I was recently told that simvastatin depletes CoQ10, leading to the "weakness" side effect. Anyone heard this? ## I have to agree with that statement, as there are a number of discussions relating to Statin drugs (atorvastatin, cerivastatin, fluvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin) depleting the body of coenzyme Q10. Other types of drugs like beta-blockers also deplete the body of this too, but one way to help counteract this is to supplement with CoQ 10. Personally, If I were short on this vital nutrient, I would supplement a minimum of 400-600mg a day while taking one of those drugs that inherently depletes it. That's just me, as I would prefer to be well stocked if I became aware that this was happening to me. I hope this helps! ## Thank you

does coQ10 help with the itching? ## Because itching is listed as a "serious" side effect of Simvastatin on government webpages, it is recommend that you contact your doctor immediately as opposed to using other means of controlling the itching. Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a692030.html#side-effects It could be due to a serious allergic reaction; in which case you'd essentially have to stop taking what's causing the reaction in the first place before noticing any results. NOTE: The MayoClinic also states that Coenzyme Q10 may cause rashes and itching of the skin in some people taking the supplement. That said, it's possible that this may not even be a good option after all. I hope this info helps to answer your question!

I was wondering if anyone is taking Metoprolol and CoQ10 together and if your blood pressure dropped too low? I want to start taking CoQ10 but afraid my BP will drop too low. I see there are different doses, 50ml, 100ml, and 200ml. I was thinking of starting out small and taking 50ml to see how my body adjusts. Any information will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance ## Hello, Rich! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between them, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. What are you usual blood pressure readings? ## Prob between 110/70 to 120/80. Pulse is usually between 55-60 BPM. My doc recommended I ask a pharmacist. Go figure. Lol. I did so and they said I can take it but be aware of any symptoms like dizziness, fa...

cq10 helps high blood pressure? ## In several studies CoQ10 has actually been shown to lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The effect of CoQ10 on blood pressure is usually not seen until after 4-12 weeks of therapy. Typical reductions in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure with CoQ10 therapy in patients with high blood pressure are in the 10% range. I am suffering from a low sperm count / low motility and bacterial infection (Pseudomonas). Is Carni Q tablet useful to cure this? Please advise. ## Carni-Q is a nutritional supplement product that contains CoQ10 and L-Carnitine. Thus, it's really not going to help with either one of your problems. Did your doctor tell you to use this? An infection requires an antibiotic. As to the low sperm count and motility, the treatment for that will depend on what is causing it. It could be due to diet and deficiencies in certain nutrients, the infection itself or something else entirely. ## it is infected by bacteria Pseudomonas, give me a solution for cure this ## yes Dr is given that tablet any alternative tablet is there for infection curing please suggest me ## In which diseases carni-Q t...

I've been experiencing muscle pain while taking Atorvastatin / Lisinopril, and have to take Co-Codamol just to be able to move and do simple jobs. I don't want to take statins at all, but I do take coQ10 60mg. Please advise. ## It is most likely due to the Atorvastatin, it is well known to cause joint/muscle aches in some people that take it, according to NIH reports. How long have you been taking it? It may also cause nausea, dizziness, and headache. Have you informed your medical provider of this issue? You may need to try a different medication. ## My advice is to cease taking this drug after you inform your doctor. Statins attack our muscles, and that includes our heart, which is our No. 1 muscle. That is a major reason why cardiac failure rates have zoomed since the introdu...

What are the uses of "sq forte tablets" for men? Please explain. ## SQ Forte is just a dietary supplement, it is not gender specific. It contains nutrients and supplements that are beneficial to both genders. It is listed as containing COq10, Selenium, Zinc, Lycopene, and Vitamin E. Some people may experience nausea, after taking it, due to its potency. Is there anything else I can help with? ## When I used it I had some serious breathing problems.

I wanted to know more about the side effects of long term use? ## How does ubicaar help with tinnitus? I have been prescribed ubicaar 1 TDS by my Ent doctor. How does it work? I have had tinnitus for 3 weeks. ## This is just a supplement that contains LCarnitine, and COQ10. It is most commonly used to treat or prevent deficiencies in these vital nutrients. The NIH warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, and diarrhea, due to its potency. There is no guarantee that it will help with tinnitus, it really depends on what is causing this issue. Are you on any other medications? HAs there been any change, yet?

What is your experience of KurZyme? ## Kurzyme is a supplement, claimed to help with digestion. However, as a supplement, this also means that it is not proven to actually help with anything. Does anyone have experience using it? ## The brochure maintained that KurZyme was the product to end all products, no need for CoQ10 etc.etc. I had one of the symptoms it claimed to cure. After a month or so I noticed no benefit from using it. I requested a refund but was told that the refund date had passed. I mentioned that I had 2 bottles that could be recycled. The Operator said that they did not return the bottles, but they threw them away. That told me everything...if they could replace a bottle of this stuff for less than the cost of postage, it has to be junk. I plan on pursuing this as I a...

Does this really work? Does anyone have experience using this product? ## is dr. al sears legitimate anti aging doctor ## Yes it realy works better than CoQ10, But Dr.Sears did not invent it ! It is Ubiquinol (Kaneka QH®) Developed by Kaneka Nutrients, And you can have the same stuff by other brands, for as little as 1/6 of the price of Accel ! ## High quality CoQ10 works, but Ubiquinol is more expensive because it is highly unstable and susceptible to oxidation. Dr. William Judy, long-time CoQ10 researcher has published research showing that the CoQ10 absorbed in the intestines is ubiquinone b...

Is losartan a statin? My blood pressure is high and they changed my pill from perindopril 4mg to losartan potassium 100 mg. Now my blood pressure is even higher and they have given me bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg. Can l take an herbal remedy such as co-q10? ## No, losartan is not a statin. It is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist drug used mainly to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Among the benefits of taking CoQ10 supplements is helping to maintain healthy blood pressure levels that are already within the normal range. This should not be confused with the treatment of high blood pressure which falls outside of the “healthy blood pressure” category. While there is good evidence to support the use of CoQ10 in the treatment of high blood pressure, this should only be...

I had a heart attack and DES stent and was told to take Plavix, Metoprolol, Lipitor, and aspirin. I quit taking Plavix after 6 months even though my cardiologist wanted me to take it for 2 years. I also quit taking the Metoprolol, Lipitor, and aspirin. Well that was 9 months ago when I stopped taking everything and I feel great. My doctor says I was lucky that nothing happened. Lucky? Is Evion 400 good for reducing dark circles? ## How can I use evion 400 to treat dark circles? ## This is a vitamin E supplement, so there is generally no harm in using it, unless your doctor instructs you not to do so. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, and flaking. Are you worried about eye circles? Are you on any other medications? Do you get enough sleep? ## Hi, I'm a 25 year old girl working for a software company. Due to high stress levels I got deep rooted dark circles. I've tried many remedies such as potato slices, cucumber slices, sebamed, CoQ10, etc.. but could not get results. A year ago I went through Laser surgery for zero eyesight. Can you please tell me whether I can use Evion 400 as a remedy?
