I am 57 + having high blood sugar level for the past 18 months. I am regularly taking Voglistar gm1 for the past 16 months. I am a vegetarian. My blood sugar PP ranges between 200 - 360. I am not feeling any type of deficiency. I regularly go for a brisk walk in the morning for about 3 to 4 Kilometers daily. ## While you are a vegetarian, it is also still essential to ask what types of foods you eat? Many fruits and vegetables can contain sugars, which can cause your blood sugar to become high. How much do you eat at each meal? How often do you have a meal? The NIH lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, diarrhea, and hypoglycemia.

I have recently found out that my sugar level in my blood is 170. Took a zpack streroids for plantars facia, 60 days ago. Began taking metFORMIN 40 days ago. Also have hypoglycemia (take levothyroxine 150mcg). Also have arthritis take sulfasalazine, plaquenal and mobic. I am male, 52 yrs old, 30 to 40 pds overweight. Is it possible the blood count is still high from taking the steroids? Should I expect it to go back to normal in any certain time? Feel like dr.s are overreacting to level of sugar in my blood. ## A Z-Pack doesn't contain steroids, it contains the antibiotic Azithromycin and that shouldn't upset your blood sugar levels. It is also doubtful that a steroid would still have an effect on them 60 days later. And Hypglycemia is high blood sugar/diabetes and wouldn't ...

I am type 2 diabetic, currently on Glipizide. On long term Prednisone for polymalgia rheumatica for 2 years. Just had cataract surgery and have been on Durezol for 2 weeks t.i.d. Blood sugars are very erratic since doing the eyedrops. MD says no interaction! but something is going on. Eye surgeon says NOT the eyedrops. Any idea why this is happening? ## The Durezol contains the active ingredient Difluprednate, which is another steroid class medication, just like the Prednisone. So yes, it could be causing the problem, especially if you are still taking the Prednisone, since it means that there are now more steroids in your body and they are known to have an effect on blood sugar levels. Have you doctors given you any ideas for resolution, such as adjusting your diabetes medication? ## I...

for how long does Jalra 50 bring down the sugar level? can it be taken without doctors prescription? ## Jalra contains the active ingredient Vidagliptin and for better blood sugar control, it's usually taken twice a day, at breakfast and at dinner time. My husband started taking Chantix 3 weeks ago and is doing well with not smoking, however, he is a type 2 diabetic but he has also controlled it with diet and Metformin twice daily. Now since he has been on Chantix, his blood sugar level has been over 600. We went to the doctor yesterday and he told him that it was the Chantix and stop taking it. He is watching everything that he eats and drinks and this morning his blood sugar is still 440. The doctor is sending him to a Diabetic Control Center but it is going to be a week or so. Has everyone else had this problem? ## Chantix contains the active ingredient Varenicline and yes, there have been reports of it causing diabetes in some people, as well as it causing extremely high sugar levels in existing diabetics and there is a current inv...

Since I have started taking losartan 25mg I have had high blood sugar. I have not changed anything I'm eating or doing. I have been taking it for 6 weeks. I have been diabetic for many years and it has always been controlled. I saw my doctor in February and everything was fine until I saw my heart doctor and he started me on this for my heart failure. It doesn't list this a common side effect but a rare one. Have you heard of this before? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The good news is that there are other medications you can try to improve heart function that are in the same drug class. When I had congestive heart failure about 5 years ago and had bad reactions to many medications, but doctor put me on Atacand. It contains ...

I take this medication, but I am having trouble keeping my sugar down. It has been running high for a few weeks. My question is- can I take more Metformin to regulate my sugar? It is highest at night. I take 2 per day which is what is prescribed. Can I also take one before I go to bed? ## Just add Fenfuro in your existing medicinal regime and feel the results within 3-6 months. ## I wouldn't suggest changing your medication, without first consulting your doctor. They are the ones who will best know how to help you with your problem. Another thing that you have to take in consideration is your diet, if you are still continuing to just eat whatever you want, including foods that contain high amounts of fats and sugars, you can't expect this medication to be able to completely cont...

I have nighttime acid reflux mostly. The ranitidine works to keep my acid lower but I get very vivid dreams. I try occasional Gaviscon but all these antacids with artificial sugars give me bad gas and are bad for you. They say tums and other antacids would taste too chalky w/o the sorbitol? Too much baking soda is bad for your kidneys... PPIs are generally bad for you. My head is elevated and I don't have any food or drinks for 3 hrs. before bed. Any ideas on a safe antacid for nighttime GERD? ## Hi Trish, Sorry to hear about your condition with GERD. My dad has a similar problem and also doesn't eat or drink a few hours before bedtime. This month my doctor advised my wife to take ecosprin 75mg before pregnency for three months. What is role of ecosprin 75mg in pregnancy and fasting sugar? ## First off, a fasting sugar of 104 isn't bad, normal levels are between 80 to 120. Has she asked her doctor why he advised her to use it? Ecosprin contains Aspirin, it will not do anything for her sugar levels, it is nonsteroidal anti-inflammator that is used to relieve pain, fever, swelling and for its blood thinning properties.
