It is typically prescribed for relief of episodic and chronic constipation and for the management of neurogenic bowel dysfunction, as well as part of bowel preparation before medical examinations, such as for a colonoscopy.[1][2] Bisacodyl is a derivative of triphenylmethane. It was first used as a laxative in 1953 becau...

I've been taking 1mg of lorazepam and I get my refill at a different pharmacy that I've never used before. They give me a small, white pill with the number 4008 on one side and what appears to be a cursive V on the other. Is this Lorazepam? ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? Yes, this tablet does contain 1mg of Lorazepam, it's just made by a different company than the one you were taking. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking 5-10 amlod benaze capsules for over a year and have had no side effects or any other issue. Recently my doctor changed the dosage to 5-20mg and I have experienced dizziness. Should I revert back to the original dosage? (I believe I got a false reading on my last blood pressure test). ## What are you current blood pressure readings? Learn more Amlodipine details here. Learn more Benazepril details here. At this point, you need to find out if the dizziness is because your blood pressure is going too low, or if it's just a temporary side effect of the medication.

My daughter is 14 yrs old and 120 lbs and 5 ft 9 in. She went to doc this am for strep like symptoms, but it came out neg but doc prescribed liquid amoxicillin (7ml) every 12 hrs. Her throat is feeling worse - could she have the wrong dosage? ## Amoxicillin comes in 125 mg, 250 mg, and 400 mg per 5 cc. The top reasonable dose is 90 mg per Kg, and she is about 55 kg. Amoxicillin is usually given 2 or 3 times per day. So - bottom line I don't think she is in danger of too high a dose. ## @worried, I'm trying to figure out why the doctor even prescribed an antibiotic if the results came back negative for an infection? That just doesn't make any sense logically, unless there's something we don't already know? And with her throat now feeling worse after taking it, I wonde...

For a while Correctol was unavailable while the manufacturer changed ownership. Correctol is now owned by Bayer and the website says Correctol is available again. However, I have not yet seen it return to my local store shelves in the USA. Correctol.com ## Hello, Ken! How are you? I have been to two doctors. One said I didn't need to stop eating before taking pills. Other doctor said to space them. now I'm questioning how much time I need to wait before taking the pill. I would appreciate hearing from anyone re spacing medication. Thank you. Also, do most people notice a change in flexibility when taking the medication. I'm not sure that I do. ## Proteins in your food can decrease the amount of the medication that is absorbed, so it is usually recommended that it be taken 1 to 2 hours, before meals. How long have you been taking it? If you haven't been on it for long and have been confused about properly taking it, then it may not have reached its full effectiveness for you, yet.

My daughter is slim, 40 kgss, prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin twice a day for tooth pain, is this too much ## How old is she? Past the age of 12, it is usually dosed according to the severity of the infection, prior to that, it is dosed by weight. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. That is not, however, a dangerous dose. That amount can be prescribed, if necessary. ## My 13 year old has tonsillitis can she take a 500mg amoxicillin capsule??

The doctor prescribed Flupen 250 after circumcision. I take 2 pills every 2 hours. My question is, is that the right dosage? My brother cant remember what was said but the package says 2 pills every 2 hours. ## Hello Thenji, According to the NIH Flupen contains the active ingredient Flucloxacillin, which is typically used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria. The NIH goes on to say that the common adult dosage is 250mg 4 times daily which would come out to taking it every 6 hours, however, it is important to follow the instructions that your doctor gave you as they are most informed of your medical needs. I suggest that you call your doctor and check to see what his administration instructions were. I hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I've always had issued with construction growing up. Recently went to my gastroenterologist and he performed a colonoscopy with he didn't finish due to my colon having a curve. Now I need to get a CT scan colonoscopy. In the meantime he prescribed Kindness 145mg. I took it on Tuesday for the 1st time immediately after eating. My pharmacist didn't label the directions on it so I had no idea it was to be taken 30 minutes prior to eating. Wow! I had diarrhea about an hour later and lasted for 12 hours. I couldn't even drink water without running to the bathroom. Now I'm confused because I also drink Synthesis for my hypothyroidism disease. This also has to be taken on an empty stomach. I called the pharmacy and they recommended to take synthroid 30 minut...

Been using hydrocodone for years for various pains, specifically military injury to knee. The VA Doctor in an effort to get me to take less, cut me to 2/day, but increased dose from 5 to 7.5/325. Didn't help, but I am now down to 2/day regardless. But every time I re-order, I still get the 7.5 instead of the 5 that I want. Is this a serious problem or should I just take the 7.5's and forget it.

I have 500 mg capsules of penicillin V. What is the correct daily dosage for an adult wieghing about 145 lbs? ## 500mgs is a normal, adult dosage, though sometimes it is adjusted according to the severity of the infection being treated. We aren't medical professionals, though, what has your doctor suggested you take? This is an antibiotic, so common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Walgreens in Georgia orders 100 capsules for me every three months. Must be careful with this Rx, however it works better than anything available for insomnia. It is definitely available. Most younger pharmacists have never heard of it and the older pharmacists know it but "haven't had a script in 30 years for Seconal". The new company that purchased rights to produce Seconal (Valliant) has been under fire for hiking the price to sometimes over 4000.00/100 capsules in this EIGHTY year old drug. This is insane. It is used in Oregon and California for assisted suicide and apparently works very well. Regardless, for an insomniac, nothing works better than carefully used Seconal. It has been vilified to the point physicians are scared to prescribe. So silly. ## One should be car...

I was in ER this morning and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis...I was prescribed 20mg of prednisone 1x daily...my question is, the ER doc said if I started them tomorrow (Weds) that I would be in great shape by Sunday....as I'm leaving for vacation....He said 5 days, and I'll be good....he prescribed me 15 pills, which makes me think he meant 3x daily for 5 days???....however, bottle says 1x daily???....do you think this could be a mistake? ...thank you in advance! ## You should take it as directed by the doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fluid retention, insomnia, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? I apologize. I need to correct a date. I have been on Mobic since April 30. With Mobic, I noticed some relief immediately. The only problem I have had from Mobic at all is stomach upset if I do not eat enough food when taking it. I have found that if I eat half a banana, take the Mobic pill, then eat the rest of the banana and then drink the required water I have zero stomach issues at all. It has been a tremendous help, but I noticed most of the impact in the very beginning of starting the prescription. I am hopeful that, with time, it continues to improve my condition. I am also hopeful that it may work in combination with Lyrica, but the side-effects worry me. From what I have read of the experience of others, it seems that those who experience side effects so early on do not fare well.
