I HAVE BEEN TAKING ALL TYPES OF ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDS AND ORALGEL MAXIMUM STRENGTH SO WHAT ELSE CAN I TAKE? I'M DESPERATE. IT REALLY HURTS, TILL I GET THIS TOOTH PULL NEXT SATURDAY. ## Clove oils and bc powders are the best. You can buy them over the counter. I use a brand called goody's. I also suck on ice when it gets so bad nothing works, cause I go through this very often. All my teeth are bad, and damaged at the roots. ## You can try Krys's ideas, but otherwise there isn't a lot anyone can suggest, since we don't know the specifics of what NSAIDs you've been taking, and how much of them you've taken. Orajel is usually good, but it doesn't tend to last long, since your saliva tends to wash it away very quickly. The ice might not be a good idea for ev...

what are the side effects of taking Dida? ## Dida is an over the counter herbal supplement that is claimed, but not proven, to help with gastrointestinal problems. It contains oregano, olive leaves, potmarigold, thyme, cardamom, cloves, garlic, cinammon, fennel oil and peppermint oil. It should be used with caution, because some of the herbs it contains, such as the peppermint oil, oregano and cloves can actually further irritate some gastrointestinal problems, such as gastritis and gas. Side effects are not studied for these types of products, as is done for prescription medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

I used Bactrim; it takes more time to work than clindamycin. It has taken four days for the swelling to go down, but it has gone down and is almost normal now. I have double strength pills and will take them 2x a day for ten days. I also used the clove oil on my gums and that is working very well. They are going from red to pink again. You can buy this a CVS or Walgreens in the toothpaste isle. I also have been taking four advil 2x day for the swelling. ## Hello, KLF! How are you feeling? I'm glad the antibiotic worked for you. How fast it helps really depends on the nature of the bacteria and the severity of the infection. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything e...

Can this medicine be used to gratis a tooth infection? ## Hi Heidi, I have my doubts, because Nitrofurantoin has poor tissue penetration and is not indicated to treat anything other than simple cystitis (urinary tract infections). I would however recommend using clove essential oil for tooth and mouth related infections. Not only does it numb the pain, but it also kills the infection. A cheap natural alternative to prescription drugs, that is more effective in my opinion. I hope this helps! ## Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic that can be used to treat various types of infections, but it usually isn't the first choice for a dental infection. I have a bad abses tooth is keflex a good antibioti to take for it ## Although Keflex (Cephalexin) is commonly prescribed for tooth abscess, some patients believe that Clindamycin is a better option for these types of infections. In my opinion, it's best to stick to more natural options, such as Clove Essential Oil, to avoid many of the undesirable side effects that are associated with prescription drugs in general. However, it probably just comes down to whatever your doctor recommended for you and whether or not your body reacts favorably to it. I hope this helps!

what antibiotics are mainly used for wisdom teeth infections ## I'm not too fond of prescription drugs, but I think Cephalexin is one of common interest. It is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. To view information about this drug please click on the link below... Although I personally suggest looking into Clove Essential Oil. It's a natural remedy for dental issues as far as alleviating tooth aches (anaesthetic properties) and fighting infections (antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal properties). Just make sure you don't use a lot of it at once (no more than a 2-4 drops in the desired area, as it is very concentrated and may be toxic in large doses. This generally is not something to worry about as you won't need more than the minimum amount to...

Can the antibotic cefadroxil be used to treat a tooth abcess. ## Cefadroxil can in fact be used for dental infections; although amoxicillin and metronidazole are generally used as first line of treatment. Learn More: Cefadroxil Details If you're experiencing a lot of pain, I would also try dabbing the area with Vanilla Extract and/or clove essential oil. Just thought I'd post for those looking for a remedy without spending money on drugs: theamericanwriter.hubpages.com/hub/3-Tooth-Pain-Relief-Methods - Take the poll. ## Hey Mike, thanks for sharing this info! I always try my best to opt for natural remedies since they usually don't have the same risk factors as prescriptions do with regards to side effects. Clove oil and pure vanilla extract have done wonders for toothaches I've had in the past, eradicating the infection within days. However I haven't tried any of the options suggested in the link you posted, such as cayenne, baking soda & sea salt, or pepper & sea salt.. so I'll be sure to keep those in mind in the rare event that I experience a toothache again. Have you had success with any of those remedie...

