Found red round pill with yellow center in a cup of tea. The pill was split in two, one half was recovered but the other half dissolved in the tea. No side effects noticed except headache. Could you possibly identify it? Regards ## Found in South Africa, tea bag that was used had a small cut near the edge and I suspect that iswhere the pill was inserted in the bag. It was from a carton that only we had access to.

found a capsule red end than a gray color it was cut in half had the #500 on it ## If you don't have the complete imprint, it may be difficult to determine with any precision, however there are over the counter Acetaminophen products that do meet this description, so I have a strong suspicion that it what this is. The grey area is used in the middle of the rapid release tablets, for Tylenol and the generics and store brands. Was it found in the U.S.?

When me and my friends went to a rave a couple of weeks ago we got this pill of a friend, it was a yellow square with 6 dots (like a domino) imprinted on one side and just 1 dot in the middle on the other side, which also has tiny red and grey looking like specks. I have no idea what it is called, I was only told it was an E pill.. I'm pretty sure there was Speed in it too. I'm trying to find the name of this pill but I can't find it anywhere online and none of my friends know the name of it. Would be very helpful if anyone has an idea of what it might be?? Or something close, thanks. ## Found a small yellow pill cut in half has red specks and looks like a 9 on it with another number but can’t read it any ideas

Small oblong caplet white with red/pink speckles no imprint no opportunity to cut in half looks old. Found in deceased mother's medcine cabinent ## Because there's no markings, it is going to be difficult to determine what this tablet contains, unless you were to pay to have it lab tested, somewhere. U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have a unique imprint on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. However, the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there are many, many pills on the market, both over the counter and prescription (and black market) that could meet that physical description. ## Looked like a pill my dad used in the 70s for weight loss ## There is a smal...

the caplsule is about a half inch long, its unmarked, and when i cut it open, a brown powderwith a slight sparkle and minimal white flakes in it was inside ## Where was it found/obtained? With no marking, it may be difficult to narrow down what it contains, however, we can rule it out as being a manufactured prescription medication, because they are all required to have imprints to enable their identification. This doesn't hold true, though, if it was something put together by a compounding pharmacy, if it's a foreign medication, or an over the counter item. I'm going to do some more searching. If anyone else has any ideas, could you make a post to help out? ## I have a pill in a red unmarked capsule. Suposadly it is "dianabol" a steriod. Inside there is a hard powde...

Can anyone help me identify a white round tablet with reddish specks, that only has "IBU" printed on one side & nothing else? ## I have recently found bag with adipex along with a worn out round white with red specks or dots, if there had been a score or imprint it is no longer there. The same kind of pill was cut into quarters already amongst them all. This is incredibly important and need to know the potential danger my child may be dealing with through mixing etc... Thank you in advance.

found red/white capsule pills in son's bedroom. They were in a baggy. He has been acting a little different in the last month but we have put it down to age (18) and the stress of football training. He is a senior this year, starting wide receiver and corner. Please help. I am not sure where to turn, Q ## I found red and white capsules with no markings in my granddaughter's room. She is in outpatient care for depression and cutting. How do I find out what they are without turning her in to the counselors? ## @scared mom, Unfortunately, there's really no way to ID a pill without an imprint. All Rx and OTC drugs in the U.S. are required by law to have an imprint; otherwise it could be a vitamin, herbal, energy, diet, foreign or illicit. It is possible that the imprint could...

I found a zip lock with 2 pills - larger than an asprin, very smooth almost shinny outside. The pills have light tan / reddish specks on the outside but pure white when cut in half. Are round and not flat. No markings. ## If there are no markings, it is going to be difficult to determine exactly what these contain. Off hand, I can think of several nutritional supplements I've purchased that match this exact description. Having no markings rules them out as being a U.S. manufactured prescription product, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of OTC items, as I've mentioned. There is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## Years ago I was g...

Hexagon (triangle with cut ends) Orange pill with imprint W 741 Ranitidine 150 mg Acid Reducer 'KIRKLAND Signature' on label Packaged by Perrigo (MI) for Costco Wholesale Corporation ## The information in this post is correct, but just to add some additional information.... The actual manufacturer of this tablet is Major Pharmaceuticals Inc. and it is no longer limited to just Costco, it is sold throughout the U.S. as the generic in many different stores now. I have found them available as the generic at Kroger, QFC, Fred Meyer, Walgreens and Bartell's. Are there any questions I can help with? There are more Ranitidine details available here for anyone in need of more information.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I SPLIT THE PILL IN HALF ## My doctor prescribed 60 MG tablets and told me to cut them in half if I need 90 mg. I din't think much about it, but after reading the information on MS Contin, I am worried that it may be dangerous to cut them in half. I've been doing it for about 5 days and have not noticed any problems with cutting them in half but I will call the pharmacy tomorrow and ask him. ## Is it in order to break GP1 glimepride into two to reduce the dosage to 0.50mg.Will it cause any problem and whether any reduction in effectivenes of the tablet will be possible. ## I have done it for a while to cut down, and a pharmacist said I could. No problems. But my dr got furious when I told him, and I have read on Internet now not to. But the pills I take are solid...

