Diabetic patient taking insulin 60 units and taking glimepiride metformin twice a day and taking Telma H 1 a day and Amlopres in the night and B12 vitamin at night. my creatinine has always been normal. The result from 7/1/09 was 1.14. I am a type 2 diabetic with mild-mod hypertension. I take metformin 1000 twice daily, byetta 10 mcg twice daily, diovan 160/12.5 in the am and diovan 80 mg at night. I am really concerned about this sudden rise in my creatinine. Over the past year my levels ranged from 0.7 at the lowest to 0.83 at the highest - and now this reading. I had the study repeated this morning and am waiting for the results. About 1-2 months ago, my BP increased to 160-170's systolic and I was also started on Bystolic 2.5 mg. My pressure has since returned to normal since I stopped using Aleve. Few days ago during routine blood work my creatinine was found to be 1.7. No diabetis. BP always cheques 130/80 with one tab a day of Amlopress 2.5. I am 69 years old. Urologist has prescribed Nefrosave by Fourrts with Taurine 500mg and Acetylcysteine 150 mg. to be taken twice daily. Will my creatinine level reduce within the normal range?? My blood work after one week showed a reduction of 0.1 that is from 1.7 to 1.6. Please advise.

I believe my creatinine level has gone from 1.5 to 1.7 in about 15 days and 2.5 in another 15 days. As a result of this I have stopped stanlip (fenofibrate) suddenly. My eGFR shows a level of 50; my Creatinine, Serum is 1.46 and my BUN/Cr raion is 14. I take Tricor, Lovaza, Pravastatin for lipids and Lisinopril for blood pressure. What does my eGFR indicate? ## My trigylcerides are held in check by Tricor. A year ago, my lab numbers showed Creatinine at 1.22 and last week was 1.46; eGFR listed as >59 last year and only 50 last week. Carbon Dioxide down to 19 last week from 22 a year ago. So, on Monday 2/7 Dr had these specific issues retested. Oddly, Creatinine now back to 1.23; eGFR above 60; not sure yet about Carbon Dioxide. Still using Tricor, thru all these tests. My serum creatinine level has been 2.0mg for four years and I've been suffering from diabetes for 12 years and high blood pressure for 8 years. To control my creatinine I have been taking a tablet called Al-donil OD 150mg (one tablet per day). My sugar level is normal as well after taking the tablet and my blood pressure is normal (130/90) after taking the tablet. Please advise whether I can use Nefrosave in place of the Al-donil OD 150mg? A few months before my creatinine is 1.68 goes to 2.14 then I take ketoanalogues +essential amino acids. Renalog for 3 months my creatinine level goes down to 1.30. Should I stop taking this med.