Can I use cefadroxil in treatment of dental infection post dental procedure? ## Cefadroxil is commonly used as an antibiotic to prevent infection 'before' dental procedures. I'm not certain however about it's use 'post' dental procedure. You may want to confirm that with your doctor if you feel concerned. There's also the option of Amoxicillin, but I personally suggest looking into Clove Essential Oil. It's a natural remedy for dental issues as far as alleviating tooth aches (anaesthetic properties) and fighting infections (antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal properties). Definitely worth looking into if you're on a budget and need something effective. Hope this helps!

can you take sulfameth-trineth for an absessed tooth ## Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim is an antibiotic and can be used to treat various types of infections, including dental abscesses. Has your dentist instructed you to use it? Only asking because it would be vital that you take a full-coarse of this medication in order to get rid of the infection indefinitely. Otherwise it can come back and become even more resistant to the medication. NOTE: Clove oil is another excellent option as backup for pain relief and killing off the infection. Are these used in dealing with pain from a toothache? ## From what I could gather, Teva 149 is identified as Naproxen (500 mg). This medication probably wont aid in curing a tooth infection, but I believe it should help alleviate any pain that may be associated with it. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Naproxen Details By the way, I've also had success using pure vanilla extract as well as clove essential oil, as alternative options that create somewhat of a numbing effect as well as exhibiting powerful antibacterial properties. What sort of dosing regimen are you following to get the relief you need?

Can IP 272 be givn o treat athletes foot ## I honestly don't think you need medication to treat athletes foot; just proper home treatment and not walking around barefoot in gyms or other public places that can prolong the condition should be enough. Garlic is a great antifungal antiseptic. There are several ways you can use the garlic to treat athlete's foot. 1. Crush a couple cloves into small pieces and add a small amount of rubbing alcohol and water; soak foot for at least a half hour. 2. Crush several cloves and add to olive oil for 2-3 days. Then rub the mixture all over foot. (I found this to work the best because the olive oil keeps the skin moist) 3. You can even try cutting a clove of garlic and placing the pieces directly onto the skin. Also do not forget to keep shoes...

i have an infection on tooth extraction site prescribed clavemel forte 500 3 times a day for 5 days how long will it take for infection clear please. ## Hi Annabel, The infection should be gone close to or by the time you run out of the Clavamel forte (Amoxicillin + Clavulanic Acid). If the infection is still there after the 5 days of antibiotics, you'll want to speak with your doctor. In addition, I have heard that vanilla extract works well for tooth infections as well as clove essential oil. I have personally used both of those oils for an area on my gum that became swollen and it healed the area in a couple days. Those oils also helped to numb the pain I was experiencing, so it may do the same for you as well. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Amoxicillin + Clav...

Dida seems to be 'the ' medicine for bloating, allergies etc are there any side effects of taking this medicine? ## Dida is actually an herbal/naturopathic product that is available over the counter, so while they claim it helps with many things, this is actually not proven. This also means that the side effect profiles for it have not been studied, as is done for actual medications. The ingredients list includes the following: Oregano, Pot Marigold, Olive Leaves, Thyme, Cardamom, Clove, Garlic, Fennel oil and Peppermint oil. So, it really sounds like a cooking recipe. Has anyone actually used this product? ## I've just started taking it this week - they recommend 3 pills a day with a glass of water for the first month. My first day I took this too literally and had the pill...

Can this drug be used for a tooth & gum infection & what are the side effects for a man ## Hi jeff, Which medication or drug are you referring to? It does not appear that you posted the name of what your talking about in a specific forum or within your topic or description. If you could post back with this bit of info, I'd be more than happy to do some research on the indications and side effects of that particular drug. If you do have a tooth or gum infection, I would also suggest looking into getting some clove essential oil from your local health food store or online, and gargling or brushing your teeth with it for more immediate relief. I hope this helps!

I,m already prescribed tramadol for pain is it helpful for toothache? ## Hi Dot, Based on my research, Tramadol can be a feasible treatment option for pain associated with toothaches. Although certain over-the-counter meds such as ibuprofen are usually considered first line treatment options, it seems to be quite common for dentists to prescribe Tramadol in and of itself, or in combination with something like ibuprofen for serious tooth pain. You may also want to talk with your doctor or dentist about using an antibiotic (e.g. clove essential oil) to help fight the infection as well. I hope this helps!

Hope you're feeling better soon. Kenie. ## I am in so much pain I think I'm Litterally going crazy. Can't eat. Can smz/tmp tab treat mouth sores ## Hi Linda, This question has an interesting response because Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can actually cause sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips, as a rare but possible side effect. If these mouth sores that you're describing are related to an infection, I can confirm that this medication is also used for treatment of both tooth and gum infections; although it does not specify if mouth sores are included in this category of treatment. If I were in your shoes I would consider trying clove essential oil for any dental or mouth related infections or sores. There are also a good number of natural home remedies which you can find online, if these are identified as canker sores. Please post back with any additional information s...

Can u take two 800mg ip466 at once? Serious toothache and one pill isn't working! Will it hurt my child since I'm breast feeding ## Hi Relly, Unfortunately, the maximum amount of Ibuprofen for adults is 800 mgs per dose or 3200 mgs per day (equivalent to 4 maximum doses), depending on each individuals response and tolerance. So you'd essentially only be able to take one of those "IP 466" pills at a time (4x daily). If I could recommend something else that may be more effective for your toothache, it would probably be pure vanilla extract and/or clove essential oil. I've used both before and they helped num any sort of pain I had and also alleviated some discomfort. Both of those options contain powerful antibacterial properties (unlike Ibuprofen) that are really ...
