As to the dosage, you should use whatever dosage your doctor has suggested. If your blood pressure is high, it is necessary to bring it down, as soon as possible. Depending on your levels, that may require a higher dose, for awhile, to bring it down fast. Your doctor should be monitoring you regularly, that way once it does come down to more normal levels, they will be able to see if the medication is taking it too low or just maintaining it there and they can then adjust your dosage accordingly. I am 57 and have been taking coveram 5mg for 6 months. About 4 months ago my face started looking like it was permanently sunburnt. My doctor has taken me off it and put me on Coversyl 10mg. Side effects of Coveram 5/5: I was taking Zestril 20 mg for many years and my Dr just recently 5 weeks ago suggested I change to Coveram 5/5. But since making the change I suffer from continuous mild headaches, slightly swollen ankles and have now developed rashes around both ankles. I am taking coveram 1/2 of 5mg tablet as doctor was still concerned about BP, I increased to a full tablet. My small continuous stomach ache is now much worse mainly during the night. Coversyl plus did the same and ended up in hospital with acute pancreatitis and that is why I was changed over to Coveram. ## The following symptoms are all listed as side effects of Coveram: stomach pain diarrhea constipation muscle cramps feeling sick (nausea) Does the stomach ache still occur even when you are off the medication?
