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is most commonly used to treat anxiety, OCD, and depression. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Ref: Cymgen Information Are you on an other medications? How long were you off the new one that you tried?

How long did the withdrawal symptyoms last. ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, it is an SNRI antidepressant. How long the withdrawal symptoms last will really vary from person to person and a lot depends on how much they were taking and how long they were taking it. It could take anywhere from a few weeks to several months before things balance back out and you feel completely normal again. Learn more Cymgen details here. The worst withdrawal and rebound effects can usually be avoided by tapering it slowly, rather than abruptly discontinuing it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I was taking 30mg of Cymgen per day over a period of approx one year. Three months ago I had a small meltdown and my doctor doubled the dose. After speaking to him a week ago I asked whether I could resume 30mg dose. He agreed. However, since then I am plagued by very vivid nightmares (kidnapping, collapsing houses etc) and weird images. Is this in line with withdrawal? ## Yes. I'm having terrible nightmares too. But i think we have to stick it out.

Is Cymgen associated with lens opacity? I recently found out that I have opaque areas in the lenses of my eyes. I have been on Cymgen for several years and reduced my dose from 90mg to 60mg about 3 years ago. Vision disturbances are listed as a possible side effect, and I was wondering if Cymgen could be the cause as this condition is unusual in a person of my age (40s) ## No, even in the detailed side effects for medical professionals, I am only finding that it has been known to cause blurred vision in about 4% of the people take it. Learn more Cymgen details here. Have you taken any other medications, including any type of steroids? ## Hi, I also experienced a reduction in my eye sight, and had my eye prescription changed due to it. Other than that I've done really well on the med...
