I am a diabetic and hypertension patient for the last 20 years. My Glucose fluctuates from 45mg to 500mg.I am taking 3 Insuline injections daily. My doctor feels it may be due to tension and depression and have prescribed "clonotril-0.5"to get relief from depression.I am afraid by taking this medicine to feel when my glucose is getting low while sleeping. I have been taking clonotril since 1.5 years.Dose has been reduced from 1 mg to .25mg per day,now.If I stop,anxiety due to relational problem reappears.side effects? ## Clonotril contains the active ingredient Clonazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and these are well known to be habit forming, when used for a long period of time. Thus, an abrupt cessation can result in withdrawal symptoms and rebound effects, such as what you are experiencing. A sudden withdrawal also carries the risk of seizures. Clonotril 0.25 advise
I have been taking 1/2 tab of conotril 0.5 since june 2012. With this, I was able to have 4 hours so so good sleep and 2 hours fitful very light sleep [ some days i remain almost completely awake] My Doc has said just 0.25 mg is not a sedative dose and it should not be increased. I need healthy sleep and also ultimately I want to taper it down to zero. Please give your advise ## What else have you tried to treat your insomnia? Have you tried any natural products, such as Melatonin? It can help reset your body clock, so you may begin to sleep normally. my wife is suffering from sleep disorders. she is not having proper sleep in the night. she gets sleep in the morning about 4am for 3 or 4 hours. Far too many to list on here. My doctor prescribed me clonotril 0.25mg for a good sleep. I took one almost 2hrs ago. But still i am awake... Should i increase the dose(amd now if possible)... ## What did you end up doing? Clonotril withdrawl plan from 0.25 mg daily
I was having anxiety problem (when TSH detected 44 in March this year, now ok with eltroxin) due to which I developed insomnia. I tried restil, valliuim etc which when taken gave good results (good sleep) but on leaving the pill sleepless ness was limping back. In July this year my Doctor prescribed me Chonotril 0.5 mg, half tab daily at night. I am ok with this at least most of the weak . I tried to go without the pill sometimes without success.
