Doc has me on Cyclobenzaprine HCl (10 mg). 1 every 8 hrs as needed for back pain. These are very effective for the pain but make me VERY sleepy. I have read positive reviews on Soma. Does Soma have the same drowsy effect or can they be taken during the daytime ## Both Clyclobenzaprine and Soma, which contains Carisoprodol, are muscle relaxants and can cause drowsiness as a side effect. How long have you been taking it? i have 2 different types of muscle relaxers that i stored in the same bottle. the 1st is white with DAN on one side and 5658 on the other. the second is tan/orange and has M on one side and 751 on the other. i am assuming they are the same medicine- cyclobenzaprine- in different strengths. which is stronger? ## Both pills in description are Cyclobenzaprine HCl (10 mg). I have a bottle of Cyclobenzaprine HCL 5 mg, but it expired on 12/5/2015. I still have a prescription from 2015. I have been having back pain and cramping. It is now 2017. Is it still safe to take the medication that I have now? ## This medication doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it can lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when new. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth.
