Cutting Viibryd Pills

I have taken 10 mg of viibryd for a week with loose stools, cramps in my stomach, sleepy in the morning to the point I need to pass out for 2-3 hours and then wake up for a few hours to then start being very aggravated and on edge. Not to mention the whole week of medicine has caused terrible headaches & jaw pain ## I noticed my jaw pain first with zoloft then changed to Viibryd and still hurts , the headaches started for me on the 40mg ...the stomach issues are still here .. I just started cutting my 40 mg into 20mg and trying to wean myself off.. not to mention the leg cramps and I feel like I am not here .. in a fog all the time .. I just dont like it .. maybe u will feel better .. good luck :) ## KK, you should look into trying something else. While side effects should taper off...

I can't stay awake! I almost made my daughter late to school today! I'm on 3 mg of Xanax a day and 40 mg of by rid PLUS my thyroid is out of wack! I know I need to be on more! I think this is why I'm so sleepy all of the time, but I'm thinking of cutting my viibryd in half and just taking 20 mg a day! To see if that will help! I'm on a drug they give soldiers that come home from war and take 3 a night to sleep or I have horrible nightmares :/ Any ideas??? ## It is most likely the Xanax, it is well known to cause drowsiness and, in some case, when other options aren't working, it's actually used to treat insomnia. Have been on Viibryd for almost a month. Dr. having me top out at 20mg for now, so cutting 40mg in half. Initial stomach bowel problems solved by taking in the morning with toast/banana or steel cut oatmeal. My problem is that my anxiety level has shot a ton higher recently. Normal risks/worries with work becoming obsession like. I went on this drug b/c of one particular event at work that I was obsessing over. Now I am waking up at 4am, not able to fall back asleep, with thoughts running through multiple work related problems. Has anyone's Dr. kept them at 10mg ? or switched them from 20mg to 10mg and stayed there longer term ? Trying to figure out if 10mg is right for me or if that's not realistic and Viibryd is just not the right drug for my anxiety. See my Doc this week. ## ...

I have a 40 mg pill of Viibryd and there is no score on it can it be cut in half for 20 mgs? ## Hi Judy, My general rule of thumb is that a pill can be cut in half (even with no score line) as long as it's not an extended-release tablet; more over because I'm not sure as to how cutting it will have an effect on it's extended release properties. If I were in your shoes, I'd still feel comfortable cutting it in half taking into consideration the details mentioned above. I hope this helps! Does anyone else agree?
