oxycodone v cut
Is it ok to cut a v 48 11 in half? And also will it be ok to do normal activities after I take a half? ## Anyone??? ## Come on ## Hi kay, Usually if there is a score line (divid) embedded into the tablet, it means the manufacturer purposely made it so patients could easily cut it in half. Since this particular tablet is scored, I would personally feel safe doing so. Regarding your concerns about doing normal activities afterwards, there's really no way to know ahead of time how this medication is going to effect you (since it really can effect each person differently). Taking half seems like a good place to start though, if you want to assess how your body reacts/responds to a smaller dose of it, before committing to the full amount. Some people may feel like their abilities to perf... ...

oxycodone 15 mg-can I cut in half for half dose
I need to know if I can cut my 15mg oxycodone pills in half (they are light green with 15 on one side and M in a box on the other side). The pills are scored, which makes me think that I can safely cut them in half. I don't want the full 15mg dose, would prefer only 7.5 by cutting in half if possible. ## Yes, this is a regular release Oxycodone, the generic for Roxicodone, so you can safely cut them in half. The only time it isn't safe is if a medication is time released, or there are instructions specifically saying not to do so, because some medications can cause severe stomach irritation and other problems if released too fast, such as Potassium tablets. You may experience side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there any questions o... ...

oxycodone 10 mg pink 56
I'm taking 5 mg of oxycodone 2x's a day. Can I split the pink oxycodone 10 mg hcl k 56 in half and use up extra tablets that I have in hand? In other words, I don't think these are extended release tablets so it should be okay to split them. Input appreciated. thanks. ## Hello, Allan! How are you? Yes, the only time released one available are the name brand Oxycontin, so this is a regular release tablet which can be cut in half, unless your doctor or pharmacist gives you some reason not to do so. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Verwon: Thanks for the response. This confirms what I thought. I'm ... ...

15 mg oxycodone doctor
Hello, I live in Waldorf Maryland I was seeing a wonderful doctor until he passed away. I was getting 90 30mg pills until I changed it to 120 15mg. ( I know what your thinking but I didn't want to have to cut it in half when I needed less ). Because of all the crap associated with anyone taking an narcotic I'm having an extreme issue with finding another doctor. For years I saw this sweet old man and filled them in the office pharmacy I had no idea there was this much of a stigma about the pain drug and the people that take them. If anyone knows of a doctor that I could talk to that dose not give people the run around. ## HI, Gail! Sorry about the problem that you're having. Since you were seeing the same doctor for a very long time, you may not be aware of everything associ... ...

White Oblong Pill cut in half
It is blank on other side. There is a score mark. Someone said hydrocodone another said oxycodone. ## Are there any markings on it, or just the score? If there are no markings, it can be ruled out as being a U.S. manufactured and approved prescription medication, because they are all required to have markings to enable their identification. However, it could be any one of a large number of over the counter products and there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Does anyone have any ideas what this tablet contains? ...

Op 20 Pill Pink - cutting in half?
Is it possible to at least cut these in half in order to take a lower doseage? ## These are time released tablets and, even though they have tried to formulate them to prevent it, cutting them in half could still result in your getting too much of the medication released, at once. The Oxycodone in this is a very potent narcotic analgesic and getting too much at once could be very dangerous. If you require a lower dosage, you should contact your doctor, as they can prescribe them in a lower amount. Are there any other questions? ## I have cut these into quarters with no adverse affects. So it is basically become a 5mg dose. I like these because they do not contain acetaminophen like most other narcotic prescriptions. So one pill can last me up to 2 days. ...

this is a white oblong tablet with these markings- 8I or I8 ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Ibuprofen (800 mg). Just changed to oxycodone 15mg imm rel
I was just prescribed this med as Previously I have been on 5/325 oxycodone x4 daily. ( for 3 years now) I cut them in half for 7.5 dose as prescribed for breakthrough pain x3 daily. I also take 200mg Ultram ER. once a day. Will this new med react differently in my system? Last longer or shorter term relief? Dr changed due to the apap and liver concerns. ## If you have been taking Oxycodone already, your reaction and side effects really shouldn't be any different, though since it is a higher dosage that you are getting all at once, since it's immediate release, they may be more pronounced. Such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. It also should last about the same amount of time, it just releases the medication faster than the regular release tablets that you were t... ...

