The dr prescribed me cymgen and I am very afraid of gaining weight as I already struggle with my weight. Is there anything I can do to ensure that I dont gain weight? ## Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and while this class of medications is known to cause some weight gain, it is usually not significant. That's why they are chosen, by many doctors, over the SSRI class, for patients with weight issues. As to making certain you don't gain any, there are a few things you can try that may help. One is to keep track of your eating habits, since this effects brain chemicals, it is highly possible that it could cause your appetite to become increased, which could result in your eating more food than you actually need. Thus, you should tr... ...

I have been on Cymgen 60mg for three weeks and it is a miracle, from being super stressed, anxious, unable to sleep and very short tempered, I now feel great, sleep well awake rested and am calm without being docile. Maybe it just suits me. Started reading other comments, the only side effect I have noticed is that I am eating more, which isn't a problem as I normally don't take the time to eat...being too busy, stressed etc. It agrees with my body. ## It's so great to hear of someone where the medication is working!! With meds there are usually more negative effects in the majority than positive, so it's a relief to hear it does work for someone. I'm on Cymgen 60mg once a day (was on for about 6 mths and was doing well, so took myself off = NOT a good idea), so back... ...

Hi I am on this tablet for more than a month. Within the first week I came out in hives and dr put me on 30mg for 4 days then back to 60mg. Hives stayed away. For 2 weeks now I have had NO energy and muscle stiffness in my arms and now it is going to my legs. All I want to do is sleep and have not been to work this whole week because I do not have energy to get up in morning. I take my pill in the morning as prescribed by my dr. My back is starting to stiffen up and my neck feels as if it could snap off at any time. I have never felt so overwhelmed in my whole life and as sick as this. Please tell me this is side effects to this tablet and not the end of my life, as it feels like it today. I can not lift a pot of food of the stove without having severe pain in my elbows and musles. iv been taking cymgen 60 for about 4 months tryed to get off the tablet but experienced bad withdrawals,so im on cymgen 30 now for 2 months but i want to get off this tablet but need to know if there is something non addictive to help get off this tab and help with the withrawals ## What has your doctor advised? Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and since it does work on brain chemicals, it can cause withdrawal and rebound effects, if stopped suddenly. Your doctor, however, should be able to help you taper off of it and may be able to suggest something, or prescribe something that will minimize the withdrawal and rebound effects. For instance, some people have good luck with Diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl, because it is... ...

I have been on 1 x Cymgen 60mg and 1 x Noxidm 10mg per day since May 2011. Approx a month ago I started experiencing major memory loss and lack of concentration. I stopped taking the Cymgen altogether and only take a half Noxidem at night otherwise I can not sleep. However, I am experiencing light headedness, chest pains, headaches and serve irritability. Is this perhaps because of leaving the Cymgen "cold turkey" ## I stopped taking CymGen 60 a week ago and for the last few days have been feeling like crap - no energy, my eyes don't feel like part of the head, clumsy, sore body, wanting to sleep whenever possible, and pain in my kidneys. I have now started taking it again and wil go and see my Dr. rather than try and do it myself. Oh the joys of medications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... ...

I have been on cymgen 60 for about 6 months then reduced myself to 30 for past 4 months. I have always weighed no more than 54kg and am now sitting on 68kg. This is enough to cause anyone more depression than what they already suffering. Furthermore I also feel constantly tired, have dizzy spells. My husband says every week he has a different wife, one week Im arrogant and cocky, the next Im loving and insecure, the next Im nasty to everyone etc etc, isnt there a medication that can prevent these drastic changes in personality?? I have been on soooo many others over the years, nothing has seemed to help. I've been taking Cymgen 60mg for 2 years now and Eltroxin 0.1mg for a year. Is it advisable to take these 2 together? I've been suffering from constant anxiety for 4 months now. Should I take them on different times of the day? Or should I just let my psychiatrist review my use of Cymgen? Thanks! ## Hi Nellie, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between the active ingredients in Cymgen and Eltroxin; deeming them safe to take together. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. Missed Cymgen 60mg - Side Effects?
2 Replies RSS
I accidentally lost my Cymgen 60mg while on holiday and it was two days before I was able to get it again. The first day without it I experienced what I can only describe as a "zing" in my head. It's like I can see an electric pulse and feel the vibrations down my body. It's a sharp and quick sensation. Usually occurring when I stand up, or when I move around too much. The second day it got increasingly worse and I started a migraine. Is this normal? ## Yes, any time you've been taking a medication for awhile and suddenly miss a few doses, or stop taking it abruptly, it's normal to experience some mild withdrawal and rebound effects. Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and they can be especially problematic, since the... ...