Meant to be 20mg of codeine phosphate but i've only ever seen white codeine pills that are quite small and not shiny. Looks a bit like a Smartie but a bit bigger! The red comes off when you wash it. ## I have the same and it's supposed to be adderrall 30mg. It's in a pack 10 pop outs. Plain red coated with two cross lines. You know, where you can cut it? But they are crossing each other like an X.

Can anyone help me understand these OPs? The whole pill is plastic, right? I mean, unlike MS Contins where the coating is time released. So my question is-If the whole thing is a solid time release pill, why can’t I cut it in half? I am not trying to abuse it. My doctor made me switch from 5mg instant relase oxycodone to 10 mg oxycontin and it’s way too strong. It makes me feel sick and way too medicated to drive. I am taking these so I can have a life, not another car accident. So I would like to reduce the dose but it says not to cut them & I am not sure that is applicable to the plastic pills. ## According to medical literature, "extended/time-release" pills are not intended to be cut in half because it can release the full contents of the pill all at once (ri...

does methadose cut the effectiveness of azithromycin or does Azithromycin cut the effectiveness of methadone? ## Neither, the listed reaction between them has nothing to do with reduced effectiveness. It's actually due to the fact that taking them together increases the risk of prolongation of the QT interval and cardiac arrhythmias. Are there any other questions or comments?

Can I cut a 5mg eliquis in half, instead of getting the 2.5mg ones? I need to reduce the dosage after a successful ablation. Please comment. Thanks! ## Can I split a 10 mg pill of Eliquis in half? ## Does the tablet have a score line? It appears that the Eliquis tablets are film coated according to what I see on DailyMed. If there's no score line then I would not recommend it. ## Eliquis does not come in a 10 mg. tablet, just 2.5 and 5 mg. 2nd Eliquis is not scored, 3rd Eliquis is not film coated, just a simple compressed tablet. The tablet is so small it would really be difficult to split evenly. ## What did your doctor tell you to do? If he/she told you to decrease your dosage, why can't they give you another Rx? I don't think Eliquis is a drug you can or should cut in hal...

To all of you who find that the A333 doesn't work as well as the Watson 932 you are right. i have been using the Watson for 3 years now with great pain reduction and no side effects. Now after 3 months on the Actavis A333 I am in a lot of pain and am constipated most of the time. Since the FDA allows a 20-25% tolerance, a 10mg pill could only be 8mgs, lets face it you know its not going to go the other way, that would cut into profits. As an organic chemist dealing in DNA & RNA production for the monomers I can tell you that the slightest change can make all the difference in the end product. I can bet the farm that Actavis made the A333 cheaper than Watson so therefor that is why the chemist at Actavis make it and not the chemist at Watson. Any variation in production will make...

my Dr has suggested that I cut Fentanyl 12.5 patches in half to reduce dosage and eventually stop using them, I have been using them for about three years/3.5yrs But I am confused as the leaflet says not to cut them. I would like to stop using them and this has been his only advice. ## Hello, Dewi! How are you? It depends on the type of patch, it seems there are some that can be safely cut, but it would be best to ask your pharmacist, before doing so, to be sure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## There are differnt types of patches some have a liquid dispencing method and would not ...

I have some Metformin Hcl 1000mg tablets. My dose has been reduced to 500 mg. Is it safe to cut the 1000mg ones in half? ## It is safe, as long as you weren't taking a time released formulation. This would be denoted on your prescription label by an abbreviation such as ER, XR or SR. There will usually also be a warning on them from the pharmacy that says do not crush or chew, swallow tablet whole. Metformin is an oral antidiabetic medication and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, headache, hypoglycemia and flatulence. More details: Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a question. I split my metformin er in two and took it because I didn't know I wasn't supposed to. Will I be okay? ## Becky, it could result in your getting too much of the medication, at on...

Checking to see if white pill, marked M and then 3 below the cut line, is in fact metoprolo er tab suc 100mg. First time I've seen these. They are larger than the last generics I got. I'd feel better if the 3 were a 1..... CVS - caremark sent these. The local CVS had no idea what they were. ## My last prescription for Metoprolo er tab suc 50mg was a white round with m50. Doctor called in prescription renewal. They are a thicker round white pill with m2. Mfr is Dr. Reddy's. I don't know mfr of m50. Both are mail order from CVS Caremark. Are these the same pill? ## Yes, from what I've found, both of these tablets are listed in the prescription drug databases as extended release Metoprolol. Yes, these are listed as being regular release, so they're safe to cut or break, if your doctor approves.