Oxycontin OP Duration 40mg Cut in Half
Given the protective qualities of the new Oxy OP, if you cut, say a 40mg tab in half, does it still release the drug slowly? I noticed there is no warning label on the bottle saying do not chew. In other words, given the new formulation, if cut in half does it still retain its slow release quality? ## Retaining their time release properties, even if someone tries to cut them in half, crush or chew them is exactly how they are supposed to work. However, it is still not recommended that you alter your dosage, without your doctor's approval. Oxycontin contains the very powerful narcotic Oxycodone. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any questions or comments? ## I have taken one 80mg oxycontin and 1/2 of an 80mg (I cut an ... ...

Is it safe to cut these types of pills in half?
Cut a 10 mg oxycodone in half. It did have a score line down the middle. I feel fine, but never doing it again. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Adam! How are you? If it's the time released formulation Oxycontin, then no. That creates the risk of your getting too much of the medication, at once and puts you at risk of overdose. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Op 30 Can You Take Half
Can you take only half of a OP 30 pill? ## No, they are time released formulations of Oxycodone, so cutting it in half could result in too much of the medication being released at once and may cause an overdose. Learn more Oxycontin details here. Are there any other comments or questions? ...

The New Oxycontin Op
Does it hurt the op 40's if they are cut in half? I don't like to take the whole pill at once. ## Since these are time released tablets, it isn't advisable that you cut them in half, because even with the new formulation, it could still result in the Oxycodone being released faster, so you get too much in your body, at once. There are lower dosages available, have you tried asking your doctor about just prescribing a lower one? ...

What To Take For Break Through Pain
I have been on Oxycontin ER 80mg twice a day for almost 7 years and it has been moderately to sometimes completely effective in eliminating my chronic abdominal pain. However, there are times (1-2 times a week, or so) when I can't get the pain under control. Currently, I cut one of the pills in half, which I know I shouldn't do, but it does what I want it to. Considering the strength of the Oxy that I'm on, what would be a better alternative to what I've been doing? I was considering asking my DR for an Rx of OxycoDONE (same thing but faster acting) for the break through pain an, if I do, what strength should I ask for? Or, if that's not a good idea, then what else would you suggest? Any help would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU! ## Discuss your problem w/ your Dr... ...

I find my self wanting to nap all the time
I been taking 1 a day, half in the morning and half in the afternoon. I work a very physical job and suffer from aches and pains. I'm fine at work, but at home need to nap alot.sometimes just hours after I get up. Is this the percocet? ## no, your being tired is a side effect of busting your ass at work. ## I have been reading that breaking the pill in half releases the medication much faster and much more powerful than taking them whole, that could be a factor for wanting to sleep so much along with what Jigga stated about busting your butt at work. ## Percocet contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, so the drowsiness, in this case, has nothing to do with cutting or breaking the pill, as it is a regular release. The drowsiness has to do with the fact that Oxyco... ...

Oxy 30s impossible to find at Walgreens in Clearwater
I've been trying to fill a script for 180 oxycodone 30mg since Jan 5 with no luck. I spent the better part of the day today looking again. I was told by a pharmacist that the oxy 30s are being re-formulated and are on back-order. I found them at Baylife pharmacy on Gulf to Bay for a ridiculous price, $7 per pill. The SweetBay on 580 in Dunedin had them but would not fill my script as I am not an existing customer. I went back to my Dr. and had him write my script for 15s instead, the caveat was he cut it in half, but hey, half my script is better than none of it. Anyway, the Walgreens on Roosevelt and 58th filled 102 oxy 15s for $60.92 (with a perscription discount card I got off the internet) at 3:00 this afternoon. This is totally f***ed. Next Dr. visit, I am going to tell my Dr. ... ...

i posted this in the wrong place before i apologize! i think this is right...
i was prescribed 0.5mg the prescription bottle says "take twice daily as needed" and i have been taking it as such, sometimes i skip days i was prescribed i wanna say oct. 1st 2011 so it has been 2 weeks since i've been on it and i have not yet taken a FULL pill, i'm afraid of becoming dependent or addicted because i just got over oxycodone withdrawls and those were hell and i heard benzo withdrawls are no walk in the park either, but anyway i cut my pill in half everyday i don't take them on any schedule really, i usually cut it, take a half when i wake up so i can be out and about during the day because i have severe anxiety (i have borderline personality, schizotypal and panic disorder) and it really DOES help with the panic attacks i get! but then i take the othe... ...