Weaning may not be necessary, if you haven't been taking it for a long time. Is Cymgen associated with lens opacity? I recently found out that I have opaque areas in the lenses of my eyes. I have been on Cymgen for several years and reduced my dose from 90mg to 60mg about 3 years ago. Vision disturbances are listed as a possible side effect, and I was wondering if Cymgen could be the cause as this condition is unusual in a person of my age (40s) ## No, even in the detailed side effects for medical professionals, I am only finding that it has been known to cause blurred vision in about 4% of the people take it. Hi I have been taking Cymgen first 30mg for 2 months and then 60mg after the two months, I have been on the 60mg for 2 months, and I felt like my old self again. I felt positive about my live and much more relaxed, my libido has also appeared again out of nowhere. I had weird dreams in the beginning, but by taking cymgen in the morning instead of evenings the sleep issues was sorted. I am experiencing a dryer mouth but I just drink more water. Cymgen actually gave me the strength to go on a diet again, as I felt good about myself, and thought I have dealt with the challenges life threw at me in the last year. As I was super depressed. Hello. I have been taking Cymgen for 2 months on the 60mg dosage. One per day. Could you please tell me if it is likely to cause the sensation of numbness in my foot and lower leg and the continuous pain I experience in the left buttock. I have spoken to my doctor and he is adamant that there must be another cause for this and is sure that it is not caused by cymgen. The pain is unbearable and the tingling/numbness most worrying. I am usually a very active person participating fairly seriously in swimming, running and cycling. I have never experienced anything like this before. I would appreciate it if you could advise me. I have been on 60mg of Cymgen and 10mg of Trepeline for 3 months now. My water retention has gone through the roof and I have picked up 8kgs over the last three months despite following a controlled diet and exercise routine. Is this normal? ## it is the trepeline that cause the water retention and not cymbalta,I am on cymbalta for 2 years now and lost 8ks ## Actually, it could be either one of the medications, or maybe the combo of taking both. They have both been known to cause it in a small percentage of the people that take them. Have you consulted your doctor? Edema can be a dangerous condition, if left to continue out of control, so you may need to switch to other medications, or adjust these ones. ...

cymgen withdrawal symptoms

Took cymgen 60mg for over a year, and went to another doc cause I had manic episodes randomly. I went cold turkey from smoking after 6 years, alcohol and from cymgen. My head is really sore and first few days the pain in the head and vertigo was really bad. Its been a week now and those symptoms have nearly gone. But now I suffer from insomnia and bad dreams. Struggle to fall asleep, then when I do I get woken up by a nightmare. So its not fun. But you just gotta brave it out, the human body is stronger than withdrawal from drugs. ...

I have been on Cymgen for 3 months now. First on 60mg in morning and now reduced to 30mg at night. I have started weeing 3-4 times per night although I haven't had anything to drink for hours. I also have a lot of acid. AND Insomnia !! Will it help if I take it in the mornings maybe ? ## Then you will have daytime sleepiness. Get off this drug if you can. It is not the right one for you and the side effects are not good for you. If you are female, no one will have sympathy with you for not sleeping because it will be assumed to be due to menopause. They will blame you if you are fat or if you had bad "bedtime Hygeine".Not one thing I tried worked except cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) 10MG or 1 MG klonopin to sleep.
