Doc has me on Cyclobenzaprine HCl (10 mg). 1 every 8 hrs as needed for back pain. These are very effective for the pain but make me VERY sleepy. I have read positive reviews on Soma. Does Soma have the same drowsy effect or can they be taken during the daytime ## Both Clyclobenzaprine and Soma, which contains Carisoprodol, are muscle relaxants and can cause drowsiness as a side effect. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects usually hit their peak around 4 to 6 weeks of use, once the medication reaches its full effectiveness in the body, and they will taper off in severity, after that. However, if you have been taking it longer than that and are still having such severe problems with the drowsiness, then you should definitely discuss it with your doctor. Is there anything el...

Hi there ,I am going for a Ultra Sound guided Breast Core Needle Biopsy tomorrow after noon. The doctor had prescribed me 2 tablets of Ativan at .5 mg each. I had taken two before, and nothing happened. There was no drowsiness, nothing. I am extremely terrified about tomorrow, and need something for pain and anxiety. Would it be safe to take the 2 tabs (1 mg) of Ativan before bed, and the cyclo at 10mg right before the procedure? ## I wouldn't change what you are taking before the procedure, without checking with your doctor. Some medications may not be safe to have in your system, along with any medications they may use, such as anesthetics. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

How are you? This tablet is manufactured by InvaGen Pharmaceuticals and they do list them as containing 10mgs of Cyclobenzaprine. That may be why you had trouble finding them, the marking is actually ig 283, with capital letters, so that's not a 1. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. How are you? Actually, you'd be better of with the Ibuprofen if your doctor approves of you taking it, since it is classified by the FDA as an NSAID that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Cyclobenzaprine, however, is a muscle relaxant, not an analgesic, so it won't do anything to help with a toothache. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything e...

what is the shelf life of cyclobenzapine 5 mg? ## Hi cindirs, According to Rising Pharmaceuticals, a manufacturer of Cyclobenzaprine, the expected shelf-life of the drug is 24 months (2 years). Reference: However, there's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication/shelf-life of a drug. According to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after...

WHAT IS THE REAL NAME OF THESE TWO MEDS...I AM ON BOTH.ONE IS FLEXIRIL(CYCLOBENZAPR), WAHT IS OTHER ONE? ## Hi Figgy, They are the same! Just different manufacturers. ## Hi Figgy, Just wanted to provide you with a second opinion and some additional information on comparing the two tablets... Karen is correct. Flexeril is quite simply another brand name for Cyclobenzaprine. Much in the same way an orange is also referred to as a citrus fruit, generic medications such as Cyclobenzaprine also have other names they go by when the same drug is being manufactured by one or more companies who can't copy the same name for legal reasons and therefore have to come up with new names for marketing purposes. However, it should be noted that some manufacturers produce a generic drug as well as a ...

I still have a prescription from 2015. I have been having back pain and cramping. It is now 2017. Is it still safe to take the medication that I have now? ## This medication doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it can lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when new. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. The best thing to do would be to dispose of and see your doctor for a new prescription, if one is necessary. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to know what the expected shelf life is for a Cyclobenzaprine 10 mg tablet that's a tan pill with M on one side? I was prescribed this medication for muscle spasms. ## According to Rising Pharmaceuticals, a manufacturer of Cyclobenzaprine, the expected shelf-life of the drug is 24 months (2 years). Reference: However, my understanding is if they are no longer in the original factory sealed container and have been dispensed into a pharmacy bottle, which exposes them to heat, light and moisture, then the expiration is one year from the date they were dispensed. After that time period, they begin to lose effectiveness. NOTE: For maximizing the shelf-life, the product description depicted on Rising Pharmaceuticals website as well as on DailyMed suggest that the recommended...

I am prescribed cyclobenzaprine 10 mg for muscle spasms. I recently strained my rhomboid muscle and went to the ER and they prescribed methocarbamol 500 mg. Can they be taken together? ## These are both muscle relaxants, so it is usually best to stick with just taking one, to avoid the possibility of overdose. The FDA warns that taking too much of this class of medications could result in nausea, dizziness, severe drowsiness, shallow breathing, and possibly respiratory failure, which may be fatal. How are you doing? Are you on any other medications?

My husband had spinal surgery on Monday and has been suffering from debilitating muscle spasms. He took a 10 mg Cyclobenzaprine just over an hour ago but has just received 750 mg Methocarbamol. Is it safe to go ahead and take the new pills now? He is in agonizing pain. Hoping someone can help... ## Hi Becky, Sorry to hear about your husband's debilitating condition. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Cyclobenzaprine and Methocarbamol. While this does not necessarily mean that no interactions exist, it is my personal opinion that they're deemed as safe to take together. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to double check with the prescribing doctor before administering anything t...

Can I take naproxen 440 mg & hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine together? I fell down the stairs and have tremendous back spasms when I move at all. Thanks. ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between Cyclobenzaprine and Hydrocodone, which states that taking the two together may increase your risk of certain side effects (such as: loss of balance, dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awareness & slow or shallow breathing). They go on to note that if the two medications are deemed to be required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to lessen these risk factors. I hope this info helps and that you get aro...
