The NIH warns that they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, increased urination, hypotension, and dehydration. Is hydrochlorothiazide the same as bezide? Does bezide increase sensitivity to light (like hydrochlorothiazide) and increase your risk of lip cancer 4 fold? ## Bezide contains the active ingredient Bendroflumethiazide and yes, it will also make you more sensitive to the sun and heat, just like other diuretics in this class.
