I have been taking Cymbalta for 6 yrs. along with Wellbutrin (150mg) Could it cause sores in my mouth? Cymbalta is a horrible drug the side effects are horrible. It makes you have all of the side effects it says. Every single one. All I could think about was hurting myself. I started 30MG Cymbalta three weeks ago. I have major depression. I have noticed that very quickly I felt amazingly good with all sysmtoms gone. Then the next day, back to anxiety and depression. I went to 60MG. I was like a zombie. Then I stopped for 2 days. On the 3rd day I felt great again. So I went back to 30MG. No effect. Any one else go off of cymbalta and experience muscle/leg cramps? I'm on day 7 of going off and since day 5 I've had horrible legs muscle pain. I didn't quite realize it was going off the cymbalta till yesterday. Started taking 40 mg of Prozac I'm fine depression wise. I'm a bit cranky, but I can't stand the leg pain. Yes, that can happen if you abruptly stop taking these types of medications. Usually, the best thing to do is to have you slowly taper off of one, while going up on the other. I have been taking 60 mg. of duloxetine once a day, in the evening for depression and diabetic neuropathy mainly. I have been taking it for almost 6 weeks with little results yet, but side effects that are very irritating. The main one is moderate/severe nausea sometimes several hours a day, sometimes a couple days a week; cold chills; mouth sores that sort of heal up and then get worse again. Other places I have read that the side effects go away in 1-2 weeks. Mine have not. Should I keep trying and see what happens? You're definitely not alone! As you probably know, for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is usually to taper off of them, if possible. I was placed on 30mg to start, with progressive increases monthly....at first wk on this dose, noticed itching & hives (mostly on scalp, neck, arm areas) then, had noticed severe shaking of both hands on & off thru out day & night. The worst side effect was by far dizziness & 1 episode of passing out! I literally was walking into a rm., as i closed the door, got dizzy, world blacked out & i woke out of this on the floor!!! I've been on Cymbalta 60mg for my Rheumatoid Arthritis and chronic back pain. It took a few weeks to get over the initial side effects and then I did fine. The last few months I've been having weird symptoms that neither of my Drs can figure out. I have these days where it seems like hard labor just trying to breath. My pulmonologist says there is nothing wrong with my lungs but I have to be on oxygen at night and often in the afternoons. The fatigue is overwhelming. Then there are the waking dreams. Ihave been on cymbalta for 10 years. I tried to taper off but the side effects were like the worse flu I have ever had. I'm am depressed again and feel that it's time for a change. I don't want to increase dosage I want off. I have finally lost the weight I gained over the years on anti depressants and refuse to start gaining again. Does anyone have urinary problems whilst taking Cymbalta ? I am now taking 60mg in the morning and 30mg in the evening. It is weird - if I just ‘think’ that I should need to wee, I can suffer from an urgency to do so and then I never pass a lot. I sometimes have to ‘concentrate’ to allow the flow of wee to start and then it is slow and I never pass much. In fact I never seem to pass much wee no matter how much liquid I drink. I have been on anti depressants for some 11 months, first on Lexapro and for about 4 months on Cymbalta. My word, Cymbalta are so much better FOR ME! Yes I get the insomnia but have found taking Phenergan helpful, taking 25mg probably most nights. I can work well, do gym walking, and to be honest, function quite normally. My anxiety levels go out of whack, say once a fortnight, usually lasts a day but with the support of my wife, and friends it passes quickly. Just call people up, be honest how you feeling and the ones who really care and understand will help you through that day. The most helpful source of hope for me? I've been on Cymbalta for 5 years now. I went from 30mg to 90 mg. Back down to 60mg. The reason is I felt it no longer helped & the side effects out weighed the good, but then again its been awhile. Cymbalta is the only medication that has totally worked for my panic attacks & social phobias. But for about the last 2-3 years now I've gained at least 30lbs, my ears ring so loud, pain in my joints & insomnia. Oh and yes my scalp itches like crazy & horrible dreams. I have been taking cymbalta now for 6 weeks my dr upped me from 30mg to 4g 3 weeks ago. I feel very down in the morning still & jittery symptoms seem to get better as the day goes on, however I do take .125mg oh klonapin if needed for anxiety. I've been on Cymbalta for 3+ years & currently taking 90 mgs a day. I am a diabetic w/ fibromyalgia, lymes & a recovering alcoholic. It has been working quite well for me HOWEVER... if I miss a dose or even take it later in the day than I should...LOOK OUT!
