Are the Clonidine U-135 pill the same as the Clonidine R-127?? I got them from two different doctors and I wasn't sure if they were the same. They have a different taste. The u-135 are white ovals and are tasteless and the round orange R-127 have a horrible taste. ## Yes, they have just been manufactured by different companies, in this case Unichem Pharmaceuticals and Actavis respectively. The taste can just vary, depending on the inactive ingredients they choose to use in them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hypotension, mood changes, tiredness and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take my expired clonidine 0.1mg patches as prescribed? What would happen if I do? I used to take these when I was WD from opiates. They worked great. I need to use them again, but have no way of getting anymore. Would it be OK to use what I still have from before? Will it still help me? ## Hello, Ambrosia! How are you? How old are they? Medications tend to lose effectiveness over time, so depending on their age, they may no longer work to help you.

Have been struggling to taper off Clonidine since mid Feb. Was on 0.2mg transdermal patch for 5 wks; switched to 0.1mg patch for 10 days. Had 5 withdrawal rebound attacks in that time, the first time when I stopped cold turkey, a couple times when the patch would lose its potency from peeling off, and then when I dropped from 0.2mg to 0.1mg. In each case, BP spiked between 160/95 to 180/100 and had anxiety, tremor tachycardia. I can always tell when my BP is elevated by the surge in anxiety and HR. Doc prescribed Verapamil 80mg TID to help manage the rebound which I soon after stopped, as it didn't help with the rebounds; later added Lisinopril 10mg to no avail, but am still on it. I now am trying to manage weaning off using Clonidine 0.025mg caps I had compounded and still reboundi...

Ok, so I have been on .1mg clonidine (catapres) for the last four years. I have never been to impressed with the generic I have taken nor have I ever withdrawed from clonidine ever. I take 1 in morning and 2 at night as directed. The generic I have been used to for all four years is the actavis (blue po) and have never tried any other generic. However I am big on knowing all generics differ in all medicine unless it is brand name. I tend to always order the most preferred / best generic. It would be great to get some feedback on any generics compared to actavis / blue p.o.? There are some new generics out I have noticed and I would like the most efficient. I personally stay away from Mylan on anything and usually stay away from actavis best I can but hard on this until i choose to order...

I've been on Clonidine for about 6 months .2mg three times a day. I asked my Doctor if he can change my medication. He gave my Hydralize 50mg to help me when off it and told me to reduce the dose of Clonidine from .2mg to .1mg. Is this a good plan? ## Hello, Rami! How are you? For the best results, it is always a good idea to follow your doctor's instructions and advice. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Hydralazine as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and sedation. Have you made the change, yet?

My daughter is 7 years old and has been on Focalin 15 mg for almost a year, she has been taking it at 8 am and 2 pm and today the Doctor started a new schedule. She now has to take Focalin at 8 am and two new medications. She has to take Clonidine .1 mg either 1/4 or 1/2 at 4 pm and they said it will make her drowsy. The other medication is Risperdal 1mg but 1/2 a pill at night which also puts her to sleep. She has ADHD and severe Oppositional Difiant Disorder, do you believe that much medication is proper or do you recommend getting a second opinion? She is also having anxiety and depression symptoms do you believe that this mixture of medications could hurt her? Does anyone know any great psychiatrists in the Dallas/DFW area that they would recommend? ## Hello Juanita! I am 29 and suf...

I have been on clonidine now for approx 10 months, for high blood pressure. The doctors had tried several other medications but I had so many reactions and issues we decided that the clonidine patch would work best and it has. Yes there is some fatigue and some up and down numbers but in general I have done well. MY BP was all stress related , no non medical reason. So in the past couple of months have been able to alleviate most of the stress (refinance) and I started 500mg magnesium daily and within a month my BP is getting lower and lower and lower. I was wearing 4mg of clonidine and taking (2) 1mg pills during the day as needed. Now I am down to only 2mg a day and still my BP is staying below 115/64 which is vampire state for me. (my numbers were up in the 180/100 range) soooooooooo...

I've also been taking prescription Clonazepam for about a year now 0.5MG's a day. My body is not the same as it use to be I wish I never picked up a joint in my life. Now I recently developed hypertension not high im just at the pre stage. My doctor prescribed me Clonodine HCL 0.1MG a day once a day at bedtime but i take in the morning because my anxiety and symptoms r so bad. Hi. My 7 year old son takes Clonidine (.1mg) once daily in the evening. He takes Concerta (37mg) in the morning. He is autistic with ADHD and anxiety. The Clonidine is to help his transition from the Concerta and to help him relax for sleep. I completely forgot to go pick up his Clonidine prescription today (it was totally my own fault), and my boyfriend took our only vehicle to work. The pharmacy is already closed. Will he be OK until tomorrow afternoon (when he gets home from school)? If not, I can have my sister go pick up his script tomorrow and take it to school... but if I do that I am worried that he will get drowsy in school. Can someone advise me on the best thing to do? I honestly don't know about this, and I am looking for some guidance. ## I know this question is from tw...

Put on half a .1mg Clonidine to take only once a day and was only taking it for less than 6 days. I forgot to take it and want off the pill. I also take 2.5 Corlanor at night and .5mg Lorazapam as needed. I am so scared and terrified of withdrawal. I was put on med for my Hyper POTS disorder. Will I be ok? So far my blood pressure has been good but I am feeling a lot of anxiety and heart palpitations. ## Hello, Katt! How are you doing? Has there been any change? There shouldn't be any issues after taking it for only 6 days, in theory, but everyone is different. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including insomnia, nervousness, palpitations, anxiety, and elevated blood pressure. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor, so they can check things out ...

I cant relax so would it be safe to take one more clonidine they are 0.1mg help me asap sence I cnnot sleep with this twitching ## Hello, Tiff! How are you? No, this is a very potent medication and you shouldn't take more than your doctor has prescribed. It may take a few weeks for this medication to reach its full level of efficacy in your body and for it to alleviate all your symptoms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## In some cases yes but for me the more I took the worse it got that is a very bad drug it causes all sorts of side effects from anyone I've known to take it higher then 0.3 Mg's dont ...

I am on Clonidine for anxiety and other reasons. I take 0.1mg to 0.2mg at a time. Today I was watching my grandkids when I took 0.2mg around 3:30 - 4:00. I had such a hectic day, got home at 7 and took it again forgetting I already took it. Will I be ok? I'm a little scared... ## How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? In most cases, unless someone is allergic to a medication, accidentally taking a double dose, just once, will usually only cause worsening of some of the side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sedation, lowered heart rate, and lowered blood pressure. But in some cases, this could put some people in danger, so in such situations, it is always best to seek emergency medical advice, via an ER doctor, or urgent care c...

I went to the doctor for an unrelated issue. BP was high 200/95. Might be situational but she had me start a regime of .1mg of Clonidine 2 times per day. Took the first one at 7pm. BP was normal at 6 am. Can it work that fast or was my high BP situational? ## Hello, Scoop! How are you? Clonidine is known to work well and fast, but it wouldn't take it down to normal that fast, so it could be that your elevated blood pressure was situational. However, regardless of that, you do need to take something to prevent it going that high in the future, because that's a very dangerous level to hit that creates the risk of heart attack or stroke, unless your doctor okays your stopping it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Clonidine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth ...
