Thought there would be some instructions and side effect information in the bag when I picked up my prescription, but don't have any info. Can you help? ## Hi Dean, The Gaba stands for Gabapentin and the Lido stands for Lidocaine. I'm not entirely certain of the other abbreviation, but do have my suspicions that it stands for Amitriptyline. Both Amitriptyline and Gabapentin are known for coming in pill form and I have also heard of Gabapentin being mixed in these types of creams by compounding pharmacies. However, I have not been able to verify the same when it comes to Amitriptyline. I just don't see any other medication name with this prefix. Aside from the prefix, the other thing that leads me to believe that Amit stands for Amitriptyline is that NIH lists it as being mar...

I was on ortho prefest tabs for several yrs. for menapausal symptoms...went on nat. compound creams which are no longer working...is ortho prefest still made? ## I haven't found any information stating that Ortho-Prefest (estradiol + norgestimate) has been discontinued, so I'm led to believe that it's still readily available at your local pharmacy & with a valid prescription. Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, a Johnson & Johnson company based in Raritan, New Jersey, manufactures and markets medication with the same active ingredients as Ortho-Prefest; but lists them under different names such as: Ortho Tri-cyclen LO and Ortho Evra. Maybe you can contact them for more specific details on its availability, considering that they have similar brand names: janssenpharmaceutica...

I was on ortho prefest tabs for several yrs. for menapausal symptoms...went on natural compound creams which are no longer working...is ortho prefest still made? ## I'm not sure, I haven't found anything specifically saying that it's been discontinued, but some of these HRT medications are getting difficult to find due to the new laws. However, there are several generics available, so you should be able to find one that has the right combination of hormones and dosage to help you. Learn more HRT details here. Do you have a current prescription for it already?

Are there any really good pain creams that can help with trigger finger pain compounded by osteoarthritis? ## Hello, Irene! How are you? What have you tried, so far? I'm wondering if something such as BenGay might help? Although, I am not sure how good it will work for such an issue, it may also cause some skin irritation and redness as side effects, according to the FDA. Does anyone else have any suggestions that might help?

I have nerve pain from shingles, what is the best compounded topical cream too use. ## Hello, Roger! How are you? I really can't say, compounded creams require a prescription from your doctor and are prescribed according to what they know works best according to their experience with other patients. Thus, there is no set ingredient list. It can vary from doctor to doctor. However, many people with this issue benefit from something that specifically treats nerve pain, such as Gabapentin, either topically or orally. It is an anticonvulsant that also treats some forms of nerve pain and mood disorders. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, to the oral form may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings, dry mouth and weight gain. What has your doctor advised you to use? ##...

Where can I fill a prescription for C Ketr Bup Eth Pp Cream? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? I'm not sure what all of these abbreviations stand for, but I can tell you that these creams must be custom created by a specialty compounding pharmacy, so a regular pharmacy won't be able to fill it for you. The precise ingredients can vary from doctor to doctor and depends on what's being treated, but the FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, dryness, irritation and rash. Do you have a large hospital nearby? If so, you can probably call them to find the nearest compounding pharmacy.

Is there a lyrica cream for topical application? Does it work for peripheral neuropathy? How (where) is it available? ## Hello, Ruth! How are you doing? There is no actual manufactured cream that contains Lyrica/Pregabalin. Such creams are usually specially ordered by a doctor and then made by a compounding pharmacy, so they require a prescription. Learn more Lyrica details here. And, as with anything, some people get great results from them and some do not. You can only try one and see how it works for you. Can anyone tell me the prescription trade name for a cream containing baclofen 20 mg, ketoprofen 150(?), and lidocaine 50 mg? ## From my own investigation, pain creams that contain these types of ingredients are formulated in compound pharmacies and therefore do not have a trade name like many other topical prescriptions. These are just generic topical formulas that can vary in ingredients with anything from what's listed below, to other combinations that I have not included here: -Baclofen, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen Gabapentin, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen, Cyclobenzaprine, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen Gabapentin, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine, Dicyclomine -Ketoprofen, Gabapentin, Lidocaine, Amitriptyline Hope this helps! ## My compounding pharmacy calls it Baclo-Keto-Lido 2/10...

10% cream white diabetes type 2 ## Because of the outrageous number of pills I take, and before I start with this one additional, tell me what or how it will help me. right now . I have severe spasms and cramps which come on in any part of the body and at any time. ## Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it is often used in these compounded creams to help treat topical nerve, or muscle pain that is caused by conditions, such as diabetes. Its typical side effects may include skin redness, flaking, irritation, and burning. It won't do much to stop muscle spasms, and cramps, though. Has your doctor prescribed it for you?
